I Favor the Villainess
156. Not attending school?
"Hey, I don't want to go"
A short morning after the Pope's attempted assassination.
That was the word that popped out of the twins who woke up.
I didn't assume this would happen.
Because it was Mae who said so.
"What's wrong, May? Did someone mess with you in the kindergarten?
"No. It's Alea they're messing with. I don't want to mess with Alea."
May inflates her puffy cheeks to show her will to protest.
"Allea, are you being mean?
"I haven't been messing with you. But..."
"They are! Everybody do it and just hang on to May, and leave me alone about Alea! It's hard for everyone!"
This looks like a deep root, Master Claire and I decided to let the two of us have a good night's rest for now and listen carefully.
The meal was left behind, and I put the two of them on the table, and Lady Claire sat in her seat, too.
I prepared tea for Master Claire and myself, and warmed milk for May and Alair.
"So, what do you mean? Tell me more."
When I was all set about the seats, Master Claire pointed the water at May.
May opened her mouth looking angry and unable to help.
"May, I can grab it better this instant. Er... sledding? If you think of it better, something goes well..."
"! Good for you. Congratulations."
"Congratulations, May"
"Not good! Wow, that's not good!
May denied it all over her body.
"If Mae finds out that it's better to grab it, then Mae will do it all the time. Alea and everyone else are hanging in there a lot, but it's just May. I don't know."
May spoke so much at once she sipped a sip of milk to calm her feelings.
Empire capability education is also thorough in kindergartens.
It opens its gates and tries to develop its abilities for international students from outside, like Alea, without separation.
However, there are both advantages and disadvantages to that way of education.
It's a comfortable environment above all for someone with outstanding abilities like May, but not for the mediocre.
Probably a working environment.
But I didn't think May, not Alea, would mention the problem of such capability doctrine becoming pregnant.
Because Allea is premature, both Claire and I thought it was Allea if we were to realize it.
"In the meantime, Mae doesn't want to be Alea, but she's from the same class. I don't want May at all!
When I heard the words, I fell into my heart somehow.
May doesn't want to dispute the contradiction that public education is becoming a competencist bias.
I guess I simply can't stand the fact that my beloved Alea is not respected, that she is kept apart from Alea.
Master Claire and I looked at each other and wondered what was going on.
It was Lady Claire who opened her mouth first.
"May, there's a point in your statement, too. Protest from me to the kindergarten that Allea has not been adequately treated. But it's Mae's selfishness not to want to be separated from Allea. I don't think so."
"Dear Claire, please wait a moment. May I speak to you first?"
I'm sorry, but I blocked Master Claire's words, and I spoke to May.
"First of all, Master Claire and I were delighted that May shared her honest feelings. Thanks for being honest with me. I'm glad you thought about Alea."
"... yeah"
"The problem Mae and Allea are bumping into right now could be a bit tricky. But, Master Claire and I, we want to think together. Trouble with me what to do."
"... yeah"
When I first said that much and took my seats, I walked up to Mae and Allea's seats and hugged each one.
Unlike usual, May and Allea honestly respond to the hugs.
After all, I guess we were both anxious.
"What do you want May to do? Where's Alea?"
I glanced at the two people sitting in a chair and asked as they stared at each other.
"May doesn't want to do this anymore."
"I... wish I could. I want to keep going."
The two opinions broke.
"Alea can be May if she is!?
"I'm not! But because of me, Mae won't be able to get away with it."
Compared to Mae, who is honest with her desires until she is exhausted, Allea is an adult after all.
It's amazing how you can be told about May, even though you can't possibly have anything to think about it all the time.
"Alea doesn't need May anymore...?
"I'm not! It's hard for me to be May."
"Then!"
"But Mae is so faint with Manaria, aren't you? It's a waste of time to get rid of it."
"You don't care about May! Alea is better than Mae is!
"Yes, stop. That's it."
I waited there for now because they were going to heat up indefinitely.
"First of all, you don't want May to leave Alea, do you?
"Yeah."
"So, Alea wants May to grow more talent?
"Yes, it is."
"Hmm... wait a minute. Let me talk to Master Claire."
When I left the two sides and went back to my seat, my neighbor, Lady Claire, had an expression of something.
I wonder what it is.
"Master Claire?
"Huh...? Ah...... What, what?
"Each of Mae and Allea's statements sounds like ah, but I think we'd both like to squeeze our wits"
"Yeah, yeah, let's do that. That's right..."
Things were a little strange, but Master Claire seems to think about it with me.
It's an issue that I'm very unlikely to be able to handle alone, and I'm very comfortable having Master Claire.
It's comforting, but it looks a little empty up there.
Ha?
"Mae and Alea both know very difficult words for children to use..."
"If there's a word in our conversation that you don't understand, you'll hear it."
"Nevertheless, there is something called limits…"
"It's just the two of us who've lived in the back alley. Don't insult your obsession with wisdom."
"... you're right"
And, like Claire showing convincing, perhaps that's not where her troubles lie.
Though, is it something I can go in and ask you now?
"Can't you have Alea in the same class as May?
Says Lady Claire.
For one thing, it looks good to continue discussing the Mays like this.
"What about that? Given the policy of the Empire, I think the classes May takes are at the highest level even in kindergartens. It could be a little tough on Alea."
"May, I'll check with you, but is it all classes to stay away?
"Yeah, no. Just Maho no Jiju"
"So it's not good to just put up with magic classes?
"... it has to be Alea."
May began to grope.
"Hey, May. May's important about Alea, isn't she?
"... yeah"
"You like Alea?
"Love it."
"Yeah, that's right. But then you don't even want to torment Alea, do you?
"I don't want Allea to be annoying!
"Yeah. But, May. What makes May want to take magic classes with Alea, too, is that she's gonna end up suffering about Alea, right? Still okay?"
"!... Really, Alea?
May looked at Allea as surprised.
"I don't want to be like Mae. I have no reason to be a broom."
……
"I don't want to be Mae either, but I want to be Mahogany."
"Ken?"
"Yeah, I'm just as good as I am as I am as I am as I am. He said he'd wear it because of the injury."
"Is that what Allea wants?
"Yeah. I don't want to put it over May. But I'm glad May didn't want to be me. Thanks."
……
To Allea's words, May seemed to be shaking.
I don't want to leave Alea.
But I don't want to torment Alea, I want to fulfill what Alea wants to do and raise it.
Those thoughts are grinding in May.
"... can I have the mahogany?
"Yes, and the others are just the same as before."
"Yeah, well done so far!
"Heh heh, Mae's a mambo, isn't she?"
Allea laughed and stroked May's head.
May stayed fluffy, but for once, he was convinced.
It is a relief even for me.
"Then May takes a little patience and a magic class apart. Meanwhile, Allea takes sword classes. Otherwise more than ever. Is that okay?
"... yeah"
Yes, sir.
"May, thank you for putting up with me. Thanks for thinking about May, too."
"Yeah."
"At last. It's about Daisy May."
"! May likes Alea too!
To Allea's words, May got in a good mood all at once.
Thus did Mae's out-of-school noise fall first.
