A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 493: The Second Journey to King's Landing Part 2

The journey of the Reurus, who left the abandoned city of Laval, proceeded extremely smoothly.

Last time I went to King's Landing, it took about ten days, but this time it was going so well that I could arrive in a few days that didn't differ greatly.

Corona, who had been nervous at the beginning of the journey, was calm enough to be normal after two or three days.

Corona has never been out of Laval Waste Town, but I don't look very tired because I walk around town doing daily shopping and doing the physical work of cooking and serving customers.

"I thought traveling was a lot harder. As long as I heard about your father, he said there would be more monsters and bandits."

And now, five days after I began my journey, I still had room to say such things while walking on my own feet. As he walked behind the carriage and watched his surroundings, Reus smiled bitterly at the words of Corona he heard.

"Throw away that perception because it's wrong. The truth is... that's going to be misleading again, but if it's“ normal ”, it's even harder.

Reurus thought it would be better to answer, and Natalia, who was sitting in the podium with Nicolas, answered instead. It looked relaxed by blowing a smoke pipe, but Natalia wouldn't be the only one to be alarmed.

Really?

With the exception of Tina, who has only family members in the abandoned city of Laval, Corona asks honestly with her neck tilted. Natalia, who relaxed her cheeks slightly in the way of the corona, somehow turned the story towards Nicolas.

"Nicola, you know that, right?

"... why are you waving at me, Sebastian? Well, I'll answer for Corona, but I'm pretty sure it's a chaotic and easy journey so far. I don't suppose it's very common for other nobles to have so much power."

Nicolas answers grumpy, but that's true.

Sarah was able to trace the surrounding heat source to Eliza, who didn't see any low-level monsters. I am accompanying Natalia, who can be alerted by the wind, to Tina, who is now the Bishop of Gregory.

Now Eliza and Sarah are walking past the carriage, and Natalia is in the carriage seat, and Reus and Tina are behind the carriage, watching her surroundings. Meer and Neddy are also walking to the left and right of the carriage, and they have more than enough combat power and searchability.

Tina, who was supposed to accompany her for some reason, was also moving her head's fox ears twitching to explore the surrounding sound.

From the side, there will be many women, and there will not seem to be so many guards. Since men are only for Reurus and Nicolas, it is not strange for monsters to be considered “aiming” because of bandits and the like.

If you are a bandit or an eye-catcher, there are many women who are able to travel without any problems - that is, many who judge that there are many who stand up and drop off the raid, but it is not strange that there are people who are deceived by their appearance and decide to raid.

(There's Corona, and it's better not to attack because I don't want to show you too much excitement....)

I don't want to imitate killing all the bandits who attacked in front of Corona. Of course, if they attack, they will be slaughtered, but if the journey can proceed peacefully, that's better.

In fact, Sarah has detected a heat source that appears to be scouting several times, but she turns right and runs away. If the monsters continue to bandit outside the town, they may be better at detecting danger.

It was a realuse to think of such a thing, but because I was worried about Nicolas's remarks, I had doubts in my heart.

(Do you know how powerful the "nobles elsewhere” are?

At least I don't even know about Reurus, who's been traveling all over Mataroi. I saw some fighting power in the Earl of Werg's house, but that shouldn't have been all.

Was it an analogy of something or have you actually seen it? It was a Reurus who had doubts about Nicolas's remarks, but I wouldn't imitate confirming it here. Nicolas's discomfort hasn't been fixed since before she started her journey, and I was told that there was something deeply rooted.

Those were the Reurus who continued their journey, but Sarah stopped by surprise as she walked in front of the carriage. Then he turned to the forest, far from the street, and immediately rushed towards the carriage.

"I don't know, there's a heat source approaching from the forest. There's only one number, but the heat source is bigger than humans... maybe?

"A monster? What are you gonna do?

Nicolas asked while pulling the strings and slowing down the carriage a little. Natalia then looks towards the forest and blows the smoke pipe gently.

"Getting closer to Eliza would be at least an intermediate monster... just as good as good, right?"

That's how Natalia moves her gaze. Eliza and Meer were ahead of the line of sight.

"Eliza... and Meer, it's a corner, so try it on."

"Let's try it..."

"Am I with you?

Eliza squeezes her thunder wand and Mea looks suspicious. Then Reus, who heard Natalia's words, slightly tapped the "Dragon Slash" pattern and leaned his neck.

"If you need anything, I'll go.

"I don't think so, but if your opponent is advanced... no, if you have strength above intermediate level, help him. If not, what you're looking at. They need more experience than training."

That's right, but Natalia can cover Eliza and Meer even if they're far away. Even in a crisis situation, there was nothing to help with.

"Meer comes forward and Eliza is covered by magic. And Eliza is forbidden to use lightning magic. You can use it as much as you like, except for lightning magic, but don't hit Meer by mistake. You got it?

"Ugh... I see."

She was told not to use the magic of her best attribute, and Eliza nodded reluctantly. Mea, on the other hand, swinging her head gently to relieve her body, turned her gaze towards the forest.

(I wanted to try and slash him... with...)

As Natalia understands, Reurus gives Eliza and Meer a place to fight. Still, I thought about interrupting if the opponent was strong, but I threw the idea away into the appearance of a distant monster.

I thought I'd replace Hikuidori, called Kimira or Cars, but I was able to confirm it was a four-armed bear.

"Orzo... if that's the case, I don't think I need the help of Reurus."

"If this place were near Laval Waste City, it would be tough for us as adventurers.

"Good luck with that."

"I'm being reckless....."

Reurus thought it would be okay if the Bear was with him, but Nicolas had a different feeling. Exhale tirelessly to manipulate the rope and completely stop the carriage.

"Ah, well, what am I supposed to do..."

On this occasion, Corona, who had no means of fighting, turned to the right and left, but when he saw it, Reus immediately stood next to him and laughed.

"Eliza and Meer will be fine, and don't worry, I'll take care of it in case you come over here. Ah, but grossly... no, it might bleed, so you can rest in the carriage until it's cleared up..."

"... no, I'm watching it here too... yeah, I have to watch it."

And finally, Corona whispers to herself. It was a revulsion watching such a corona sideways, but if anything happens, we should be more vigilant so we can jump out immediately.

A bear called Orzo is of intermediate and lower strength, but it can only kill humans with a single blow, whether it's a low-level monster or a regular monster. It was a Reurus that Eliza and Meer believed would be fine, but unforeseen things could happen.

Beyond Reurus's gaze, which made him ready to move at any time, the battle between the Bear and Eliza, who had come out of the forest, began.

As instructed by Natalia, Meer, who was holding the knife, stepped forward and Eliza set out behind her to prepare for the magic. Meer didn't look scared, and she was packing her distance from the bears, which were many times longer than her physical condition.

And the bear that saw it rose up, and stood with two legs, and spread out four arms to intercept him. Meer stepped in without hesitation as she stared at such an idiot bear.

Yeeeeee!

Together with a cute and sophisticated voice, Meer waves her bears. At the same time, the roar sounded like punching through the air.

Guggi!?

Meer's speed was probably unexpected for a haunted bear. Standing up for an interception, the metallic barrel sinks deeply into the abdomen.

As the swayed hammer hits, a short scream rises from the mouth of the Bear. At the same time, the belly of the bear “waves" like throwing stones at the lake surface.

Meer's blow, which was increased by entering into a "contract" with Reus, seemed to be quite heavy, and the strength of the impact was transmitted with the sound of the bone crushing and breaking even when it was far away. If you look closely, the legs behind the Bear are rising from the ground because of the difference in height and the shape of the Bear rising diagonally from below.

"... I don't know."

Nicolas murmured as if she had just pulled the sight. She is gently stroking her stomach the same as if she had been beaten by an unconscious bear, and her mouth is pulled.

Ugh, gu, gaaaaaaaaaaahh!

But the Bear is not weak enough to die instantly with a single blow. Meer struck and her trembling legs landed on the ground, hanging her head and shaking down two of her four arms.

The Bear's arm has sharp claws, so if it hits, it will be torn apart.

"Wow... nnh!

Meer was a little surprised at the Bear's attack, but let go of her legs and put her arms above her head. Then I saw the arm of the swayed bear-- the position of the hook claw, and I grabbed the “wrist.”

Huh!?

Meer stopped her attack because of her poor health, and the haunted bear opened her eyes like she saw something incredible. Still, I moved the remaining two arms and shook them by pinching them in to cut Meer's neck.

But Meer isn't sweet enough to be snatched off easily. Pull the gripped arms downwards to inhibit the movement of the Bear's arm, then knock the Bear down behind you to disintegrate the Bear.

Then he changed his posture by rolling back while holding his arm, and hit his right foot on the abdomen of the molten bear and kicked it backwards.

It's a very anomalous barrage, and the Bear's eyes are black and white at the rise of its giant body.

"Elizabeth!

"Hmm. Now... don't stop!

I don't suppose you've ever thrown before in your life. The haunted bear, who was massively knocked on the ground, rolled around on the spot so that he couldn't understand what was happening, and waved down Eliza's right hand, which she saw.

It was the blade of the wind that was released. Compared to what Natalia deals with, it is still slow to activate, has a sweet magic workout, and lacks power.

Still, the blade of the wind that was thrown by the haunted bear knocks its neck off like a guillotine.

"Hmm!?

Corona, who had witnessed the moment, shouted with a breathtaking voice and laid her hands on her mouth.

Eliza and Meer remained unconscious until they confirmed that the Bear was definitely dead, holding their wands and hammers. And after about ten seconds to make sure that the bears didn't move, he exhaled to relieve.

"Yakiniku tonight! Takusa, I'm gonna bake it!

And when she saw the bears breathing out, Sarah ran away with great joy. Eliza and Sarah quickly grasp the dagger, dismantle the Bear, and start bleeding. Seeing it, Neddy ran silently after Sarah saying she would need water.

"Five... no, like forty points."

"They're both intact, but aren't they that bad?

"Isn't it tough?

Natalia leaked when she saw how Eliza and Meer had been fighting, and Reurus and Nicolas wondered. Eliza and Meer were both intact and finished the fight, so I thought I wouldn't have to score that hard.

"If Meer hadn't thrown it out of the way, he'd have lost his posture by hitting the ground with a hammer... and taking Orzo's attack was a reduction. Even with Eliza, magic is sweet and wasteful."

"I don't know... I can't say anything because I'm not good at magic."

Well, if that's what Sada-san says, then what?

Neither Reurus nor Nicolas can complain about Natalia's grades any further, but accept the settlement of the battle as a matter of course. But only Corona was shaking her shoulders slightly as to what she thought of Eliza's first battle with Meer.

"... this is the battle of adventurers"

From a corona far from violence, the sight in front of me was somewhat shocking. Sometimes it is used as a ingredient for cooking by eating horny rabbits, but there was no chance of seeing a living monster die.

Corona was struck by the fact that it was younger Eliza and Meer who made it.

Tina secretly shook her head to the side saying, "Ordinary adventurers aren't that strong," but Corona never noticed.
