Chronicles of The Hardships of Komachi in The Sengoku Era
one thousand five hundred and seventy-seven years in early April
Mt. Amameyama is a mountain that exists today in Yamato-cho, Koshu City, Yamanashi Prefecture. Once chased by the Muromachi Shogunate, Nobumitsu Takeda, the 13th generation master of Takeda, committed suicide, and at one point Takeda was cut off.
Was it a mischief of fate that Katsunori, the last leader of the Takeda family, who was rebuilt after that, chose Mt. Amameyama as the place to settle?
The Katsushi clan, which stands near the summit of Mt. Amami at a relatively low altitude, has been removed, creating a spectacular square that would have stepped on the ground after mowing the grass.
As I could stand up in the morning, I waited for Katsushi to sit with arms on the floor table (foldable waist) in the center of the square.
A faithful leader with only a few signs climbs the mountain path straight up.
"... are you here?"
There was a murmur of trust in the appearance of loyalty. Victory has pushed his men down far enough to keep nobody close to the arena.
When Katsura rose barely, she grabbed the dust-coated spear that was standing beside her. Katsushi is a complete defense wearing Takeda's proud Akaya Eye and even a tight face.
In contrast, the loyalty that appeared on the battlefield was not in line with the common sense of this era.
"You must be the one who applied for a ride. I told you that I would blade myself instead of winning or losing, so did you despise me?
Respond by lowering the distribution except Nagaoka, who is the witness to the question of trust, to a position where the spear and sword do not reach.
"If you despise me, I'll beat you up without hitting you. I recognized him as the Han (cousin) who will succeed Kai Takeda's Takeshi, so I set up this place. I've seen enough energy and strength."
"It's not because I received charity, but is it really such a good dress?
The questioned loyalty certainly looked strange. At her feet, she wears Oda army standard braided boots and a shin pad over her cheeky underwear like modern cargo pants.
The torso is wrapped in streamstone armor, and the grass sliding covering the waist is no different from victory. The large sleeves that should cover the shoulders to the elbows were removed and the basket covering the wrists to the elbows was slightly larger.
It was no exaggeration to say that we were defenseless and not wearing a helmet set to the head.
"Would it not be possible to imitate shooting arrows over this period? Then, in my experience, I became a bad side, and I devised something."
Said Nobunaga, getting a spear slightly longer than his height from his men lowered him. Nagaoke stands between the two facing each other and stands back and watches their movements without getting in the way.
In contrast to the trust to obtain a large spear for the complete defense of the contemporary legs, it was clear that the faithfulness of the lightweight apparently seemed to be at a disadvantage, besides the inferior spear in time.
Seeing that the loyalty was ready, Katsushi turned the large spear he had to draw a large circle over his head and opened his mouth to the loyal side.
"Then don't say anything at the earliest. Let's show our intentions with our own weapons, not with our mouths. Call me anytime!
Katsumoto stopped and found out how to be faithful. Since their loyalty to each other is inferior in time, they are unable to step into circumvention and fill the gap with ruffles.
In the second half of the step, the spear reached the opponent, and the victory moved. The spear standing beside him slipped in his hand and pushed forward, releasing a sufficiently powerful thrust to say that he could hardly see the preliminary motion.
I was supposed to have been watching the opponent's movements, but because my reaction was delayed for a half an instant, I couldn't avoid it in time. I stuck my spear on the path of the spear and strayed from the tip of the ear. I let my body escape in the opposite direction with a recoil.
Katsura's large spear was more than a foot long, and the tip, which should also be called the sword, was thrust into the spear with the handle sharpened.
Originally, it would have been difficult to handle a heavy spear, and a large gap would have been created if a powerful thrust had been made.
However, Katsushi did not defy the flow of forces diverted from the side, but rather applied his own force and further twisting of the body to the lateral force, so as to fold the body and compactly rotate the large spear, releasing a blow such as hitting from the diagonal upward.
A loyal who saw a blow that was swinging down to hit him where he ran away, thinks it's impossible to take it with a spear, or throws his body to avoid it.
Nobunaga, who rose as he rolled over the ground, saw him again carrying a large spear to his armpit in the form of an empty victory.
(I've never seen anything like it before.)
I've been trying to find out about the power of the trusted individual before I hit this horseman. However, there was no information that they were excellent at commanding the troops, and no information that Katsura herself was good at martial arts was available.
In the Takeda family, where there are all famous martial arts artists, there were aspects where faithfulness judged that the strength of the trusted individual was not as strong as that of the trusted individual.
"Isn't that armor as heavy as it looks?
"You can see it all in one piece. The previous reputation is unbelievable, so we are in a better position than before. Kanjiro Oda, I'm coming!
The point of winning is correct. All of Nobunaga's armor is specially made, and Oharu's state-of-the-art technology has been poured into it without hesitation.
Cargo pants that look just like cloth are also blown away with melted glass like a cotton confectionery making machine, using centrifugal force to braid thin, thinly stretched glass fibers on the outside.
Naturally, if you touch the skin as it is, fine cuts and tingling will occur, so please be careful to say that the back side is lined with normal fabric.
This alone is only a slightly durable non-burning cloth, but the armoured version used for the tibia and cage is even more different.
Steel that can only be made by tailoring is stretched thinly at room temperature by a technique called cold drawing.
This was the first technology that could be realized by continuously uniformly applying enormous force from steam engines that could not be produced by water wheels or animal power.
This creates steel wires that are as thin as octopus threads rather than wires, even if they are not piano threads.
This is braided in a mesh shape and then layered onto a thin sheet of red oak, which is made of resin.
It had the same strength as an iron plate, but it weighed about one-fifth of its weight and was completely over-tech.
Next, loyalty ran to take the lead. Contemporary legs are designed to prevent arrows, reducing the gap, and the defensive side view is narrower.
It was a maneuver that took a position that was difficult to chase by running to the left in the face of victory, while being out of sight, and by turning around behind the opponent.
The response of victory to this was a strange one of turning his back completely on loyalty. As he rounded his body down, Nobunaga visualized the shape of the barrel (spring) compressed to the limit.
Faithfulness flew up aggressively in the cold like being pushed into a frozen ice pillar on the spine.
After all, a flash of light ran through the feet of loyalty. The sharp slash that was late enough to hear the wind chip ran through, and the short-cut grass was shortened even further.
An unusual trunk that freely swings its spear from any position, and the stiffness that creates sharp pricks and slashes. It was a terrible armpit that could be called the unparalleled samurai of heaven.
"You can't just run away!
"My guts are cold on the boulder. Does everyone in the samurai have so much power...?"
Faithfulness, which was judged not to be a match at a medium distance, narrows the distance while rushing in a direction where a winning attack is difficult to reach, as described earlier.
Long-handed weapons, such as spears, get caught in close proximity, causing Reach to catastrophe and stop hitting.
Naturally, to that extent, Katsushi knew that by folding the left arm supporting the spear inwards and turning the right hand pushing out the pattern large outwards, he released a compact slash.
Faithfulness, who had done this in a short time, was so meagre as to be trustworthy. The tip of the spear was far behind Katsura, and now loyalty was treading on with opportunity.
The strange sound of Bassin! led to a great retreat in loyalty. The torso of loyalty is distorted on the side, and if you look closely, the spider's nested crack is running.
"What is it!? Looks like you hit a rock."
Victory was unleashed by the stone clash of the spear. With no gap between the slashing of the sideburn and the collision of the straight line, Nobutada was depressed with the torso armor of the tiger child and ejected out of between.
"Shizuko's special armor! That's how easy it is to get through!
Nobunaga dared to attack for the third time. Under the extreme stress of fighting for each other's lives, they drain more energy and health than expected.
Although it was not an effective blow, I was more tired of winning than loyalty who took a painful blow, seemingly preserving my health by releasing a counter each time.
A faithful act of attacking from out of sight was cutting away the strength of victory more than imagined. Katsushi's fatigue encouraged sweating, and the balls of sweat beyond the limit of absorption blocked one eye.
A void that could not be said to be the void of an instant divided fate. Nobunaga, who stepped in a big way, shook his spear to the ground in front of Katsura and ran through Katsura's armpit, pulling out the dagger of his hips and rolling.
The right arm of Katsushi, whose spear was in the way, could not run the spear, danced in the air. Blood erupted from the base of Katsushi's right arm, but he threw away his spear and reached out with his left hand without pulling out the thick blade of his waist.
The slash from behind ran again, and now the tip was slashed from the elbow of the left arm. Losing both arms, Victory realized defeat, and when he reached there, he stretched out his spine and shouted.
"Excellent! This wound will soon crush someone's life. I don't have an arm like a self blade. Can't you hope for a mistake?
And faithful cried in response.
"It was a triumph of thin ice. Grasp the mistakes while not reaching."
Said Nobunaga, standing behind the trust of his head hanging so that his spine could be extended and his neck could be seen, he shook his dagger high.
"Do it!
The blade was shaken down with Katsura's words, and Katsura's neck fell under the blade. The body fell up late, and the Takeda family's last lord passed away.
"Without this armor, it would have been for me to go under the fountain. Shiro Takeda was a samurai."
After Katsunori Takeda's death, this report was spread by the hands of the Oda family and was immediately spread throughout Japan. The demise of the Takeda family, which was called the strongest warring nation, whether thin or dead, shook all the people of Japan.
As a result, there was no one to dispute that the Oda family would become the Great General Kaisei, the leader of the samurai family. Strictly speaking, Hojo would not be allowed, but the reality is that it is virtually the only way to acquiesce.
Nobunaga only responded to the destruction of the Takeda family, which was avenged by Fugu Daiten.
It was the Takeda family who had devoted their hearts and minds to defeating it until now, but it was a feeling of emptiness that was difficult to fill when they heard that it had been destroyed.
Sakai merchants, who were brilliant and quick, later congratulated Nobunaga and praised the Oda family by discrediting the Takeda family. I silently intimidated everyone who vomited such words.
The merchants who could no longer stand the cold gaze of Nobunaga and the silence accompanied by physical pressure left the scene early.
When the time came, Nobunaga and the Shinto army, as well as the Tokugawa and Koyama allied forces, were chosen as a place to gather, and the parties involved gathered to discuss post-war processing.
The loyalists who fought for victory first entered the castle to prepare, and the Tokugawa and Koyama allied forces who had marched from the south joined forces. Though they had opened the castle without blood, they cleaned the ruined castle and repaired its surface, whether it had been looted or not.
After such shadow work, Nobunaga and Kintetsu, who rushed late, will be welcomed. Nobunaga declared that he would receive a meritorious award on the spot and gathered the people involved.
"This victory was the struggle of Lord Mikawa-no-Kami, who continued to resist Takeda's invasion for a long time."
It was Ieyasu that Nobunaga awarded the first prize. It is because he stepped on Takeda's invasion that there is a victory today.
Although it has not achieved a great deal in the Second East China War, it was an evaluation that took into account the achievements of the past. Nobunaga gives Ieyasu Suruga.
Next, Kai-no-Kuni, the home country of Takeda, was given to Hidetaka Kawajiri, the head of the black mother clothes crowd, who followed his loyalty in the battle of the East.
Inagakuni was then awarded to Maori Nagahiro, a loyal direct minister, and some of Ueno and Shinano were awarded to Takigawa.
The territory given to the Takigawa River also included the former Sanada territory, but Masayuki Sanada had no particular mouth to mouth because he already intended to bury the bones in the tail.
And as for the territory that is in a state of civil war due to the death of Takeda, it will be given to Nagaoke, who has made excellent efforts in this time of the East China crusade.
It is long enough to subtract poverty from looking at it, but Nobunaga determined that if long enough, it could cure them well while suppressing them.
Finally, he was not awarded any reward for his loyalty, which was the general of the Second East China Crusade and the actor who directly defeated the victory.
"The punishment for disobeying orders while being a general and putting the entire army at risk!
Nobunaga told me to throw up. It would have been imprudent of him to take a knock-on when his life was in danger, even though he was the wedded son of the Oda family.
However, Nobunaga continued to say as everyone leaned their heads to see if it could be offset by the achievements that had achieved half of the battle for East China.
"I gave him permission to marry Princess Matsushi, an orphan of Takeda. We will not allow Takeda to regain his rights, but we will reward him for allowing blood to survive."
From what I've heard, Nobunaga's ruling didn't bother me.
Subsequently, Nobunaga praised the more than fifty loyalists who had fought according to trust until the end as "sky clear (overflowing) with enemies", and promised not to impose blame on the clan party, including the priest, to ease life.
Conversely, those who rebelled after the Takeda family was driven to disadvantage and did not subtly give to the Oda family are severely punished for their indecisiveness.
Betrayal in search of the survival of the house is a Sengoku lesson, and we do not pretend to drive the house apart for that reason alone, but those who carried out looting, including genocide, were beheaded.
Yoshihiro Kiso, who saw the harsh response, feared that he could be blamed for turning over first, but when the territory was increased and appeasement was said, he was about to fall back.
Conversely, it is difficult to deal with the mountain that has been turned over at a delicate time. It is already under the control of Tokugawa, and even Nobunaga cannot speak out about its personnel.
"Koshu has a disease called mud rash. Mr. Koyama would like you to take command of this. The Oda family counselor will follow up on the details, so we will do our best to eradicate this disease."
After hearing Nobunaga's words, Mt. Hole stroked his chest out of relief. It was decided that it would be more effective to build a chain of command from scratch against the death and disease of "mud rash", rather than restoring a lord with connections to local residents.
As a result, the territory of Koyama is relieved, and while serving as a subordinate of the Tokugawa family, we will begin a permanent battle against the death and disease that corrode the whole of Koshu.
"Ha! I'm willing to risk my life to work on this mountain."
After seeing Nobunaga's ruling and the hole mountain that accepted it, Ieyasu was relieved. The Tokugawa army, which had invaded from the south, had seen the victims of "mud rash" directly in endemic areas near the Kofu Basin.
Shizuko was telling Ieyasu the details of the "mud rash" against Tokugawa troops who took a route northward from the south during the Second East China Crusade.
From the time when invisible insects inhabiting the water nest in the belly, causing people to die, etc., the absurd (finally) nonsense is also information from other Shizuko, and persuasive visual information such as documents and photographs describing the detailed pathology became the decisive hit.
Something like that happened, Ieyasu sent him to the area after accepting the cave mountain. So he swells his belly like a hungry ghost in a hell of a picture, and sees a thin inhabitant with his hands and feet like sticks.
From that, Ieyasu was to pay utmost attention to "mud rash". Fearing infection from grass containing morning dew, he spread raw lime lent by Shizuko and let the defensive soldiers mow the grass to secure his march.
As a result, the march speed dropped dramatically and we were unable to meet until the castle fell, but we gained a difficult experience of marching while actually protecting against the epidemic.
This "mud rash" is not transmitted from person to person. This is because it cannot grow into an infectious cercaria unless it passes through the intermediate host, Miyairigai. However, insect eggs contained in faeces and urine may flow into rivers and be infected indirectly via miyaligai.
Ieyasu, who knew the current state of the unknown and terrible death and disease, raised his hand in favour of the focus of the Hole Mountain on the eradication of "mud rash".
"This concludes the merit award. I will return from this to Safe Earth, and there will be a follow up on the children."
"Thank you for waiting, Oda."
Having finished what he had to say, Nobunaga stood up and Ieyasu stopped him when he tried to leave the room with a big crotch. Nobunaga threw a sharp gaze, but he continued his words with a soft smile.
"I heard that you can see the mountains of Fuji. If so, please use my territory. Let me show you the scenic spots overlooking Mt. Fuji."
"... I do hear that Mt. Fuji is difficult. Then let's sweeten the words."
"Leave it to me."
Nobunaga Shizuishi didn't think he could climb Mt. Fuji directly. I was going to return with a picture of Fuji shining from a hill with a good view of the sunrise.
However, there is no idea of where such a view can be viewed, and there is no denying the feeling of being close to the scenery.
So Ieyasu's proposal was exactly a boat to cross. And from here on, Ieyasu's arms will be the highlight. Acting as a guide to the Nobunaga clan also includes exposing it.
In other words, happiness, such as encountering a goon on the road, must not happen to any one person. Ieyasu gave instructions to the minister and ordered the Nobunaga clan to establish a route for the passage.
If there were mountains on the trail (Mimiyuki), mountain hunting was carried out, and if there were rivers that had increased water and the bridge fell, they were rebuilt with piercing work. With regard to the temple shrine that will become a dormitory, I made a precursor and cleaned it in the total exit. I donated gold and silver to make the dormitory a bed for the soldiers who followed Nobunaga.
So while Ieyasu was stretching out, Faithfulness and Nagaoke enjoyed a little rest.
"This time things have generally settled down."
Well, the general said it was useless.
Nagaoke smiled ill at the appearance of faithfulness while rinsing hot tea.
"With that said, there is no place where you can win a real marriage."
"The reputation of defeating Takeda's current lord and his track record of successfully leading the Tohoku crusade. I can't argue against marrying pines with these."
"If you pass the boulder on your own, you won't be able to do it.
"It looks angry on the surface to thoroughly punish the award, but after all, it's forgiven without blame. If it's over, it's fine."
"That anger seemed real, but it would be good. How was Nobukatsu?
"The longer you grow, the scarier you become."
After Katsumoto was killed, Nobukatsu thought that he would chase after him with his own blade, but he applied to Nobukatsu for a knock against his expectations.
There is no reason to win the loyalty that defeated my father, but I would have tried to reward him at the end instead of sitting and waiting for him to die.
The result was cut under a blade without a proper meeting. Nobukatsu forbade his ministers to follow him before the horsemen, so they abandoned their arms and went down to the Oda army.
Mrs. Hojo, who returned the body of Nobukatsu and the neck of Nobukatsu after the judgment, left home to mourn them for the rest of her life.
"The problem is mud rash. It seems that Shizuko is planning something, but the details have not come up yet. As a matter of policy, they said we'd start by isolating the population from the epidemic."
"Eh!? Is it okay to move someone who's been corrupted by a disease?
Surprised, Nagaoke, who aggressively returned to his original tone, asks loyalty.
"Ah, it seems that everything bugs up in my belly. It seems that insects stuck in the bellies of sick people rarely do bad things to other people."
"Ah, that's what I saw in the pictures. It seems to be less than the size of the tip of the pinky nail, but it's a terrifying story to have such an invisible insect."
"Everything seems to be a parasite. It's a leech-like creature that sucks on the blood of others and gets fat."
"I see. The invisibility is a hassle, but we should do something to eradicate the shellfish, right?
"Oh, but I hear it's incredibly difficult. The number of shellfish is incredible, not only in the water field, but also on land, and it seems that if you leave a little, it will increase in no time....."
After a glimpse of one of the magnificent difficulties of eradicating the "mud rash", the two of them felt dark in their profession as if they were pouring water with a holed ladle.
The first step in the eradication of "mud rash" began with a pathological autopsy as usual. No matter how much pathological mechanism you know, you must actually open your abdomen and check the liver condition, and make sure that it is definitely the work of "Japanese schistosomiasis".
Fortunately, it was in time of war, so the specimen was not missing. And of the bodies that were killed in battle, those who were short and thin, and whose bellies were swollen, were chosen to open their bellies.
A former army quarantine unit, Kidney's doctors wrapped themselves in waterless resin gloves and front covers, cut open the body's belly, exposed its liver, and put a blade in its portal vein.
Inside the incised portal vein, insect eggs were clogged and inflamed, forming a granuloma that enveloped the raised meat. Here, for the first time, the lesion of "mud rash" and its cause were confirmed.
Parallel to these efforts, a research base was rapidly constructed by collecting Miyairigai, an intermediate host, and conducting interviews with villagers.
The golden acne physicians investigating the "mud rash" were instructed by Shizuko to carry out the experiment as usual, and the data was steadily piled up according to the established procedure.
Nobunaga, who saw the establishment of such a research system, was aiming for Mt. Fuji while avoiding the river and heading south with the Tokugawa army.
"This is Fuji, the famous spiritual peak in Japan!
The view of Mt. Fuji from where Ieyasu was guided was truly spectacular. The blue sky, which did not often fold clouds, was clear, and the green that dyed from the hem field to the foot was vivid, and the top of the mountain, which remained white and snowy, appeared to shine from the middle.
Nobunaga, who was in love with the scenery, returned to me and immediately ordered the engineers to include this view in the photograph. It was difficult to shoot in an undesirable environment, such as telephoto lenses and high-sensitivity films, but still managed to leave a picture of Mt. Fuji trapped in beautiful space.
Although he was always in a good mood, Ieyasu was still laughing gracefully like a swan on the water, but he continued his desperate efforts underwater.
The reason why Nobunaga was invited to continue entertaining until he was forced to do so was because it was necessary to demonstrate the influence that the Tokugawa family could have over the Oda family in the future.
It is a Tokugawa family whose existence has been recognized as a front line to prevent Takeda's invasion until now. After the death of the Takeda family, there was a risk that the Tokugawa family's status would decline in the future as the value of their use decreased.
In attacking and destroying Hojo, it is no longer an optimistic situation that requires the cooperation of the Tokugawa family. It is more natural to see the results of the Nagaoke battle, which was very active in this Koshu crusade, and to see that only the Oda family can fully attack.
"I got Suruga from my previous agreement, but I have no idea where I'm going."
The Tokugawa family now has three countries: Mikawa, Toe (and Otomi), and Suruga, but it is doubtful whether the Oda family will penetrate independent independence if it continues to advance like this. Ieyasu believed that it was necessary to decide what to do with at least the next decade.
However, Ieyasu was the only one who had such an intense feeling of tension in the Tokugawa family, which had risen to victory. The other ministers have no doubt that tomorrow will continue as it has been today.
Still, there was a common understanding that entertaining Nobunaga, an important figure in the Alliance, could be a major factor in the fate of the country. It was the crossing of the Tenryu River that stood in their way.
"Handing over the bridge to Tenryu (about the Tenryu River) is a huge task that has never been done before (Mizo) in ancient times!
"Give me the dragon, but the dragon will not come true."
"Let's get this safe and give it to you by sea."
Today, the Tenryu River has a single river basin, but in this era, there were one river to the east and two rivers to the west. It was a river that boasted a huge amount of water with Lake Suwa as its source of water, and it was called the Great Tenryu in the east and the Small Tenryu in the west.
For this reason, it was even called a "violent dragon" because of frequent flooding once it rained heavily. According to records, 40 floods, large and small, occurred between Genroku and the early Meiji period, about 170 years ago.
Even in simple calculations, flooding occurs every five years, and it is a dream story such as building a bridge, and it was thought that it falls from the bridge.
However, Ieyasu took control of the "Brawl Tenryu", floated the ship and connected it, and said that he would build a bridge on which he handed over the wooden board. I explained that people are touched because they do things that are not normally possible, and I strictly ordered them to accomplish no matter how much money they spend.
Therefore, the Nobunaga clan gathered the boats from the surrounding area behind them as they slowly proceeded, and brought the carpenters to abduct them to engage in construction work.
These decisive efforts bore fruit, and by the time Nobunaga arrived at the Tenryu River, a bridge had been built that had been splendidly connected in a row, and had not collapsed until the line had crossed.
The piercing work was carried out, or the size of the ship varied, and the bridge boards were tilted everywhere, or steps were created that made it difficult to walk.
However, Nobunaga enjoyed the journey in good mood all the time without saying anything.
"Welcome home."
Waiting for Nobunaga in such a mood was Shizuko's appearance that she had never seen before in her life.
It is said that the more generous a person is, the greater the drop when the leopard changes. Nobunaga, who knew it through himself, trembled at the calamity that befell him.
