Chapter 87: Earth Dragons
The land of Null, a dimension where beings of great legend were trapped, beings too powerful for the world around them. A dimension only accessible via special means, one being the system which Ren had on now.
Ren looked at the ground dragons headed his way. He transformed back to his sober shell. With the size of these monsters, he needed to be nimble and fast.
"So I have to fight for my next evolution, never imagined it would be so."
He clenched his fist tight and drew a deep breath. For the first time since he came to this world, his heart was racing with excitement for some reason. He closed his eyes for a moment, and when he opened them, he launched.
The ground cracked as he moved through the air in a streak, eyes scanning around already as he locked onto the closest one.
The earth dragons were easily ten to fifteen feet long, almost as large as him, and there were hundreds of them.
Ren planted his right foot into the ground. He spun around into a kick right into the head of the first dragon with a thundering force.
BAM!
The air trembled.
The earth dragon staggered to the side while Ren shifted back into a stance, ready for what was to come next.
An earth dragon rushed in from the side and attacked with a swing of its tail. The tip of the tail was made into a ball-like shape and covered in spikes. A single hit from that would hurt like hell.
He crossed his arms as he blocked the attack. The strike sent Ren skidding back a few feet, but it did not hurt.
’There are many of them, I can’t fight clean, use every means.’
He stretched out his hands, and a massive fall of lightning came from the sky above. It slammed into the closest dragons and sent them all flying. The force was not enough to damage them severely, but it pushed them away for him to start making a move.
Ren lifted into the air and then shot down, his entire body glowing with purple energy. He came down with a wave of gravity five times the normal.
BOOM!
He slammed into the ground, and the force of gravity slammed into one dragon so hard that it crunched the muscles under the armour of its body. Its blood gushed out from the tears in its skin, and a few collapsed to the ground.
RAWRRRRR!
One dragon rushed from behind, coming in hot to ram Ren. Ren pulled one foot back and then swung his arm with all that his body could muster into a powerful claw strike.
The slash ripped through the air and cleaved the dragon clean in half. Either side of it stood for a second before they fell to the ground in opposite directions.
He moved from that position fast because more dragons were lunging at him again. While in retreat, he blasted them with a compressed wave of lightning. It hit the first dragon and then produced a branched lightning network that fried the others close to the first until they all collapsed.
While he was busy with that attack, he did not notice that one of the land dragons had gotten close to his back and swung an attack. By the time Ren sensed it, it was too late, and the tail slammed into him hard.
"Ack."
He coughed as he flew through the air. He rolled for a few meters before coming to a stop. The impact caused his body to scream in pain for a few seconds.
"Shit, their attack power is no joke," he muttered under his breath as he tried to stand up. The dragons rushed in fast, their feet causing the ground to tremble. They swung their tails all at the same time to slam into Ren and keep him down.
Ren gritted his teeth. He activated gravity manipulation, using it to slow down their tails for that moment. He flapped his wings and shot into the air to escape the encirclement.
While in the air, he opened his mouth and unleashed a full chaos flame breath. The vortex of flames came down fast and slammed into the dragons. A few ran before the flames got to them, but the ones that got hit by the flames were not so lucky.
When his attack ended, he looked down at the bodies of the charred dragons on the floor. He flew back down and landed on the ground.
"I can do this all day," he said with a grin on his face.
It seemed the dragons took that as a challenge. They rushed in fast, swinging their tails in attack.
Iron Scales.
Ren hardened his scales, proceeded to block and parry attacks before landing explosive punches that ripped parts of the dragons apart and left them for dead.
One came in to ram him headfirst, using the cover of the others attacking, and it managed to slam into Ren, pushing him back at top speed.
Ren looked at the head of the dragon.
"You think that will be enough to stop me?" Ren asked before pulling both his hands over his head and swinging them down like a hammer.
BAM!
The collision sent the dragon headfirst into the ground. It did not move anymore after it stopped.
Ren got up and turned to the rest.
They were still coming his way fast, but their numbers had been greatly reduced. It was clear that there was no hope for them to win.
Ren was not in the best state as well. His breathing was heavier at this point. He was not near exhaustion yet, but it was clear that he was walking the path to it.
"One move to take them all out."
He raised his hand into the air and used a spell that he had not used all this time, the same move that the headmaster had used the first time they met.
Balls of purple energy formed in the air, over two hundred of them.
