48 Hours a Day

Chapter 1102 Pebbles and Letters

This is a world without any life.

When Zhang Heng first saw it, he thought he had returned to the moon because there was nothing here but the pitted surface, and the island was filled with dead silence and desolation.

Both dirt and rock are dark red, as if some prank had deliberately painted them with fuel, and when Zhang Heng tried to cut off a rock with the [sheath], he found that there was still red viscous liquid flowing out of the incision, as if it were blood flowing through the blood vessels.

And the red rocks on the whole island are extraordinarily numerous and scattered, and they are surrounded by red pebbles, although they are generally bigger and fuller than the average pebble, and actually more like eggs in shape.

Zhang Heng picked up one and kowtowed on the red rock. As a result, the rock all kowtowed a corner, but the egg-shaped pebble was safe.

So Zhang Heng used the [hidden sheath] again, but this time it took a little effort to shave the red pebble, revealing what was inside.

It was a freshly formed serpent embryo, and there was life, at least it was still alive when Zhang Henggang cut the pebble, the body twisted a few times, but obviously it had not grown to the point where it could break out of the shell, because it could no longer be released early from the egg drops, struggled on the ground, seemed to want to climb back into the cut red pebble, but the next moment Zhang Hengdian stepped on his tail.

Zhang Heng wanted to see what the little snake in the red pebble was capable of, but he saw that the little snake struggled slower and slower. Less than a minute later, he stopped moving on the ground.

Zhang Heng then tried to kick the little snake with his toe, and the latter didn't react. Given his age, he basically ruled out the possibility of fake death, so Zhang Heng stabbed [the sheath] 's knife tip into the snake's abdomen, from there all the way up until his jaw was cut open.

Zhang Heng squatted down, examined the body of the little snake, and found that it was no different in physiological structure than a regular snake apart from living in that sturdy red pebble.

This is good news for Zhang Heng.

Because of the number of red rocks on the island, there are countless red pebbles near the rocks. If each pebble has a little snake hidden in it and these little snakes have any special means of attack, then when they break out of the shell, even if T-148 is in hand, Zhang Heng will probably have to jump off the sea and escape.

But at least it doesn't seem to happen now, and the dead snake reminded Zhang Heng of something. He closed his eyes and thought for a moment, inserting [the sheath] back into his waist and continuing towards the center of the island.

Zhang Heng had a feeling there was something waiting for him.

…………

In the station.

Although Fan Mei Male had to agree to Zhang Heng's request to stay above, she herself did not intend to just sit there and wait. This station, even if not Yemengaard's nest, is an important venue for its activities. Fan Mei Male still hopes to find some clues against Yemengaard.

Those gods and creatures that appear in Nordic mythology are probably the most human-like of all myths. Almost everyone has all sorts of seven-seven desires, will be jealous and will fall into fury, and like humans, there are weaknesses, and there are some seemingly powerful gods or creatures, even instant death weaknesses.

Probably the most famous of these was Badr, who was killed by a parasite. Badr, the god of light, one day dreamed of his death, and his mother was terrified when she found out, so she asked everything in the world to swear to her, never to hurt Badr, weapons, stones, even diseases and flowers.

Only the Solitaire parasite was too weak to be asked to swear, which was later learned by Loki, so Loki, who was not big enough, and Hoddell, the dark god who had a contradiction with Baddell the Light god, threw a parasite at Baddell, and eventually Baddell, the Light god of the Hall, was parasitized through his chest, and Loki was punished by the gods for this, and eventually fought the gods completely against each other, but these were the latter words.

All in all, this story seems to suggest that the Nordic gods have separate Achilles heels.

Fan Mei, while recalling the Nordic mythology related to Jemengade, wanted to find out the weaknesses of the latter, while checking the station, the side of Maru also wanted to help, but Fan Mei Mandy refused, mainly because the latter didn't know what to look into even if they joined.

But Fan Mei also found some work for Maru, who was really idle and had nothing to do. He asked him to turn over the snake bodies and see if he could find enough long snake bodies to climb down the pit.

So the next two people started to split up.

Maru picked up the snake body on the second floor, and Fan Mei Man returned to the second floor. She held up her flashlight and swept past every corner of the station a little bit, leaving no trace of the spider behind. As a result, her kind of stretching search actually received results.

Fan Mei man found a momentary mark behind a load bearing column. At first, she didn't care much about the momentary mark. She thought it was just normal wear and tear in the building process, but then looked at the second time, Fan Mei man sensed the laws contained in those marks.

These marks were not caused by accidental collisions, but were deliberately left behind. Fan Mei tried to erase the dust accumulated on the columns, revealing the distorted lines below.

- It's there, dangerous!

Where is it, dangerous?

Fan Mei Man didn't expect to see the handwriting left by anyone but them here. Considering that this place has been abandoned for more than 50 years and completely reduced to a snake nest, this line can be traced back to more than 50 years ago, when this subway line was still under construction.

Who will be the owner of it, some construction worker back then? Fan Mei Male remembered the missing worker in the story of Maru and wondered if the word would be left behind to warn future generations.

But the phrase was somewhat too vague, and the one where it was, it didn't know who it was referring to, did it, and it didn't know where it was in the second half of the sentence.

But Fan Mei Man did read from this sentence that someone had been here before them, and the last word of danger was engraved very hard, and it was as if something terrible was about to happen to him as the nervousness in the heart of the person who left it behind.

And while Fan Mei was squatting there studying the handwriting on the weight bearing column, in the tunnel on the other side of the platform, a pair of eyes were quietly measuring her.
