4 Yandere Think With Me

Chapter 1: Ghost in the Lecture Hall

The soft rhythmic hum of data servers and the clicking of a mechanical keyboard used to be my sanctuary. In my previous life, I was Leo, a web novelist who spent two agonizing years drafting "Unveiling the Neon Hearts," a sprawling urban romance novel. It was supposed to be a masterpiece about a charismatic protagonist, Haruto Kirishima, saving broken, high-society heroines from their tragic fates and building a beautiful, wholesome life with them.

I knew every plot point. I knew every secret.

But I never planned for this.

"Excuse me. You’re sitting in my designated seat."

I blinked, snapping out of my daze. The scent of expensive French perfume hit my nose before I could even look up. Standing in the row of the grand university lecture hall was Aria Shirayuki, the pristine, untouchable goddess of the campus. She was an elegant girl with flowing, rich-brown hair and a cold, piercing gaze that usually made normal students look down in fear.

To her, I wasn’t an enemy or someone to trample on. I was just Ren Kurogane, a perfectly ordinary classmate from a decent family.

"Ah, my apologies, President Shirayuki," I replied calmly. I stood up without any fuss, picked up my notebook with a relaxed posture, and moved one seat over to give her space. I wasn’t trembling, nor was I trying to act like a weakling. I was just being a normal, polite student.

Aria gave a brief, elegant nod of acknowledgment before sitting down. She opened her sleek leather tablet and began reviewing corporate documents. To Aria, I was just a quiet background prop who minded his own business.

And that was exactly how I wanted it.

When I transmigrated into this modern world three months ago, I promised myself I would stay on the sidelines. But as the author, I had a secret. When I designed Ren, I gave him a hidden trait that I never revealed in the published Chapters: an absurdly overpowered physical conditioning and master-level combat reflex. I was a literal human weapon hidden under an elegant student blazer, strong enough to crush a steel beam with my bare hands.

I wanted a quiet life, but whenever a heroine faced a crisis that would have ruined her life before Haruto could even meet her, I couldn’t just watch. I used my monstrous power to secretly step in. However, my superpower had created a very specific, awkward side effect on campus: I kept disappearing.

Two weeks ago, Aria’s corrupt uncle hired an elite mercenary squad to ambush her right outside the university gates. I was standing near the vending machines when it happened. The moment the mercenary vans rolled in, I executed a bizarre, lightning-fast dash, vanishing into thin air right in front of three students who were talking to me. I moved so fast it looked like a glitch in reality. A second later, wearing a quick black mask from my bag, I dismantled all thirty heavily armed professionals in less than three minutes, left no trace, and casually walked back to buy my juice.

Ever since that night, Aria had been living a double life. By day, she was the cold campus president. By night, she was unleashing her family’s entire intelligence network to hunt down the nameless, masked monster who had saved her family. But more than that, she was starting to notice the weird rumors about a student who always vanished right before chaos struck.

"Still no trace?" Aria whispered fiercely into her phone, her voice dropping to a dangerous, icy tone. "I don’t care how much it costs. The man who saved me possesses superhuman strength. But I also want the files on every student who was near the north gate during the ambush. There are reports of someone vanishing from the crowd right before the fight started."

I sat just one seat away, quietly taking a sip of my coffee, maintaining my usual calm demeanor. She was already growing obsessed with the mystery, completely unaware that the ghost she was hunting was the guy currently turning the page of a economics textbook right next to her.

The lecture ended an hour later. As I walked out into the bustling, sunlit courtyard of the university, I pulled out my phone. It instantly vibrated with a secure, encrypted alert.

Someone was trying to bypass my phone’s firewall.

I leaned against a brick pillar, my fingers moving across the screen with steady, unbothered precision. Using my author knowledge of the city’s digital infrastructure, I effortlessly routed the tracking signal into a dead-end server loop, blocking the attack.

Across the courtyard, sitting on a stone bench under a cherry blossom tree, was Chloe Valentine—the brilliant, silver-haired hacker and underground information broker. I had saved Chloe from a brutal cyber-gang a month ago by physically dragging her out of a burning basement while bullets deflected off my reinforced jacket.

Right now, Chloe slammed her laptop shut, biting her lower lip in pure irritation. She looked around the courtyard, her eyes passing right over me. To her, I was just a regular guy walking past. But she, too, was looking for a pattern. Her data showed that every time her savior appeared in the city’s blind spots, a certain wealthy student named Ren Kurogane mysteriously went off the digital grid entirely.

"Ren-senpai! Watch out!"

A sudden, cheerful shout echoed from behind me. Before I could turn, a petite figure lunged forward, intentionally tripping over her own feet to fall toward me.

It was Mia Asakura, the bubbly blonde underclassman with her hair tied in adorable twin tails. She looked like a cute, clumsy girl, but she was the daughter of a legendary assassin syndicate boss. I had saved her from a rival syndicate ambush a few weeks ago, vanishing from a cafe booth right before the bullets flew, only to reappear as a masked blur that crushed her attackers.

I caught her by the elbow smoothly, using just a normal, firm grip to balance her without showing off any supernatural strength. "Careful, Asakura-san," I said with a calm, friendly smile.

"Ah! Thank you, Kurogane-senpai!" Mia chirped, her eyes shining brightly. But underneath her innocent smile, her gaze was sharp, analyzing my posture. Mia wasn’t looking for a weakling; she was looking for a man who possessed perfect balance. She noticed how easily I caught her, and her eyes narrowed slightly with deep curiosity. "Another coincidence? He was at the cafe, and now he stands perfectly still under pressure..." she muttered internally.

Lastly, as I walked toward the campus exit, I passed a quiet, shaded bench. Sitting there was Kaguya Hayashi, the girl with midnight-black hair, sharp straight bangs, and intense crimson eyes. She was a lethal, silent blade from a traditional shadow clan. I had saved her from a fatal poison trap by using my advanced sensory control to filter the air and carry her to safety.

Kaguya didn’t know my face, but her clan’s insticts were sharp. As I walked past her bench at a normal, steady pace, she watched me intently. She was compiling a mental list of every student who seemed to always "evacuate" or "disappear" seconds before an underworld incident occurred.

All four of them were supposed to eventually cross paths with Haruto Kirishima, the original protagonist of my novel.

I looked toward the campus convenience store. There Haruto was, sitting on the curb, eating a plain piece of bread, completely ignored by the universe. He looked thoroughly bored. The heroines didn’t even know his name. Their minds, their resources, and their growing, dangerous fixations were entirely focused on a ghost who had a bad habit of vanishing from plain sight.

I could easily use my hidden, monstrous strength to run away to another city, or even another country. I was strong enough to face an army. But as I looked back at the university gates, realizing that all four powerful, dangerous girls were slowly putting the pieces of the puzzle together based on my weird disappearances, a cold sweat broke down my neck.

They didn’t know who I was today. But when they finally connect my vanishing acts to their savior, this normal campus life will end. And I will be the only prize they want to lock away forever.
