A Chronicle of Life in a Different World
Episode 603: Traveling with the Way Part 1
Leurus, who bid farewell to Dominic, leaves the abandoned city of Laval while the other inhabitants bid farewell.
Reulus and Eliza alone go straight through the woods to the town of Speranza, but this time there are also carriages accompanied by Leviria and Corona. As a result, I decided to follow the street quietly.
Even as an adventurer, Reulus was now a baronet. There was no blame for passing through the streets, and it was Reulus who took a positive view in that regard.
Sarah is alert to monsters and bandits by sensing heat sources, and if she's a junior monster, she can't avoid Eliza.
Even if an intermediate or better monster attacked, Reulus and Eliza weren't the only ones who could fight. Chris and Tina, the Graego bishops, accompany them to Zilva, where there will be negotiations with the spirituals who will be gathered in the town of Speranza.
If I thought about it in terms of power, I would be able to deal with more advanced monsters than intermediate ones. Reulus thought that if it wasn't for the fact that it was one of the more advanced monsters like Varnil, it wouldn't be a problem.
(In other words, Tina and Chris are all about normal things... they seem to be more nostalgic for Corona than before.)
Reulus watched the two of them as he watched his surroundings.
Chris, wearing a fox face, stood on the roof of the carriage and showed the same vigilance to the surroundings as Reulus. However, Tina is riding in the carriage with the fox face off, sitting on her corona lap and talking about something.
From Reulus' eyes, Tina looked strangely nostalgic for the corona. Chris is alert, but from time to time he looks at the carriage at his feet to see if Tina and Corona are concerned about the conversation.
Hey, hey, Reulus, there's a heat source solidified on my route.
As Reulus watched Chris and Tina, Sarah, who was looking for enemies around her, shouted. Having heard that, Reulus switched his consciousness and turned his gaze to the distance, conscious of [Dragon Slash].
“Do you know the exact location and number? Does the opponent have any movement?"
"Hmm... more than a dozen ahead of us?" No movement... do you feel it? "
Apparently, Reulus determined that there was a group ahead of him on the road. However, I could not feel the murderous or sword-swallowing atmosphere, and Reulus tilted his neck.
(A group of merchants or travellers? It might be a patrolling soldier, but... it's not moving.)
The monsters and bandits might not be lining up on the street and waiting for them, but Reulus urged them to be vigilant, and then went straight ahead. Then, after checking the people who could see in the distance, he drew his eyebrows and approached.
"Good morning, Baroness Varza!" Are you sure you want to accompany us? "
There, Alice and the others, who were supposed to have broken up and headed for Laval the other day, waited.
Reunion in less than a week since we broke up with Alice and the others.
Although it is questionable whether Leurus was still in the vicinity of Laval, there is no reason to refuse to accompany him. There was no hurry, and there was no need to refuse to accompany me if I went down the street.
Unlike the hostiles, Reulus has no queue with Alice or the others. However, there were doubts even if there was no separation.
“I don't mind you coming with me, but where will you be going?”
As he went down the street for a moment, Reulus asked the young nobleman who had become acquainted with him on his way back from the capital. I could ask Alice, but I decided that I was most familiar with her behavior. Then the noble youth smiled bitterly.
It's the town of Speranza in the realm of the Baron Amendola.
…………
In response, Reulus inadvertently returns silence. I didn't hear anything from Natalia, but I was wondering if there was a problem visiting the land where the lord was absent.
(Sister didn't say anything... no, it's the trend of aristocrats elsewhere, so you decided you shouldn't say anything? Also, there is a Collard in the area....)
I'm close to Natalia, but I don't share information from one to ten. Some information shouldn't be shared with others.
At least there's a Corrado on the ground who works as a site manager. Reulus decided that Natalia's failure to teach was irrelevant whether she needed to know or not.
"I haven't heard anything from Baron Amendola... what can I do for you?"
Even so, Reulus began to explore lightly. Although Reulus himself thinks he is a title of fame, he is officially a baronet. You have every right to hear about the arrival of other aristocrats in the town of Spelanza, where you live.
(Because it's about Sis, it's possible she didn't say anything to train her judgment around here)
I was always in the mood of an adventurer. The nobleman's youth laughed bitterly at Reulus, who told him so.
"There's no shortage of opportunities for you to see for yourself where you're building your territory from scratch... has Baroness Varza ever visited a sparsely populated village?"
"There is......"
In the first place, the village of Shena was raised as a rural village. For Reulus, Laval's abandoned city is his home in this world, but it doesn't change where he was born.
"Recruit residents to create new rural areas, and create residential areas next to mines because minerals are found to come out." Such small-scale reclamation can happen from time to time depending on the territory, but we rarely get the chance to start from scratch in an almost untouched and vast territory where the lords live. So if I can see it, I'd like to see it. "
"I see... that's it?"
Reulus also thought it was not uncommon. However, as for Reulus, there was something that caught my eye.
(Take a lot of aristocrats around to say hello and take a tour of the reclamation... including that Alice?)
I understand that this is a rare opportunity, but should we take the risk? Compared to northern Mataroy, where Alice and her family live, the climate and climate of the Baron Amendola are different. There were parts that would be helpful, but something was wrong, and Reulus tilted his neck inside.
However, Leurus wasn't so proud that he thought he could do abdominal art to a raw noble opponent. Therefore, I stared at the eyes of the nobleman's youth and only explored whether I was thinking of anything bad.
(Do you have any feelings of hostility?)
At least there is no sign of plotting anything bad. Still, Leulus decided that it would be easy not to let the aristocrats understand their feelings. He decided to consult with the "expert".
So, what do you think Alice and Louville are doing here?
When she went down the street and took a short pause, Reulus got into the carriage and explained the situation to Ruvilia, taking care not to be noticed by Alice and the others. We may be too vigilant, but we're taking Corona and Lvillia. As a Reulus, I wanted to avoid trouble.
"As expected, I can't judge by that alone... but at least, as Leurus sensed, I'm not going to harm you." Even though it is being exploited, it is dangerous to plan for things that are not good on the land of other nobles. ”
"Is it dangerous...?"
Corona tilted her head at Ruvilia's words. Then Tina, who was spoilt by the corona, raised her face.
"If you don't care about the deterioration of the relationship with the nobility elsewhere, then the worst thing you can do is not come to that territory." Even though [Dust] is not on site, the lord is absolutely present in the territory. Even the king of this country is hard to say if the lords say, "These people didn't come."
"Fuji... erm, you mean Natalia-san, right? Huh? Nobles don't do that either..."
Leviria looks like Corona is puzzled. Ruvilia shook her head sideways in a panic.
"I-I 've never done anything like that before!?"
(I guess... yes, it's not uncommon for me to kill everyone, destroy evidence, and stamp out that I don't know anything about it... it's not uncommon for a monster to attack and die in this world, and it's possible that a bandit attacked me.)
Reulus nodded in admiration as the aristocrats started making noise. At the same time, Reulus thought that Tina shouldn't talk too much because her opponent was Corona.
"Komun... and even if there is no Baron Amendola, there is Reulus." Alice-sama can't even be nervous because she knows people, but she thinks it's odd if she hesitates to stop by from someone she doesn't know. With that in mind, the main purpose of the visit is to see the reclaimed land, as we discussed. ”
Leviria, who had coughed up, closed her mouth. However, there was something that was not convincing for Reulus.
Is a tour of the reclaimed land that you want to see with your own eyes?
There are words that do not match at first glance, but is there anything interesting about touring, or is there enough to make a dangerous journey over many days from a raw nobleman? With no knowledge of the area, Reulus bursts into question, and Ruvilia smiles bitterly.
"I don't know it as a real feeling... but it's an opportunity from a merchant, and I don't think it would be strange if I wanted to emigrate from someone who doesn't have a house or land to inherit."
While saying that, Ruvilia tilted her neck as if she was in trouble, putting her hand on her cheek.
"From the aristocratic point of view... yes, from the scale of the town, to what extent does Baron Amendola intend to develop the territory in the future, and what is the size of the newly built town in the first place?" If you look at how far towns are being built at the moment, you can guess the finances and the people and feet you have.... "
”So, these people aren't spies anywhere else... are they like secret agents?”
"That said, it was difficult to say." Alice-sama's territory is distant, and there is a question of what to do if you get the information... If you include Reulus-sama, Natalia-sama, and the spirituals, the territory will be abundant in fighting power, and the development of the territory and the identification of future special products with security as a guarantee, and you will form alliances and make deals as soon as possible..... "
It was Leviria who explained what she had in mind, but she eventually raised her eyebrows to her disappointment.
"I'm sorry, Reulus-sama. Oniisama would know better, but I don't know anymore..."
"No, it was good enough." Thank you, Ruvilia. "
At least it wasn't to Alice's detriment, Reulus agreed. I guess they were gathering intel on the southern part of Mataroy in the name of greeting people around. I was very impressed with the posture of walking on my own feet and checking it with my own eyes, even as a Reulus.
(I thought nobility was a privileged position, but it's a lot of trouble...)
Information is also a weapon. Everyone knew what information to use, but Reulus thought so.
And two days later.
After half a day's journey to reach the town of Speranza, Reulus was hailed by a well-spoken nobleman.
May I ask you a favor, Baroness Varza?
I beg you, sir?
There were no particular problems on the journey, and Reulus thought that this would allow him to return to the town of Speranza without any problems. Therefore, tilting his neck, the noble youth turned his gaze to several soldiers straddling the horse.
"I'm going to send a forward-thinking ambassador to the other party, but to prove that I'm a forward-thinking ambassador, I'd like a note from Baroness Varza... I don't think there's a problem with just the ambassador, but I don't want to make extra waves."
"Ahh... you have to be concerned about that too, right?"
Reulus thought that the messenger's mouth alone seemed good, but it would be helpful if you could tell him that they would arrive together.
Reulus thought so - a voice came from the side.
"Then I'll accompany the messenger." If I were you, I'd know Collard and the others. "
It was Jilba who called out. It was strangely enthusiastic to worry about the spiritualists who would be gathered there.
"That's helpful, but can you follow the horse... if you're Jilba-san"
The soldiers who were trying to ride horses as messengers were armed with spears, partial armor, and a minimum of light equipment. Therefore, it will be difficult for an adult to follow, but Jiluba is not an adult.
“Yeah, that's a good exercise.”
Can I ask you a favor?
These days, Zilva is constantly working to create a great place of prayer for Sarah and Neddy in the town of Speranza. Therefore, it would be better to send it out than to stop it. Also, it was thought that if Jiluba was with him, the monster would attack him and the messenger would not be missing.
(King's Landing... no, even in the Laval Abandoned City, it was like that when nobles from other places visited me on business, but I sent out a forewarning messenger to confirm their plans... it was troublesome or hard...)
As for Reulus, I wonder if it would be troublesome to send messengers every time. But I have to do the same from now on. After thinking that much, Leulus unexpectedly put his hand on his face.
(When something happens, can I be forewarned as an emissary...... Eliza? There's a courtesy for aristocrats, and they can operate out of town... right? Do I have to worry about that area from now on?)
Going back to the town of Spelanza will reduce your chances of going out, but it won't be a joke if you don't have enough people. As a Reulus, I felt like retreating to Natalia's territory for the rest of my life, or even going out and about in Laval's abandoned city.
(If you also tell me about it... is this also going to be in the Baroness Varza's house? Too much talk to Ruvilia.)
As a Reulus, I didn't want to become a nobleman. I would rather return the title of Associate Baron if I could. However, beyond the difficulty, we must at least stand face to face.
Reulus thought that it might have been best to choose Ruviria as his marriage partner. Mochi is a mochi shop, and it's best to ask the nobility about the nobility.
Reulus and the others continued their journey, but without any particular incident, they entered the Realm of the Baron Amendola. It was a peaceful and safe journey, with no monsters or bandits attacking.
(...... you're back.)
It was when I returned to Raval Abandoned City, but as the town of Speranza approached, that feeling sprang up in Reulus' chest.
It's the first place in the world to be accepted, and it's being built with the people of the Raval Abandoned City. The period of time spent in each place was different, and for Reulus, it was a place to return to.
"It's been less than a year since we started pioneering, but the road is solid."
"I heard that although other nobles were initially exploring the land, it was abandoned in the end..."
"There is also a possibility that the road that we developed when we explored it before is still firmly left..."
As the town of Speranza draws near, the nobles of northern Mataroy who are accompanying her exchange their words in bewilderment. Reulus, who picked up the voice, turned his gaze to his feet, but when he was told, the road seemed more solid than when he headed to the King's city.
(Is it because you're a carriage or a merchant going back and forth...? Because it's about Mr. Collard, it's possible that Calvin's lads are working on the road....)
Road maintenance is important, but it's probably more important than that to build the town of Speranza. If you think about it, it may be that the trails of nature and dirt were tightened by the exchanges of merchants and so on.
As Reulus went down the road thinking about it, the town of Speranza gradually began to appear. There has been no significant change in the appearance of the earth walls and boreholes. However, the lookout tower built in the four corners of the town had the appearance of an adventurer who thought he was a lookout, and Reulus seemed to have a good gaze in the distance.
I guess Reulus and the others kept watch while they were away. I see a guard screaming something under my nose. Reulus slowly opens the gates of the town of Speranza, perhaps conveying his arrival.
"Oh... finally... you're finally back!"
Compared to before we headed to the King's City, Corrard, who seemed somewhere stuck, greeted us with a smile.
