Many people see pirates as a bunch of villains, hooligans, disenfranchised barbarians from civilized society. In a sense, this secular view is not a problem, and those who become pirates have little cleanliness, so people naturally think that a city run by pirates is full of chaos and evil.

However, as Zhang Heng currently sees it, this statement may be biased.

Indeed, leaving thousands of drunk, fightable, energetic pirates in the same city, you can hardly expect them to share their lives without causing trouble, which is why Nassau is always so lively every day, but if you want to look more closely, instead of focusing your eyes on street fights or the wind jealousy in front of the buffet, you may be able to see the order that lies in them through the chaos on the surface.

Around sixty-three years ago, the first European immigrants stepped onto the land and built a fortress and a pool, initially referred to as Charles Town in memory of King Charles, but soon the inhabitants of the island discovered that honest land reclamation and fishing were far from luring nearby vessels into collision with the reef under inclement weather and then looting money quickly, so that most of the men on the island began piracy, and gradually they were no longer content to wait for vessels to unfortunately touch the reef and take the initiative.

At the same time, the unique geographical environment of the Bahamas has attracted the attention of other pirates, whose large and small islands can help them to hide from warships and who objectively need a supply and distribution base for looting around the Caribbean Sea.

It is against this background that Nassau was born, the name of which originated from a British prince, but ironically it turned out to be a pirate kingdom.

Over the years, Nassau has developed a unique business system.

Pirates looted the sea and sold the seized goods to the island's black merchants, who, through their relationships, transported the stolen goods nearby to ports such as Charleston, New York and Boston, turning them into legal commodities and enjoying super high profits with little risk.

This is the biggest business on the island, and most of the rest of the business is based on it, like those buoys, casinos, taverns that make silver coins that pirates get, while experts assess the value of loot that pirates rob, some intelligence dealers sell the information they get about merchant ships in taverns, and fishermen's villains here are natural complements to sailors, and some bold arms dealers and slave traders are active here.

There is no nominal ruler in Nassau, and it is an organization similar to the Parliament that is responsible for maintaining order, comprised of all sorts of people, including black merchants, captains of pirate ships, landowners of the island… they operate the city together.

Zhang Heng guessed that the criterion for the so-called build-up of power in the mainline mission should be that of joining the island's parliament, which was not easy, among which landowners could exclude first. These guys were basically the first people to come to the island, with their own plantations and private armed forces, which was not very realistic for him, who now had only 20 silver pesos in his entire household.

And the road to becoming a hacker is obviously more difficult. It is almost impossible to get a cargo ship transporting thieves through customs without background in the upper society. In fact, there are a number of hackers on the island with small families, who use the power of the family to wander around the colonial governorate and customs, bribe officials there and legalize smuggling, which is not something ordinary people can do.

So it looks like the only way around this circle is to become a captain of a pirate ship.

But it's also not easy, don't say that the famous pirates in history, even in this era of nobody, can lead the whole ship, let the untamed pirates go out to sea according to their orders, there are two brushes, Zhang Heng knows that there is still a lot to learn.

He wasn't in a hurry, though he had a lot to learn, but he had plenty of time.

Four days later, the Sea Lion assembled all the crew and sailed again to begin her journey, which was also the first time Zhang Heng stepped onto the battleship, a formerly Fraser sailboat, one of the best pirate ships in the entire Nassau seaport, with 32 artillery, including 24 9-pound artillery guns and eight 12-pound artillery, with an overwhelming firepower advantage over the prey.

This time they received information that they were planning to loot a Dutch supply ship and a Spanish merchant ship.

Zhang Heng performed very well in the battle and succeeded in saving three of his companions with a short gun, which also allowed him to be further accepted by the pirates. Unlike Marvin, Zhang Heng did not flee after joining the Sea Lion. Instead, he rented a house in Nassau instead of sleeping in a hotel. It appeared that he was ready to stay permanently.

This also gave him a lot of points. On this occasion, Zhang Heng made a request to Owen to teach him how to fight a melee. Zhang Heng has learned from other sailors that Owen is the best pirate on board.

Owen was a promising young officer, but because something offended his boss, the latter sent him to the most dangerous place to complete an impossible task. Owen killed his boss, and then had to flee to Nassau to become a pirate.

Unlike most pirates, Owen's integrity and retention of some of his style at Naval School made him look a little out of place at first, but once the pirates learned who he was, they were willing to make friends with him, especially at the forefront of every battle, winning a lot of good feelings.

When the original sailor on board died, the pirates pushed Owen to become the new sailor.
