Chapter 177: Final part of the plans

Ren looked down at the spider.

"This is the extent of what he can do?" He asked and squatted next to him. He grabbed the spider by its head and raised his head.

"Tell me, what’s the final play of your mother’s plan? The fact that you attacked a major city like this tells me that things are surely in the final phase."

The spider struggled to open its eyes, and then it looked at Ren. A smile formed on its face. "Hahahahaha, hahahahahaha, hahah." He burst out in crazy laughter, his eyes rolling back as he did.

"Shit," Ren cursed. He had come to learn that when you heard that laugh, it meant things were not as they seemed.

He pulled on the head of the spider harder and hurled him into the wall. The spider slammed into it and collapsed to the ground hard.

"Tell me!" He demanded.

"I was only a distraction, a plan set to ensure that you did not step out of Sky City and to ensure that you could not stop Mother’s plan when it fully began, which is right now.

"Spread across the kingdom right now, Mother’s spiders have spread wide and have begun taking more and more people, and at the exact time, all of them will give their lives, and their blood will serve as the fuel needed to make sure Mother steps into godhood.

"She will ascend above all of you and will rule this world. And when she does, all her children will be reborn and will come out even stronger, and they will destroy all that you humans and monsters have created."

He looked at Ren with wide eyes, madness filling them.

Ren stepped back, realizing that they might have been too late.

"Hahah, did you really think it would be that easy to stop Mother? She has planned this for years. She has given her all to ensure that this plan comes to pass."

The spider struggled back to its feet, looking Aren right in the eye as he stood.

"This city is only the start of something greater, the start of something massive, the rise of Mother."

The spider then smiled and kept talking.

"You should not worry about these humans, though. Your home is what you should be worried about."

When he said that, Ren paused. He looked at him. "What are you saying? What did you do?" He barked.

"Not what I did, but rather what Mother made someone else do. Your home will be no more by the time that this is all over. While you are busy fighting for the humans, all your subordinates will be..."

Before he could get the words out, Ren shot forward and grabbed him by the neck, pushing him fast and slamming him into the wall hard until they broke out of the house.

Ren did not stop there. He shot into the air fast, pulling the spider behind him until he was so high up that they could barely see the ground below.

"What did you do? If you or your mother dare lay a hand on my people, I’ll grind you to dust."

The spider smiled and said nothing else. Ren dropped him from up there. He fell from the sky and slammed right into the ground at full force. He flew down after at top speed and slammed into the spider with his knee, completely shattering the spider and killing it.

He got up, the look in his eyes completely changed as he walked down the street.

"System, release all my chaos energy now."

[Warning, Host has stored a huge amount of chaos energy.]

"Use it all."

[Are you certain?]

"Just do it already," Ren said.

The system saw that he was not joking and let it all out. His eyes turned blood red in an instant.

"I’m done with this entire sham."

Ren muttered and raised his hand into the arc. Multiple balls of energy formed in the air. They spread across the entire Sky City, each one hovering above the heads of one infected that was running around.

Ren proceeded to fly into the air. He floated above the city and looked down at all.

"Each and every one of you die!"

As he said that, all spheres shot through the air, each one slamming into an infected and completely blasting huge chunks of their bodies away and killing them in an instant.

One after the other, in front of everyone, the bodies of the infected hit the floors hard. The EXP rushed into Ren nonstop as he climbed in levels, but he did not care.

In only a few seconds, bodies littered the floor in the thousands, all dead. Ren did not care about the fact that all of them were once humans. The fact that they were infected was all that he needed before he killed them. At least they would be free in death.

Everyone looked up into the sky, and they saw the figure in front of the sun, wings spread out and looking down at everything with glowing red eyes. They did not know what to feel at the moment, fear or horror.

Ren did not look at their faces, nor did he care for what they were thinking. He simply scanned the area to find where his subordinates were, and then he flew down.

He found Lia, who was fighting with Liam against the infected. When they saw Ren, they rushed to him.

"What did you do?" Liam asked.

"It’s too late. Their plan is already in action all around the kingdom, and this is the final stage. There is no saving anyone at this point now.

"They are also attacking my home. I am sorry, but I have to leave now. I have no interest in what happens here if my home is under attack.

"You can stay here and handle your issues, Count Liam," he spoke clearly and looked at Lia.

"Are you coming with me?" He asked.

"Wait, don’t kick me out of the mix yet. I also want to stop what’s happening, and if heading to your home will help stop it, I’ll come along," Liam said.

Ren had no issues with him coming along. He found everyone and then transformed right in the city, causing a massive scene. Everyone was shocked to see a dragon, but the dragon did not stay long. He shot into the air with everyone on his back and shot out of the city in seconds.

Duke William watched Ren leave. A frown formed on his face.

"He is an issue," he muttered.

"We have a way to pin him down now. He basically just committed mass murder."

Ezra said and stepped out of the shadow of an alley.

"Hmm, we should focus on why he did it first, though. It seems the spider issue has reached its final stages. Whatever the plan is, they have gotten what they want," William said.

"Will the king act now to secure his kingdom?" Ezra asked.

"Sigh, sometimes I wonder how we have them as rulers. I’ll have to start doing all the heavy lifting because they refuse to use the power that they have.

"Either way, it’s clear that we did not see this coming, and stopping it will be a massive difficulty. We might have to inform every town and city to do the same thing that the dragon did, kill all the infected to ensure that they do not get used as fuel for what is to come," he explained.

"So do you want to broadcast it or?" Ezra asked.

"No, this still needs to be done properly. I’ll inform the king and the royal family while, at the same time, Louise and Tera will be informing their leaders that they have to move out and handle that situation like we planned."

"Are you telling me that you somehow had plans with the organization that only the royal family can control?" Ezra asked.

"Oh yeah, I did for sure. You see, Ezra, do not underestimate me at all. I’m chock-full of surprises."

[...]

Ragna and Riker were locked in training. Riker rushed forward and attacked, going all out with punches, but Ragna blocked each one easily.

Riker landed on the ground. He shot forward again and leaped into the air, going for a spinning kick, only for Ragna to grab him by the leg and then slam him hard into the ground.

"Your attacks are telegraphed. I can tell what you are coming for long before you even do it," Ragna said.

"When facing a weaker enemy or an enemy on the same level, you can easily win with that, but when facing an enemy that is above you, it becomes a flaw," Ragna said.

Riker got up to his feet. He shifted his stance and got ready to attack.

"So what do I do then?" He asked.

"You need to plan moves ahead. Fighting is not all about the execution, but also what happens before you even need to execute the blow."
