A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 57: The "Contract" Part 2

"... the Spirit of Lightning."

Reurus opened his eyes unexpectedly to Eliza's words.

I've only heard of "Sole” calling on spirits once. However, I don't think Eliza can handle a technology that can't even be used for "strengthening" - "chanting."

Reurus only saw the chant once when he fought Kimira. I just saw Sharon, who is good at ice magic, use it.

"Chanting" - This is the technique used by magicians to “bottom-up” the power of magic. It is a technique that increases the power of magic by exposing the gap between uttering words and draining a lot of magic.

"Chant" is rarely used because the gap is too large. Even if the opponent can't use "Enhancement", the clearance becomes so easy to get in the way of "Chanting". Therefore, it is a technique that will not be used unless the extra conditions are satisfied.

If you can fight while casting, the problem will improve, but if you can practice melee fights and casting simultaneously, you can defeat the opponent without casting.

"Chant" has an avant-garde that prevents enemies from attacking and cannot be used unless you are prepared to fall for magic consumption. At least Reurus thinks so.

However, there is a “premise” in the first place to use "chanting".

(... maybe Bluff?

"Chant" is only meant to increase the power of magic. Even though you can't use magic, even if you do "chant", it won't work.

In that case, Isn't Eliza drawing the enemy's attention in "Chanting"? If the realus slashes into the gap, it seems like it can be surprised.

"The thunder that rushes into the world of lightning and thunder. A thunder that breaks the flames, crushes the ice, and penetrates the wind."

Either because the Gregorians took a quiet stance, or because Reurus was there. Eliza repeated her words without turning her attention to her surroundings.

I felt that there was some law in "chanting", similar to that used by Sharon.

If there is a big difference, Sharon does the Ice Magic "chant" and Eliza does the Lightning Magic "chant".

Are each words defined, or are they simply imitating the power of Eliza's grandmother - the "chant" that Eliza's grandmother would have done?

(Eliza, Grandma and I were talking about my power....)

Was it still a sign of slashing by looking at the gap with a bluff? Though it was a Reurus that looked subtly at the surroundings, the priest's man looked at Eliza with interest but did not lose consciousness from the Reurus.

"The Spirit of Lightning..."

In the meantime, Eliza spinned words similar to Sharon's.

The dramatic increase in magic caused by inhaling Reurus' blood was also shown, and the Reurus felt like the magic was swirling around Eliza.

"Begging in the name and soul of the bloodsucking species Eliza-Valjebe."

But Eliza's "chant" is different from Sharon's.

With the words "continued", Eliza turned her eyes to Reurus and laughed with a big sweat on her forehead.

"Take my magic and stay here...!?

When it hits, it sounds like electricity can play. Eliza leaked a distressing voice, shaking her body small.

"Nh, uhh... thunder clouds that cover the world, thunder falling on so many people, the blood of my grandmother that flows through me - respond to my magic and wishes"

It was only for a moment that she shook her body, and Eliza kept on singing. The sound of lightning popping along with the words gets stronger - at the same time, the smell of meat burning through your nose.

"Nh! Eliza!

It was too late for Reurus to notice. Eliza wraps lightning around her body, and at the same time, she scorches herself with the lightning she creates.

Even though the first "chant" belonged to my grandmother, if my grandmother could use lightning magic, it wouldn't be strange if Eliza had the same qualities. However, the fact that it cannot be used at the moment is unsettling.

Therefore, Eliza forced herself to use lightning magic with enormous magic and "chanting." It must be the recoil that burns your body. A thunderstorm uncontrollable with immature Eliza is stripping her teeth.

If you were a normal person, you would be electrocuted by that recoil and fainted by the burn. But Eliza is not an ordinary person. It is a bloodsucking species that Gregorians consider “monsters.”

Burning skin begins to heal rapidly, as does Reurus, who signed the "contract". Regrettably exerts the self-healing power of the bloodsucking species and repairs the wounds sustained.

"Gu... uu..."

Still, the scratches grow from one to the next. Eliza heals and heals more burns from lightning strikes. Sometimes my skin bounces and blood erupts, but it evaporates instantly whether the power of lightning is high or not.

"Stupid!

Reus, who saw Eliza, ran away with a curse. It wasn't a bluff or anything, but there's no way I'd feel like watching it like this.

Destroy all enemies before Eliza reaches her limit and finishes Chanting. I knew there was only so much I could do.

"Whoa! I wonder if you'll come here without getting lost. I can't just leave my" chanting "allies behind... so it won't work, so why don't you come closer?"

The man of the priest answers Reus, who approaches with a breath and waves a great sword, half impressed. Nevertheless, the slash launched by Reurus was well held, and there was no trace of alarm.

As the man says, Eliza with the lightning is not easily approachable. Even if I threw the dagger, the lightning strikes that were indiscriminately fired around me prevented me from moving, and even when I approached, I could see that I was electrocuted and could not move.

"Die, please. Then all you have to do is scold that stupid girl and end this fight."

"Do you think I'll forgive that?

"Neither forgive nor forgive - die."

The Reus jumped sideways as if he was slashed by a man with a sense of killing. Then he waves his sword straight to the side and cuts down the Gregorian who was in the shadow of the tree, exploring the surrounding signs.

The priest's man cannot be defeated immediately. If so, you should defeat an easy target. The man in charge of the Gregorians here is the priest, and Eliza will not be harmed if he intends to observe Eliza's movements.

While still careful not to attack Eliza, Reurus waves his sword to take down the nearby Gregorians one by one.

"Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa

Then the man of the priest moved. He grabbed the dagger in his right hand and quickly filled the distance with a rearview.

Rather than thinking for his men, Reurus wants to reduce the number of Gregorians, eliminating the need for Eliza to push herself and preventing her from interrupting "chanting."

"Would you excuse me, Mr. Reurus? You're kind, aren't you? Then I want you to turn your kindness towards me."

"I don't even know his name. I don't have any mercy on him. Sleep and tell him... Ah, good. You don't have to tell me to die."

A large sword that can be cut from the bottom diagonally to scratch your neck without even listening to any more bullshit. The man leans his neck and avoids slashing, laughing and distancing himself.

"Name... name. This is rude. I was going to kill him first, and I didn't think we'd have a long relationship...."

Controlled by a slight change in posture and gaze, the man drew in a smile and named himself.

"Villa, a Gregorian priest. Now, I wonder if you're being nice to me?

"Oh, well, I'll carve that name into the tombstone."

"Hih, I don't need such kindness!

With a sharp stepping in, the man - Villa - slashes a knife of a weight that doesn't seem to be a dagger.

Reurus took it straight with the blade of the great sword, and now the front kick came flying without saying thank you. As a result, the rear runs backwards without defying the kicking momentum while catching the rear with the jumped right knee.

"Hmm... what a pity. I hope you can reach the bishop rather than the priest."

"Do you believe in a religion that suddenly stabs people in the stomach and kills all those little kid families?

"It's a sacrifice that needs to be made... but I'm not asking for understanding."

It was a voice that had a serious sound, unlike the slender tone. Reurus is bewildered by the atmosphere of the villa - nothing like that is dusty, and he waves down his sword with the intention of beating it in half from his head.

"Whoops! I don't know why I bought it... I'm sorry!

A villa that dares to step forward with a swinging dagger and dodges with a single sheet of paper, then targets Reurus' neck with a dagger as a counterattack. Reus aggressively releases his left hand from the handle of the Great Sword, and strikes the dagger that came to cut his neck with his nails to distract him.

After all, the dagger the villa waves is a business. A fairly sturdy nail was cut like paper, and blood erupted from the nail of the left-hand side of Reurus in exchange for a slice of slashing.

"Huh!?

Anyway, I grabbed the left hand that bled out and knocked it into the villa's right cheek. I was wondering if I could smash my eyes with blood, but it would be difficult to get blood in the narrowed villa's eyes.

Therefore, it was a revulsion that tried to inflict a little more pain than blindfolding and knocked into the fist.

"Nuuu... no, it's really good. It's been a long time since I've been hit in the face."

Alert the pursuit, the villa immediately retreats and takes a distance. Reurus also decided that even if he waved the great sword with his right hand, he couldn't get rid of it, and he didn't chase it deep.

(My left hand feels sick...)

The back of the left hand was cut deep enough to see the bones, but the wound quickly closed. Pain, heat, and even a ticklish sensation led the wound from the edge, and in about ten seconds it was completely closed.

It is difficult to be honest and delighted that you don't need healing magic to help you.

So long as it took time for the wounds to heal naturally, they did so at a rate that common sense would not have imagined. Maybe you don't have to worry about magic in a world where it exists, but Reus thought it would definitely be bad for you.

However, the wound, which would normally take several months to fully heal, healed immediately. You won't be so helpful in battle.

If this is the case, it may not be possible to attack with preparedness. I thought it was a match, but only my wounds were healed and only my enemies were dying. Of course, there is no guarantee that this healing ability will work until fatal wounds occur.

"Wow... no matter how much 'contract' I have with the bloodsucking species, I'm surprised it goes so well. Do you have your own" protection "or something? Hihi, if that's the case, I'm convinced Rachel didn't poison you."

In response to the laughing villa, Reurus distorted his expression in a mood. That's not because I admitted Villa's words. Because I forgave the “buy time”.

"The Spirit of Lightning..."

Under the moon echoes Eliza's "chanting" voice, which exerts its power as a bloodsucking species. As the magic grew, so did the amount of burns and blood, but Eliza managed her lightning magic without falling.

The villa is staring at Eliza with anticipation. Reurus didn't know what was going to make him do it, but he whispered to the villa, who seemed to be concentrating on Eliza and couldn't see the gap.

(In the end, you've become a feather to rely on Eliza's power.....)

I wanted to play sooner, but I was about to finish Chanting. Reurus exhales a deep sigh with his big sword in his heart.

(I'll definitely scold Eliza later....)

Now that this has happened, all you have to do is trust Eliza.

"Come on - show me your power, monster!

Responding to Villa's screams, Eliza turned her eyes as she bled from her body. The reddish eyes were sparkling bright and red light was shining.

And Eliza's "Chant" is complete.

"--wear my enemy!” Lightning strike!

The moment I heard the "chant", Reus was moving unconsciously.

The lightning strikes around Eliza responded to the "chant", which was much weaker than the magic Eliza cast.

Either because Eliza is too immature, or because she exercised lightning magic that cannot be used “by nature". The lightning spell released from the magic that would beat Sharon's full strength is too small against its magic amount.

It would be less than half as powerful as Kimira. But Eliza's "chant" did it, and the thunderbolts that were supposed to have been randomly fired all around her killed only the Gregorians, avoiding the trees.

--Eliza's thunder never targeted Reurus.

As the Chant suggests, the lightning strike, which was only aimed at the enemy, also hit the villa where Reurus was confronted. Its power did not bring down the Villa, which had been 'fortified', but it was sufficient to stop it from moving with electric shocks.

"SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

This is an opportunity created by Eliza as she bleeds from her body with a magical "eruption.” Reurus stepped in with a roar and shook down the great sword.

"Chia-chi!?

Though the lightning struck, the villa reacted well. Avoid the slashing of Reurus at a rate that keeps the tongue slashing on-the-spot - a numb body does not follow its consciousness.

With a dull sound, the villa's right arm danced in the air.
