Chapter 110: Ophelia’s plan?
Raven Town was one of the many that had been targeted to be hit. The forest was located at the border of the kingdom, but it stretched out very far and had over five small towns connected to it, which were connected to the Kingdom of Vermilion.
It turned out that the person who sent the spiders was not really with a target in mind and simply wanted to use her spiders to catch as much as possible. Each town was plagued with the spiders, and their survival was bleak because of what was now happening inside them.
The town of Raiden was a small blacksmithing town that focused on creating tools and selling them off to big towns and whatnot. Their town was protected by special magical defenses because they were a town that barely fought, but all the spiders had needed was a few humans.
The first guard at the outskirts of the town was infected, and he killed every single guard there, who was then infected, and the defense was brought down, and the town went to ashes in seconds. Everyone fought with desperation and tried to stop the spiders, but their situation was worse than that of Raven Town.
The third town that was hit was the town of Kendal, a small town, almost smaller than Raven Town. There was nothing special about Kendal, but when the spiders arrived, a party of adventurers armed to the teeth came out and helped them with the fight.
It was one lady mage, one dual-wielding woman, one tank, and one swordsman. They moved together as one destructive unit, killing the insects and managing to stay away from getting caught in any way. Their party alone managed to keep the town safe and protected from a full-out apocalypse.
The fourth town was the town of Mera, which shared borders with a twin town called Tera. Both towns were basically the same, even down to their laws and rulership, but in old times each town refused to let go and allow their twin town to swallow their own town.
Both towns were hit with the same vigor as the other towns, but being twice as big, it allowed them to have twice the men and more adventurers, but it also meant that the monsters that were attacking would be twice in number.
Both towns tried their best to hold their own against the spiders, but even after using all the tools in their arsenal, it seemed they would be getting infected into mindless monsters.
The crisis had not yet risen to the point where the kingdom would know or be interested in what was happening here, but to the people who were in those towns, the fear was real, and they were facing it like demons breathing down their backs.

Ren felt that something had gone wrong as he sat down. He looked at Ophelia and the way that she spoke, and it did not rub him the right way.
’What are you plotting?’ he asked her in his mind.
Ren thought about it carefully right there. He could ignore this feeling for long and not say anything, or he could leave here and find out what was causing him to feel this way.
"Ren, you seem pressed. Is there an issue?" Ophelia asked.
’What the fuck is your plan?’
"Oh, I’m cool, but I believe that whatever this meeting has to offer has ended, right? I’d like to head back and have some rest," Ren said and then rose to his feet.
"Rushing away?" she asked.
"Yes, I am. I have a feeling something crazy is happening, and yeah, I don’t want to be here after having such a feeling," he said while already waving at them and heading to the doors. A seething Tempest watched him leave. He knew that Ren would be back, and he hated that fact alone. He wanted Ren dead.
When Ren arrived at the doors, Ophelia gave one last statement.
"Ren, please stay clear of humans. It would be best for you."
’What the heck does that even mean? Does she think I just go after humans all the time?’
He clicked his tongue and waved his hand over his head, leaving the room and the meeting behind.
"Master, are you done?" Remu asked.
"Yeah, it was no meeting and only a size-up. They wanted to know if they can handle and control us," Ren explained in summary.
The three frowned deeply when they heard what Ren said.
"So your time is a joke to them?" Ezra said in anger. She glared at the door. If Ren allowed her now, she would break the door.
"Master Ren, we should keep full distance from the other Forest Lords," Remu suggested as they started walking out of the building.
"Well, I do want to keep my distance from them. They reek of trouble, but there is something that I do need from them for now," he explained.
The three of them listened, and even now that they did not know the details of what he wanted to do, they still respected what he wanted without a single issue. Their master’s wish would be carried out down to the letter.
The moment they walked out of the monument, Ren spotted a figure rushing his way from the forest. Silas burst out of the forest in his full wolf form, then transformed into a human a few seconds after.
"Master Ren, Master," Silas called out in a rush. He arrived in front of Ren and went on one knee instantly.
"Master, there is somewhat of an emergency," Silas stated. He went on to explain in detail what was happening at Raven Town now.
Ren frowned when he heard it all. "So that was the plan, take over the humans closest to her. She wanted to distract me from it and ensure that there was no one to stop her plans."
He tried to analyze it. He was missing huge chunks, but for now that was what he had to run with.
"Let’s go," he said.
