A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 47: Visitors in the Rain Part 1

Reurus, who spent about two hours picking clothes at the clothing store, returned to Dominic's restaurant with his feet.

Eliza had the clothes bought by Reurus in her hand and smiled upliftingly. Easy-to-move shirts and trousers were worn when working as adventurers, plus shirts and skirts for personal clothes, plus three underwear changes.

"Mr. Reurus, are you sure you're glad you bought it for me?

"Oh, I've always looked after you. I went out of my way to go shopping today, and thank you for that."

And Corona was given a ribbon to keep her warm. If it was too expensive, the corona would refrain from repairing the cheap but fairly good quality peach ribbon and gave it as a gift as usual.

Instead, I don't have anything bought by Reurus. I only took it back because the repairs to my nails were completed in the two hours I spent shopping. The nail was repaired in a short amount of time as the clasps were reworn and the holes were only blocked with leather.

"I want to go home and get dressed quickly... this is the first time I've been given a gift from someone other than my family!

"Fufu... that's good."

Corona also smiled deeply at Eliza as she jumped happily even as the mud jumped. I only partitioned the garment store with a piece of cloth, but there was a fitting room and I tried it on to make sure it suited my body, but I couldn't wait to wear it as Eliza immediately.

(There was an apology, but the child's smile is priceless... is it priceless? It didn't mean anything wrong, did it?

It was a revulsion with cheeks loosened in delighted Eliza's appearance, but the cloth bag instead of the pocket wallet became much lighter.

By purchasing in bulk, I had only four silver coins, including a present for Corona, but two thirds of the money I earned yesterday flew. Including the cost of repairing the nails, we lost three quarters.

I hated myself about which mouth I suggested Eliza save, but when I saw Eliza jumping around with pleasure, I didn't think it was a bad use.

Reurus nodded many times to convince himself, and one day Corona next to him smiled.

"I'll take care of this hair fastener, right? I'll always take care of it."

Despite the heavy rain, Corona's smile is as warm as the blue sky. The smiled Reus scratched his head thinking, "I knew it wasn't a mistake."

"What do you say? How about that? Does it suit you?

As soon as she returned to Dominic's restaurant, Eliza pulled into the storage and quickly changed into her personal clothes. Then turn instantly to show off and ask Reurus for feedback.

"Oh, it looks good. It looks good. Cute, cute."

"Fufufu... that's right! Thank you for buying, I'm so glad!

I had a similar exchange with the Adventurers Association before, but this time Eliza had a smile in her heart. A childish, pure, dazzling smile.

The personal clothes bought by Reurus are a long sleeve blouse with buttons on the front and a skirt up to the knee length. It was too much to say that Eliza looked like one of those ladies when she dressed up, but she looked more like a normal town girl of her age than an adventurer.

By the way, when I turned, my skirt rolled up and I saw pumpkin pants, but it was a realuse that I judged to be like showing pants and didn't touch.

The blouse was light yellow and the skirt was light blue and plain, close to black, but Eliza would be enough. Laughing happily, he was alone in a fashion show around Reurus.

"There are a few pieces of cloth, and if Elizabeth is okay, I'll adorn them.

"What!? Corona is amazing... not only at cooking but also at sewing!

Corona smiled at Eliza, who was happily circling around. Upon hearing that, Eliza opened her eyes and praised Corona.

She seems to have gotten along a lot because she went shopping for clothes together. It would be better for Eliza to have someone close to her who can speak in same-sex relationships.

Does Corona say "decoration” mean adding something like ruffles? I can't imagine a revulsion where I hardly sewed in my previous life, but the ruffled clothes would suit Eliza's appearance.

Reurus worried about what to do in the extra time while dealing with Eliza, who was moving around.

It took a lot of time to shop, but it wasn't even noon. Dominic didn't say anything today, even though he usually told me to leave because he was preparing to open the store. I don't have the cold to throw my family out in the heavy rain.

Then you can help Dominic, or you can teach Eliza how to write. It's okay to rest, but Reurus laughs bitterly, wondering if it's the impact of life until now that you don't calm down if you don't do something.

"--I 'm sorry."

When Reurus was thinking about how to crush time, such a voice echoed along with a regular knock. A man stands at the entrance to the store when Reurus looks at him caught in the sound.

(... how long have you been there?

The sound of rain bothered me, but I didn't notice any sign of the man until I could hear him from the store entrance. Surprised by the fact, Reurus reflexively reached out to the dagger pattern on the back of his waist.

Would the man be about forty years old if he judged by his appearance alone? The short cut hair is white in color, but the spine is straight, and there is no difference in height from Dominic. Still, I could see the “thickness” of the body even though it was thin, and I didn't understand the age.

Men are wearing black top and bottom clothes and hanging necklaces engraved with feminine relief. He had a soft basket that he thought had been knitted with vines in his hand, and it looked like he had something in it.

"I heard there's a young man here named Reurus... Oh, is that you?

That said, the majestic man gave a gentle smile to Reurus.

"... to where?

At least I've never seen him before. There is no revulsion enough to forget the man in front of you who is more impressed.

The man lowered his head in an apologetic manner as to what he thought of the vigilant revus.

"Excuse me... my name is Gilba. Please forgive my sudden visit."

"Ah, this is very polite. My name is Reurus."

It is a revulsion that deals with ex-salaries in the same way as if they were greeted politely. If I had a business card, I would have given it to you.

A man with a lowered head - lowers his head with his hands off the dagger, imitating Gilba.

"So, Mr. Gilba? Can I help you?

Still, if you don't ask me what's going on, I won't be able to get you out of full alert. There must have been some purpose beyond knowing where Reurus lived.

As a confirmation, I looked at Dominic who was supposed to be in the kitchen and for some reason he looked steep. Apparently Dominic knows his face.

"You... why are you here?

"This is Dominic. It's been a long time. What's more, it seems to be magnificent."

In contrast to Dominique, whose tone itself is steep, Gilba deepened her smile with a feeling of intimacy.

"Oh-san?

"... not someone harmful, but at least not someone who can be alarmed."

Dominic likes Gilba when Reurus leans his neck. Reurus was surprised to find Dominique, one of the most powerful players in the abandoned city of Laval, and Corona whispered.

"Jilba is a spiritualist. I'm Esther's assistant."

"What? Ah, ahh... I thought you said you had an assistant."

Speaking of which, Reurus convinces me. Knowing not only Dominic but also Corona is a well-known figure in the abandoned city of Laval.

Gilba came into the store with a soft smile and bowed with her right hand on her chest.

"Gilba the Spirit. The other day we received a large donation from the church... I apologize for the delay in greeting you. Because there are young children, Esther cannot leave the church, and I am sorry to be a substitute, but it is up to me to thank you and apologize."

"Oh, no, don't worry. I was cured of my injuries."

Apparently Reurus is here again to thank us for donating three gold coins. Gilba holds the basket in her hand with a smile on her face and shows the contents.

"This is a vegetable made by children in the field behind the church. I'm sorry to say this, but I want to thank you for your donation."

What was in the basket was, as Zilba said, vegetables. It contains a total of about ten vegetables that resemble peppers, onions, and tomatoes.

As a tribute to the donation of three gold coins, it would certainly be modest. Still, I didn't make a donation because I wanted a reward, but I sent my eyes to Dominic wondering if it was okay to receive it.

If there was no one beside me, I might have received it honestly, but the balance of power between the abandoned city of Laval and Spiritualism needs to be borne in mind.

Reurus is already a resident of the abandoned city of Laval, and he doesn't know how far to go against Spiritualism, the “outside” force.

"Reurus gave me money to pay for my injuries. I don't owe you... that's it, right?

Cognizant of his gaze for help from Reurus, Dominic turns his harsh face into something even more steeper. However, Jilba nodded bitterly as if she had anticipated such Dominic's words.

"I also know the way of this town. However, the children said thank you."

Without being intimidated by Dominic's sharp gaze, Gilba answers.

"Thanks to Mr. Reurus's donation, we were able to buy clothes for our children. With three gold coins, I can feed you enough for a while. At the very least, I would like to express my gratitude."

I wonder if the word is true. It is probably true what the children of the church said. Gilba seemed proud of the children's behavior, and the smile was warm.

"If that's the case... let's make it impossible"

"Reurus....."

Dominic calls out worried. As for Reurus, I was happy and grateful for that concern, but I can't help but hear that children are the ones who have given me vegetables.

Not face-to-face, but the church had nearly ten children. As far as I can tell from the voice I've heard, they're all children under the age of ten.

Those children made their own vegetables. The distress of the church life can be approximated from Esther and Zilba's narratives. The vegetables that Zilba brought were originally made for them.

Reurus donated three pieces of gold, so he no longer needs the vegetables he made - I won't say no. It would be better to have as much food as possible for a growing child. Especially if you are in distress.

But if you were given vegetables in the form of gratitude, you can't refuse them as a revus.

So hurry up.

Huh?

Pick up the basket and remove vegetables that resemble peppers. And with Gilba floating with a question mark elsewhere, Reurus bit a vegetable resembling peppers.

"Yeah, yeah... bitter... but delicious"

Tighten it tightly and taste vegetables similar to peppers. Though it was bitter, it was also delicious, and the realuse was finished in an instant.

"Thank you, it was delicious. I did receive the thank you... please tell me that."

Ask Dominic to cook the rest. When Reurus returns an empty basket with such thoughts in mind, Gilba receives the basket in a state of insanity.

"Fu... hahahaha!

It was a Zilba that had solidified for a few seconds, but I thought it had burst out unexpectedly and laughed. But as soon as I could pull in the laughter, I had a different kind of soft smile.

"No, excuse me. Now, if you'll excuse me, Mr. Reurus has a different colour than this town."

Originally I grew up as a serf in a village called Shenna. It's been a little over a month since I came to this town, and it's probably not the same colour. "

Rather than being heretical, it seems to be a pure compliment, and Zilba's words are not offensive. So Reurus also laughed and replied, and Zilba lowered her head with her right hand on her chest.

"I can't believe you're making that kind of donation in such a situation... I appreciate the confidence of Gilba Reurus... no, thank you for your thoughtfulness."

Reurus does not believe in spiritualism. That's why Gilba changed her language. He also tells Dominic that Reurus donated not from spiritualism, but from pure generosity.

"Oni-san told me, but I want to thank you for healing my injury. I got some delicious vegetables like this, and I'll live forever."

"Really... I'd like to thank you personally as well as the children."

"Ah, then two... no, can I ask you about three?

If Jilba wants to borrow it, I'll settle it right here. Reurus, who thought so from Zilba's tone, immediately suggested so.
