A Chronicle of Life in a Different World
Episode 481: The Fox Ear Girl and The Monster Eater
Three days have passed since the Messenger of Leurus on the Narrator visited.
In the meantime, Eliza and Meer each encouraged training, and Reus spent time checking for monsters near the town of Speranza. We can't get that far so that the magic connection of the "contract" can't be interrupted, but for that time, we'll walk around the town to lice and check for signs of monsters.
However, even though the current town of Speranza is transformed into a human being by 'change', Vanier did not encounter monsters after about three days of exploration. Alternatively, it might have been perceived as a dangerous place by hunting all the monsters around the town of Speranza.
Since there was one incident in the town of Lemona, the Reurus is not short of magic, but rather has the feeling of accumulating up to the upper limit, but if the monster doesn't come along like this, it is likely to cause trouble in the future.
Of course, if you look at the map, it doesn't mean that all the monsters will disappear from Baron Amondola's territory, both vertically and horizontally. There should still be many monsters living away from the town of Speranza.
"... I thought I was wasting my time thinking it was a three-day vacation."
…… Tina thinks peace is a good thing. "
As she explored the woods and murmured, Tina responded. As always, the bishops of Gregory are watching, but Eliza and Meer are being trained, and Sarah and Neddy are being held in a dwarf workshop that took three days to complete.
For now, there is nothing Leurus can do about it, so we are guarding the area around the town of Speranza, but once the workshop is fully operational, we will be able to take time to create new weapons and armor.
There is nothing particularly problematic about Reurus acting alone with Tina. I don't know if it's in perfect condition, but even if Tina attacked us with most of her magic in battle in the town of Lemona, even an ill-equipped Reurus can afford to deal with it.
Because there is a "contract" connection even if anything happens, I was supposed to use "calorie release" to inform you when something happens.
(But I'm not sure if you're a Gregorian bishop....)
Reurus looks sideways at Tina walking next door with her footsteps up.
Tina was wearing clothes she borrowed from Eliza and Meer, rather than misdressing herself. However, it seems uncomfortable not to change clothes for days, but there are no kimonos in the town of Speranza.
That's why I borrowed Meer's jacket, and Eliza's skirt below. All I could think of was Meer's personal clothes, given her height, but Meer basically only had pants and Tina's tail couldn't get in the way.
I couldn't help but borrow a skirt from Eliza to drill a hole in her borrowed trousers. The tail is lifting the back of the skirt, but it looks better than pushing it into your pants.
"What's wrong with Tina?
Tina looks strange because she feels Reurus's gaze. It seems that she only feels doubt, and Reurus with pure eyes scratched her cheeks in trouble.
"No... I can't believe you only look like a girl when you just look where you're walking."
I think it's a fox on my head and I have ears, and a tail on my buttocks, but I don't get any particular emotion from the revulsion.
Because there is a vanilla who does' change 'with precision that can only be seen by humans, because there is a wide variety of spirits and dwarfs in the blood sucking species, and even if there is a fox ear and a tail, I only thought it was “that kind of existence”.
"It's just... a girl..."
A fox ear was a realuse that looked around Tina's temples, wondering if she had a human ear, but noticed Tina leaked a complicated voice and raised her eyebrows.
"Hmm? Did I say something wrong?
In fact, Reurus wonders if there is anything he thinks about his appearance. Tina then pointed her head at the fox's ear.
"... what is this?
"Ears... right?
Reurus stares at the fox's ears without wondering if it's different. Tina then turned her right hand behind her back and grabbed her tail and showed it to Reurus.
"... what is this?
"Tail?"
When Reurus answers, Tina releases her tail.
(... maybe it's not a real ear or a tail, but a decoration like that... no, what are you going to do with that...)
If that were the case, it would shatter my impression of Chris and Tina, who I thought were “decent” for a Gregorian bishop. Of course, even if it were, Reurus would only see it with warm eyes if it were personal freedom.
"Ah... actually, is that your ear and tail?
"Why are you honoring me... this is real. Really, ears and tails...."
That said, Tina's fox ears twitched. The tail was also shaking small to the left and right, whether it could be moved by its own will.
"I see....."
"Mmm...."
I wonder what this conversation is, Reurus thought. Neddy has a similar atmosphere, but Tina is more calm than Neddy. Neddy is a Neddy, and sometimes he does things without a flash.
"... do you have anything else to say?
"Eh? Even if they say something... hmm... can you hear me well?
I don't remember the exact number of differences, but there must have been a huge difference in the smell and hearing of animals compared to humans in the previous life. Tina leans her neck as Reurus asks, thinking that the fox's ear sounds good.
"I don't know because I've never compared it to other people."
"Ah, I see... then let's give it a try"
That's how Reurus picks up the pebble at his feet and throws it hard. The surroundings of the forest make it impossible to measure flight distances, but at least a few dozen meters lightly would have gone far.
"Did you hear the sound of plundering the leaves along the way...? How's it going?
"I heard stones fall to the ground. It's about 57 melts away."
"That's not exactly accurate..."
If you can find the source of sound in meters in a forest where you can't see well, you probably have good hearing.
"Normally, not so much, but if you concentrate, you can hear me."
"Heh... it's useful for searching for enemies. But it's too loud and painful in battle, isn't it?
"Here's what I'll do then."
Tina slays the fox's ears. The Reurus who saw it clapped unexpectedly.
"Oh... that's amazing. I mean, what does it feel like to be able to move your ears..."
There are people in the world who can move their ears by their own will, but Reurus is not. Praising her for that, Tina somehow lost her sight.
(Is that it? I knew there was something I thought about ears and tails... but the tails are shaking.)
Not so loud as to make a sound, but Reurus tilts his neck as he sees his tail swaying from side to side. Is it some kind of emotional expression or just a coincidence?
"... I've always thought you were a strange person."
"Unusual... well, it seems strange enough to get a note from the Spirit (Neddy)"
"Hennako", Neddy said, doesn't mean personality, but Reurus laughs because he thinks he can't nod if asked if it's normal.
"That town, too, is weird. I'm still working on it, but the Fire Dragon lives with humans, both subhuman and spiritual."
"Weird? Everyone in town was confused at first, but they got used to it quickly, and there were times when Dwarves and adventurers were drinking together in the abandoned city of Laval?
It was a Reurus who said that, but I think back to the old abandoned city of Laval and I am convinced.
(Speaking of which, there used to be only humans... because I brought them in.)
I didn't hear that any of the subordinates lived before Eliza. For this reason, I can understand what Tina wants to say, but the “current state” was becoming normal as a realuse.
"Strange town, strange people... back then, like this..."
Tina murmurs something with a small voice that doesn't sound like Reurus. Reurus, who overheard it halfway through, tried to ask what it was - and immediately thought of it.
(No, wait... something's wrong...)
No matter how “decent” it may seem, I could not think of myself as "so far”, such as stepping into the nature of the Bishop of Gregory.
Of course, we don't have to kill each other because we're not hostile right now, but we shouldn't have been so casual or personal.
Reurus looked back at his mood and shook his head.
(If you're full, you'll feel “emotional”....)
I have noticed the growth of Eliza and Meer, but I don't feel that my emotions are moving much more than before. If that's a good thing or a bad thing, it's a good thing.
(We don't kill each other now, but we don't need to get used to each other, right? In its current state, it could be broken... is that suspicious?
I don't think we can kill each other unless we're hostile, Reurus. And change the subject while being careful not to put it on your face.
"Speaking of which, when are the two of you going to report back? If you flew in a winged dragon before we came back from Lemona, it's not strange that you should be back by now, right?
"That's... Tina is wondering. No matter how long Rebecca's Wing Dragon takes, it shouldn't take a week to get back and forth. Maybe something happened."
Do you realize that Reus changed the subject consciously or not? Tina answered the question honestly.
"Do you know what it is?
"That's exactly what I don't know. We found a monster to be defeated in an emergency, a client was involved... and even so, we should only be picking him up."
Rebecca alone can't deny that she forgot about Tina, but she won't, as long as Chris is with her.
(So... there might be something... and should you make a new weapon and armor as soon as possible?)
Reurus sighed when he said he didn't have time to calm down.
