"So how do you find the spiders?" Count William asked. He kept a plain tone, his eyes carried no certain emotion. After they finished with the whole tussle, he returned to being his normal self.

Ren simply glanced at Luna, and then he picked up his meat and began to eat again. He took a few bites casually before then proceeding to explain.

"It’s really simple, to be honest, but informing you on what it is before you pay me is something I’ll not be doing.

That aside, there is also more that you need to think of." Ren said. He ate another piece of meat before speaking.

"What do you do when you find them? They are not going to sit and wait for you to simply capture them, and it is extremely difficult for you to free them of their binds."

Ren leaned back into his chair. He was about to explain even more when suddenly, a massive explosion ripped through the air. It was so loud and powerful that everyone in the room felt the room shake, the plates rattle.

Their heads all turned forward. They looked through the window, and all that they saw was a massive cloud of smoke that reached into the sky.

"They are here," Luna said, her eyes already picking up the energy of the spiders.

William frowned when he heard that. "I had proper defense set at the gate. I thought that would at least slow them down."

Ren looked at him and shook his head. "That’s was never going to work. They are not some sort of monster that you can just stop." He turned and looked out the window again.

"Deploy all your strength. This is about to become something that you can barely contain."

William gritted his teeth. "I did not plan for this today. But regardless, we will handle it." He turned and looked at Louise and Tera.

"The two of you are in charge of my army. Take down anyone that’s infected," he spoke in a calm voice.

"You are not going to try and save them?" Ren asked.

"There is no time for that. It’s sad to say, but I am not allowing Sky City to plummet to the dust."

He turned and walked away after saying that.

"So what do you want us to do?" Ren asked.

"Help me fight, and I’ll reward you heavily. I am not sure of the scale of whatever is happening, but I know that I need all the help that I can."

SHATTER

A window was broken. A figure came in from the window and landed on the floor. He skidded a few meters before coming to a stop. Ren looked at it, a humanoid spider, the son of Ophelia.

His eyes locked onto Ren in seconds. He transformed his hands into sharp, spider-like limbs, pushed off the ground hard, and shot at Ren.

He made it halfway before Ezra and Remu intercepted fast, both of them swinging their sword and spear at the figure, only for the spider to twist through the small gap in their attack and land on the other side with eyes still locked on Ren. It proceeded to spew webs from his limbs at high pressure, slamming into Ezra and Remu, throwing them back and pinning them to the wall.

"Mother asked me to get rid of you," the spider said before charging at him again. This time, Ren decided to meet him head-on. He pulled his blade and blocked the attack. A shockwave followed, and the walls of the building cracked.

"You all go and handle what is happening. It seems this one is here for me, I’ll handle it," Ren said.

William looked at him and then raised a brow. "Are you certain?"

"Your city needs you. Just do what you have to already," Ren said casually and then pushed the spider back.

Everyone moved, leaving the room fast so they could help. Ezra and Remu ripped themselves off the wall. They were filled with rage and wanted to get angry about what happened just now, but they had to leave and handle what was happening in the town.

After everyone was gone, Ren decided to speak to the spider and know how far the plan that Ophelia had had come.

"So you are one of her special children," he said.

"Tch, you killed our youngest sister and have consistently stood in the way of Mother’s plan. She has given me the task of ensuring that you do not interfere with the final parts while the others carry it out," the spider said.

"The final parts?" Ren asked.

"Enough talk. Die." The spider shot forward fast. He went for the head immediately. Ren leaned back and dodged the attack by an inch, his eyes already following the left hand that was coming in hard from the side.

He pushed himself out of the way, and the attack hit the floor, cutting deep into the marble floor. Ren saw this as his opportunity to rush in and finish off the spider, but the moment that he got close, a wave of lightning exploded out and slammed him into the chest, throwing Ren back fast.

He slammed hard against the wall with a loud thud. He collapsed to one knee and his hand, and then he looked up.

The spider stood there with lightning rushing all over its body.

"You thought I would be one of my lesser siblings that you kill?" he asked as he approached. He scratched his claws against themselves, and lightning exploded out.

"Tch, I’m not wasting time on you," Ren said, and then pointed his hand forward. A massive pillar of gravity fell from above, only for the spider to move at the last possible moment, completely evading the attack, and then dashing at Ren, doing all this in an instant, and then throwing a kick right at Ren.

Ren raised his hands and blocked the attack. He was thrown back and slammed into the wall, breaking through it clean.
