A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 233: Cleanup Part 2

Gilba and Louis' gaze crossed.

I don't blame Zilba for his gaze, I guess he just wants to check the facts. Having captured Gilba's gaze, Louis smiles in trouble.

"The first thing I thought strange was that my father invited the Gregorians into the territory."

What came up was words unrelated to Zilba's inquiry. Zilba's eyebrows glittered in response, but Lewis continued his conversation.

"My family seems to be proud, but my father is by no means a mundane person. From my son's point of view... as the custodian of the border between the two countries... I think there is no shortage."

That said, Lewis lowered his hips to the chair beside him. It's going to be a long story.

"When the Valley mines in my territory collapsed one after the other, I was investigating them with a lot of people other than border guards. We need to find out as soon as possible whether it happened naturally as a result of mining development or whether there are other causes."

Lewis gazes at Zilba and encourages her to sit down, but Zilba just listens and doesn't seem to move.

"As a result, we found that the collapse of the Valley mine did not occur spontaneously, but was caused by something else. Probably caused by a big monster. I thought I'd mobilize the Knights of Diego to sort things out... but my father was wrong."

That's why they brought in Kanna and Laurent. Reurus, who was listening to Zilba in silence, nodded in his heart.

"Do you know how you felt when you were introduced to the bishops and priests of Gregory, who were told that you had brought a handicraft?

"Shouldn't you have killed him on the spot?

"Hahaha... Jilba is a good joker."

Louis responded with a pulled laugh to Zilba, who leaned his neck with his face. But as soon as I regained my attention, I started rubbing my eyebrows tired.

"Of course I disagreed... but my father didn't listen. Perhaps the bishop Rebecca was turning his hand."

"Well then, Louis was looking around with Collard and the others....."

Until then, Reurus asked. Then Louis nodded small.

"I was going to defeat the original monster before the Gregorians. I just don't have enough combat power. Ask Lord Collard for help and secure the soldiers in the name of a tour of the territory....."

Remembering the struggles of the day, Lewis thinned his eyes to look far away.

"I didn't need the help of the Gregorians to defeat the original monster... so I decided to go after my father. Well, after all, apart from the monsters I took from Mr. Reurus, it seems that“ somebody else ”later defeated" Castle Collapse "and left...."

"Hee... I've heard that before, but speaking of 'castle collapse', it's an advanced monster. There was such a strange guy who left him alone while defeating such a monster."

"Absolutely... then the collapse of the Valley Mine stopped, and I can say the problem was solved, except my father invited the Gregorians in."

Now Lewis and Lewis' gaze crossed, but Lewis never pursued the empty Lewis.

"Speaking of which, oddly enough, there were rumors in Accra that the cause of the disturbances was dwarfs. From the way the rumors spread, the Gregorians must have been involved... but I don't know what it was."

"It would be no use trying to understand what those heathens think."

Gilba answered Lewis's words. It was a voice that made me feel cold, but Louis kept laughing bitterly.

"Now that I've fought that 'doll', I agree with that opinion..." I'll go back, but I was able to avoid the Gregorians taking down the main culprit. But this time, rumors began to spread that the Vicomte de Velg had helped the Gregorians. "

"Rumor...?"

"It's not a rumor, it's a fact, it's not a rumor, it's not a thing to say in front of Lord Zilba or Lord Esther, but it started to rebel against the Spirits in the Territory. The bishop and the priest were expelled immediately."

When Louis talked that far, Esther, who had slapped Gilba so hard earlier, also had a serious look on her face.

"From there, as I told you before about Reurus, I also conveyed to the King's Landing the help of the Gregorians and the lack of governance. Given the distance from King's Landing and the accuracy of the information, it seems that there are Gregorians involved....."

"There's no evidence."

Lewis nods with a serious look when Lewis hits his gavel.

"That's right. I thought the Gregorians spread the rumor, but now that I know the power of the" doll, "it's useless to predict what kind of method they took. Too many hands to hit."

I have no choice but to agree with Reurus. I knew Rebecca's troubles with my own hands. And at the same time, I doubt it by slightly distracting myself from thinking.

(When I first met Mr. Lewis, Mr. Collard told me to leave without stopping by... there was a danger that spiritual guests might encounter Gregos, but if I found out that the Viscount of Velg had helped the Gregos...?

If so, Collard would have advised me in good faith. Remembering Collard's face distorted by stomach pain, Reurus thought about putting in some stomach medicine next time.

"Let's get back to the story... about my father, but there are other anomalies. That's Ruvillia and Carlo."

"I've been asked to treat Ruvillia... is that what this is about?

When Esther asked, Louis nodded back.

"That's right. Just before I took my place, my father had a good healing magician... and I fainted when I heard that Carlo had been very disrespectful."

That said, Louis shook his head, but I can't say anything about the situation as a Reus that Esther told me about.

"But I really thought it was“ strange. ”Indeed, Carlo has a long history of temperament, but is officially educated as a knight. That change... no, the transformation was clearly unusual."

(Ah... isn't that what it looks like? If you think so, Rebecca's "protection" won't really be stylish....)

Reurus, who was listening to Lewis, remembered Rebecca's face, which had been attacked with joy, and frowned greatly.

(Hmm? Then you sold a fight to Esther and Gilba using Carlo to make it difficult to arbitrate between Spiritualism and the Viscount of Velg...? No, there are so many other ways to do that....)

Rebecca - what was Gregorianism thinking and doing?

It was a realuse that had made people think from the information so far, but I couldn't figure it out.

(Gilba met with Carlo and Ruvillia, heard that the Spirits were rebelling in the territory of the Viscount Vergu, and moved quickly... and then Ruvillia's carriage was attacked by Kimira... so Carlo wasn't there before...)

There's something unnatural about Kimira, and I think Rebecca probably was controlling it. If Reurus and the others hadn't rushed, Ruvillia and the others would have been in even greater danger.

"... I was wondering who would be responsible if a monster or bandit attacked me on the street and I got injured and died?

Reurus asks knowing that he will break the back of the story. Then, for some reason, Lewis narrowed his eyes and looked at Reurus.

"Self-responsibility, but the street administrator... I mean, the owner of the land is not responsible. The negative effects of dangerous monsters and bandits on the streets are immeasurable. It is the duty of the lord to remove it."

"... what if something happened to Ruvillia when Kimira attacked her?

Reurus repeatedly asks questions with a bad feeling. Louis responded with an emotionally invisible voice to such a revulsion.

"If we can't defeat monsters and bandits, our guards may be in trouble, but I won't let you say" responsibility ”is zero."

In response, Reurus felt his cheeks pulling. At the same time, an unpleasant sweat rises on your back.

(I mean, what... if we hadn't been “coincidental”, could the Viscount Velg have come up with a lot of ideas about the surroundings of Laval?

Louis turned his expression back into a soft one, wondering what he thought of the lost word Reurus.

"Well, as a result of gathering all this information, I realized that the Gregorians who thought they were kicking us out are constantly making a little noise."

It's Louis who talks back with his expression, but he sweats cold when it's a very dangerous place for a revulsion. And at the same time recognizing the troubles of Gregorianism, I thought that Louis and his nobles would fight over what they were thinking and how far they were going.

"If there was a miscalculation, the enemy was more troublesome than I expected... I thought we could handle it with one bishop and one priest, but“ this ”was too unexpected."

Whether Lewis is unaware of Reurus' mood or is aware and ignoring it, Lewis waves his neck with a bitter smile.

"And it was you, Reurus... who saved us from the unexpected. As for Jilba....."

Then Louis cut his words and scratched his cheeks in trouble.

"If the 'Punishment' Master is moving, I've determined that there are Gregorians, but this is unexpected, or I think I drilled a hole in the wall of prediction and slipped through..."

"I just“ spontaneously ”stopped someone trying to impersonate me at the knees of the Viscount Velg. Never mind."

Apparently, Louis tried to use it after understanding Zilba's movements, but the out-of-standard nature of Zilba and Rebecca frustrated the prospect.

Lewis tried to take down the Gregorians on his own initiative.

Those Lewis and the Reurus who followed the situation.

Zilba sensed the movement with her own sense of smell and tried to take Rebecca down.

It seems that the three of them are intertwined and have reached the end of this time. It was a Reurus that concluded so, but I twisted my neck wondering why Lewis revealed it. Then Lewis stood up from his chair.

"Now that this is happening, it's all about talking, right? Apologies for the inconvenience, rewards for cooperation... I'd like to talk about that, but first I want you to heal yourself."

That's how Louis lowers his head small toward Reurus. And I left because there was still something to deal with.

…………

Louis' back was staring at Esther with a disgruntled face.
