Chapter 72: Kill a dragon. (Bonus Chapter)
Ren sat on the edge of the cave cliff. He looked at what was happening down below. The orcs, goblins, and hobgoblins were still there in their large numbers. They had basically settled in somehow.
Remu and Ezra were ensuring that all of them were okay. The houses available were in no way capable of handling them all, and until the proper houses were built, they would have to spend the night seated outside under the trees. Because of that, plans to have multiple fires set up at night were something Ezra came up with, and the large fire setup points were already getting placed.
"Those two seem to know how to handle things pretty well, thank goodness for them."
Ren pulled his eyes away from them and decided to pull out his system. He wanted to see if there had been any noticeable changes. He had not done a lot in the past few days though.

"Whoa, it seems I got some EXP when I was not paying attention.
Hmm, could it be from the building and development? I guess that’s good."
Having a passive method to gain EXP was great for him, and he liked that the system gave him other means. He was not always going to have monster enemies to take down and grow stronger, so a passive method was one of the best things for him now.
Since there was really nothing else to do now, Ren started kicking his feet and humming the song he had made up when he had been an infant.
"I am a dragon, big big dragon."
He hummed and tossed his head side to side for a few minutes until suddenly he spotted Silas pulling the knight he had knocked out into the camp.
"You have to be kidding me," Ren muttered, knowing that Silas had gone and done something extra in the mission that he had given him.
"Tch, he better not have gone and added more trouble."
Ren leaped down from the cliff and landed on the ground. He walked through the crowd.
He got to where Silas was.
Silas dropped the knight to the ground and then bowed to Ren. Ren glanced at the knight and then back at Silas. He took one deep breath to calm himself first and then proceeded to ask.
"What happened, Silas? I sent you on a mission to watch. Why the hell are you back here with a knight all of a sudden?"
Silas looked at the knight and then back to Ren. He proceeded to explain. Even though Silas could not speak English like the Lizardmen, Ren, as his master, could easily understand all the wolves.
"Sigh, I see why you did what you did, huh. Firstly, that was very risky and dumb. These knights are elites, and they could have taken you down.
Look, I know you are pretty strong, Silas, but can we not take risks that would cost us greatly? You are crucial to what is happening here and to all the wolves that are living here. If you let yourself get killed or captured, it would affect them," he scolded harshly until Silas dropped his head in sadness.
"Sigh, but besides that, what you have done is great. We now have someone that we can question and see what is going on.
Thank you," he said, appreciating Silas. He walked close, patted him on the head, and then hugged him. After he pulled back, he asked, "Was the fight difficult?"
Silas confirmed with a nod but proceeded to explain that he was still better in the end.
"Haha, of course you are better, that’s how you won."
"Let’s have this knight stripped of all his weapons and all his tools. Have him kept in a room and fed. Let’s not cause him any more harm.
What we have done might cause their leader to attack or even their kingdom. We basically kidnapped one of their own. That alone is crazy."
[.....]
"And you watched him get dragged off?" the royal knight asked his man, the same earth knight that had fought against Silas.
After his man had been taken away, he came back and informed his captain what had happened.
The royal knight stood outside the town as well. He was looking at the other men that were standing a small distance away, all in a formation with their hands to their sides and their focus forward. He was looking for even a single one that would slip out of formation.
"The monster was extremely fast, sir. Giving chase would have been futile," the knight said.
The captain looked at him with eyes that could melt ice for a solid thirty seconds and then spoke.
"Your actions were sloppy, and you allowed your partner to be snatched away by a monster. When we return to the capital, you will face punishment on several levels."
His words were like gunshots to his chest. He could feel every one like a sharp pain through his body.
"I’m sorry, sir."
"Tch, that’s not important now. I have a hard time believing that this wolf you saw was ordinary. I’m sure it must have something to do with the dragon. It did not try to kill. It pulled one knight away. It is surely hunting food for something. Maybe the dragon."
He turned to his men.
"All of you get ready. The time will be cut short. We will enter the forest by this time tomorrow, and we will find out what a dragon is doing here in our lands.
And if we can, and I’m sure we will, WE WILL KILL A DRAGON."
