Chapter 74: Scary Ezra
"Are you sure, Ezra? I could just take him down," Ren suggested.
"No, Master, please."
"Alright then, knock yourself out. I’ll be outside. He attacked to kill, so you are free to do whatever you want."
Ren walked out while whistling, not even bothering to look back at all. "I should get something to eat," he said and rubbed his stomach.
The knight got back on his feet, his hands still gripping the flame sword, his eyes narrowed on Ezra.
"Stay out of my way, and I’ll not kill you here, monster," he threatened while shifting into a stance.
Ezra frowned and raised one hand in front of her. A ball of metal formed and moved like liquid. The metal took the shape of a blade in her hand. She gripped it, and with a flap of her wings, she shot forward.
WHOOSH!
She came in with a slash from below, a clean arc through the air. The knight’s eyes followed the blade. He moved fast and swung down, blocking the attack.
Blade met with blade, and a small explosive force ripped out.
Her left hand moved fast, metal forming above it and turning into a blade at close range. She shot it out fast. The knight leaned back as far as he could. The blade slashed into his cheek and drew some blood.
He staggered back and tried to recalibrate himself as fast as possible, but she was already crossing the distance between them.
"Arghhh, stand back, monster!" he bellowed and swung his sword down, unleashing a massive wave of flames that surged toward her. The crimson glow of the flames filled the cave.
Ezra gritted her teeth. She covered herself with her wings while at the same time launching six metal balls into the air. The flames slammed into her, and she took it, but at the same time she turned the balls into spinning lances of metal that all shot at the knight.
They moved fast. The knight slashed fast and cut clean through one, but the others were already there. One pierced right into his shoulder and burst out of the back, the force throwing him back and making the others stab into the ground where he had been.
Ezra stood up as the flames ended. Her wings were burned a bit, but she knew that she would be able to heal them.
The knight groaned in pain as he lay on the ground. He struggled to get back to his feet and formed his blade once again.
Ezra let out a breath. She stretched out her wings and made one large flap that shot her forward so fast she became a blur. He gritted his teeth as he got ready for her, and then he slashed with a large arc. A massive flame crescent cut through the air.
She reacted by swiping her hands and unleashing a wave of flames that slammed into the crescent, cancelling out the attack, and she made it through, leaping into the air and swinging down.
He gritted his teeth and blocked the attack.
BAM
The collision sent both of them backwards. Ezra landed on the ground and skidded back a few meters while the knight was sent rolling until he came to a stop.
"Is this what you planned to use to touch my master? Weak, tch." She clicked her tongue and started walking towards him.
Halfway through the distance, the knight looked up and then let out a smirk. He placed his hands on the ground and drew the exact same rune that he had on his arm. The rune lit up, and then more appeared all over the cave.
"This took me so long to set up. Luckily, it worked," he said in a weak tone.
Ezra was stunned when she saw them.
She knew that something was about to happen, and so she started coating herself in metal.
KABOOM!
A massive explosion followed. It was thunderous. The blast hurled Ezra out of the cave. She slammed into the ground outside and bounced hard on the ground. She rolled until she came to a stop.
The smoke slowly cleared up, and from it she saw the knight walking out like a zombie.
"You monsters disgust me. How dare you come at someone like me? I am an elite knight, the best of the best. Someone of your level should never touch me," he yelled at her as she lay on the ground.
Ezra rose to her feet. She suffered many burns from that attack, and she was bleeding out. Yet she did not look remotely defeated.
Her face twisted into a nasty frown. She spread her hands apart to her sides, and two large balls of metal formed.
On the ground, everyone had turned their attention to see what was happening up there. Ren was there as well. In his hands was some sort of kebab that he had walked around and found being prepared for some goblins, so he took one.
"Hmm, he managed to piss her off. For some reason, amongst all the lizardmen, she scares me the most. Maybe she has the most potential."
Ezra turned the balls into two swords and gripped them. She flapped her wings and ripped through the air.
"Why won’t you die?" the knight yelled and started launching fireballs at her. Ezra slashed through the fireballs with ease. She spun as she dodged one and then slashed into the last two, pushing her speed even faster and slamming her feet right into the chest of the knight, hurling him back.
The knight slammed into the ground, rolled, and collapsed. He tried to get back on his feet, but she was already above him. She came down with both swords and stabbed into his back.
"Arghhhhhh!" he yelled in pain, struggling to breathe.
"When you reincarnate, make sure you remember this. My Master should never be crossed, ever."
As she said those words, she dissolved the metal swords right into the body of the knight and then proceeded to control it and turn it into an exploding metal bomb inside the knight.
BAM!
It exploded in the knight and ripped his body apart from the inside out.
