A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 101: The Exotic Traveler Part 2

The next morning I met Sin and Snow.

In Asahi's illuminated riverbanks, Reurus burned fish stuck in tree branches. I've never even seen a sea fish in this world, but I rarely see a river fish.

There is no river near the abandoned city of Laval, and even the nearest river needs to be walked for nearly an hour. Born and raised in the village of Shena, there were streams, but there were no fish the size of which could be eaten. In the first place, even if the fish were caught in the river, they would have been taken from the top of the village before the Reurus could eat them.

Crouch down next to a burning fire whilst squeaking and adjust the position to prevent the fish from burning. The seasoning was salt only, but the reuse was in a good mood just because you could eat river fish that you couldn't normally eat.

"Good morning. Mr. Reurus, you're early in the morning, aren't you? You're not sleeping, are you?

"Good morning, Snow. I can't sleep in camp... I want Eliza and Sarah to sleep, and I won't have to sleep for a few days. It doesn't have to be a bandit. That's why it happened."

As Reurus bakes the fish, the snow that was camping a little farther away approaches.

If it was true, I would alternate with Eliza and Sarah, but Sin and Snow stayed up all night because of them.

As far as I can tell, I didn't think I was a bad guy, but I just met him and I can't trust him. I couldn't discard the possibility that Reurus and the others were alarmed by the appearance of harmlessness.

It was a real-time alert, but Sin and Snow also hid their luggage because they didn't know the identity of the real-time alerts.

I talked to Reurus and took some personality before carrying a large backpack. It seems to be packed with camping tools, but some of them attract the attention of Reurus.

“It” looks familiar from the Reurus, a tool for camping. The shape of a square hammer is commonly used during camping.

--If not mistakenly, Sin and Snow used a tent to reveal the night.

(It's a tent... that? What's the name of the tent? No, no, it's a tent, yeah)

A foldable tent - that should be it, Reurus thinks.

(There was a tent in this world... but it's a simple structure, isn't it strange? But....)

Reurus narrows his eyes to say he saw something nostalgic. However, I have never seen it around me, and it is not strange if it exists about a tent. All you have to do is make a skeleton and stretch the cloth to make a tent.

But it is. I've been worried about Reurus, but Snow's outfit is really strange. It was a white sweater, a skirt, and spats and leather shoes.

(If you think so, it looks like a Japanese... No, it's not a person because it's turned into a "change". But I still don't have clothes....)

As she watches the snow dress while baking the fish, the snow strangely tilts her neck.

"What's funny? I've been checking to make sure you get some sleep...."

"No, it was a costume I didn't see. It seems to be of good quality, and it's cute and looks good on you."

"Thank you! There are a lot of these clothes in my country.

Snow smiled happily as she looked at the observation and praised it. When you look at black hair and its costume, the memory of the previous life is strangely stimulated as a revulsion.

Thin and Snow look Japanese, but the world is wide. It wouldn't be strange to have a black-haired race.

(In the first place, there are no Japanese people who suddenly ask for help from the first person they meet.)

Last night, Reurus asked Singh to make arrangements, but he refused.

Even if they say they want to fight, Reurus has no advantage. Singh said he wanted to see the skill of the swordsmen of the continent of Cardiva, but Reurus was not going to be a swordsman, even if he was an adventurer.

As a realuse, I am a little interested in working with Singh, but there is also the question of whether realuses can be "matched”.

Speaking of Reurus, we will kill each other, not each other. Whether the monster is the opponent or the human is the opponent, I have never fought with words such as matches and matches.

The only exception is about Vannille, but Vannille was a bit of a pain in the ass. If you succeed, it's hard to say that the battle is a match around the area where the magic of Reurus evaporates.

It was a Reurus who was having a hard time thinking, but he turned his attention to Snow as if it was better than what he had always wondered.

"Ah... by the way, Snow. Are you... d... d..."

- Do you know a country called Japan?

It was a Reurus who asked, but it's not a word. I tried to use the word "Japan", but for some reason I couldn't pronounce it.

D?

"D... Newphone..."

"Nyu, Newphone? What? Is that... a local greeting?

Snow blinks like confused, but the degree of confusion is deeper with Reurus.

(What is that? What is this...)

So, I think Reurus.

--Have you ever spoken "Japanese" since you were reborn?

As long as it comes to mind, there is no problem, but if you try to make a noise, you don't make a sound like you're "caught” by something.

"... good mornings, houer you?

I will try to speak English properly this time, but I was able to say it quickly. Compared to Japanese, Comona seems to be close to English, so the mouth moves smoothly.

"Gu, gu?

(... if good mornings don't work, you're not Japanese, you're not even earthly.)

The Reurus picks up the pebble with a little bit of cute, mouthwatering snow. Then I carved "Japan" into a palm-sized stone nearby and showed it to Snow.

……

Tilt your neck to the left and right and say, "What is this?" But I was just looking at the snow. Snow's attitude had no acting colour, and Reurus shook his head and threw a stone at the river.

If you can't read the word "Japan" in the appearance of Snow, you're definitely not Japanese. I don't think I'm from a country that uses Chinese characters.

Maybe you can talk to your ex-country in a different world - Reurus laughs a little lonely.

"No, just a little question cleared up... don't worry about it."

The stone engraved "Japan" sank in the river with a sound called "Pochan".

"If we can't make a deal, at least let me see your weapon.

"... that's fine."

As soon as I finished eating breakfast, Singh said with a serious look. Reus raised his big sword and showed it to him because he refused to make a deal.

"Wow, that's a big swing... one-blade at this size? As far as the length of the pattern is concerned, it looks like a sword with both hands... no? Is this... the" magic letter "of" Enhancement "?

"It's a substitute in time.” If I shake it with all my strength, it may break, so I'm getting reinforced by "strengthening". "

"Substitutes? Shake it as hard as you can and it breaks?

Sin looked at Reurus's great sword from tip to toe, but his eyes sparkled as if he was curious about Reurus' story.

"Does Mr. Singh know how to use weapons?

"Certain weapons, to a certain extent."

"Hmm... this might be your lucky day, so wait a minute."

Reus opens the backpack and removes the fragments of Dominic's Great Sword from his leather bag. Sin said no, then peeked into the leather bag and raised his eyebrows to the grand.

"This is... how did this happen?

"This is what happened when I fought the Fire Dragon one-on-one."

"... I don't know why that happened, but one-on-one with the Fire Dragon? I'm glad you're okay...."

From the tone of Reurus, did you feel like you were joking? Thin looks like she's in trouble. Even with Reurus, I could understand the confusion because I don't know why it happened.

"I was fine for a while, but when I was slashing the flame magic..."

"I wonder if I could use 'Nullify'... then I'd understand how to fight the Fire Dragon..."

"No, I beat it to the ground."

Thin's eyes narrow as if they had been discovered by an unknown creature.

"I'm kidding... I don't think so"

"I'm not kidding... but I'm on a journey looking for a dwarf to make a sword for you. No, I'd rather have a client."

You can also enjoy the handmade hot spring baths that you came to this place for. Now that breakfast has been served, it will be time to leave.

There were unexpected “visitors” named Singh and Snow, but I think I learned one thing: just stepping into the woods and encountering strong people who don't even know who they are.

"Dwarf...."

"Wow, if you have any information, please let me know. From here to the west... no, northwest? I heard you saw a dwarf around here."

Ask without any particular expectations. Even the spirituals who lived in Tillier didn't know. I don't think Singh knows that he came from another continent.

"I know a dwarf, but I've only been here recently. It doesn't meet my expectations....."

"Really... do you know the dwarf?

"Oh, I was a blacksmith in the kingdom where I was. A good blacksmith. I don't make a lot of magic tools like these, but I made a good weapon."

Apparently Singh has a Dwarf acquaintance. If that's all there is to it, Reurus will be in the forefront.

"So, how far can Sin's country go from here?

I've heard it's a different continent, but it could be surprisingly close. If they come back within two months, they'll be more certain than looking for dwarves who don't know where they are.

You can make a good sword and have Jilba carve the "magic letter".

"On foot and by boat... three months on a one-way trip?

…………

I couldn't think of anything. Rather, I would like to ask why it took so long to get here.

"... dwarf?

That's how Reus and Singh spoke, and Snow, who was talking to Eliza, called out.

"Mr. Singh, is that possible... there was a mountain where you could see the light from the sky?

"... from the sky?

What do you mean, Reurus looks at Singh? Then Sin answered with his face.

"Snow is good at wind magic... he flew high to check his current position."

"Heh... incredible wind magic. Can you do that?"

Elizabeth, Sarah, and Sharon are the classic magic users around Reurus. All three of them can't use wind magic, so I've never seen Reurus before.

"Snow, do you know where it is?

"Um... because the sun is over there... um, between the north and west?

It seems to fit in the direction. However, even if the lights were visible, it was possible that they were camping just like the Reurus.

(Still a step forward… why don't we go to Accra as planned and go around the surrounding mountains from there?)

At least it seems certain that there was a “thing” that used the lights. I was quite vigilant immediately after the encounter, but Sin and Snow, who did not feel hostile or killing, began to relax, as did Reurus.

Is that why you should say that?

"I was in trouble with almost no information... thank you. If there's anything I can do, I'll thank you."

That's it, Reurus understands his failure. Because I saw Sin's mouth slowly hanging.

"Reurus, my lord...."

"You're a tough guy, but I thought that might be why you failed!

Eliza and Sarah, who were breaking down their handmade barrels and putting out the fire to prepare for their departure, came in.

Reurus sighs deeply and turns his eyes to Singh. Singh was gripping the stick with a smile.

What Singh wants is obvious. Next to such a thin, Snow sighed.

"... you said it yourself once. Want to do it?"

"Let's do it."

For the first time in this world, a non-murderous relationship began with a single misstatement.
