A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 235: Cleanup Part 4

Three days have passed since we fought Rebecca.

The treatment of Esther and Eliza's "contract" have almost completely healed the injuries caused by Reurus. I haven't recovered from the magic I consumed, but I couldn't reach around Accra and hunt monsters to recover my magic.

We are also in the process of restoring the gardens of the Vicomte de Velg, which became a battleground, but this will still take some time. Many of the plants and flowers grown in the garden have burned out, the ground has been decimated, and many parts of the cobblestone leading to the mansion have been crushed.

Soldiers were filling holes in the ground and poking the ground as a step before laying cobbles, but it would take a long month for the garden to regain its original beauty.

Within the walls of Accra, Louis immediately turned around to declare the end of the situation, although the public voiced anxiety about the disturbance. He also publicized the fact that the source of the disturbance was a Gregorian, and that he worked with spirituals to defeat it.

The Gregorians are extremely dangerous and have announced that they were attacking not only the residence of the Viscount Velg, but also the soldiers' lockups, and that Zilba, famous for his spirituality, cooperated with them.

It is impossible to conceal the information, because the Winged Dragon attacked from above and shot at the flame magic. That's why Louis disclosed information about the incident and prioritized removing the anxiety of Accra's residents.

For the record, when Gilba fought, stories were spread that the city's stone walls had been destroyed because of the Gregorians, but Reus, who heard the story, had a stunned feeling like, "I don't know, I'm not lying."

It was Zilba who destroyed the stone wall, but without the Gregorians, Zilba would never have done so. The story spread to the inhabitants also spreads in the direction of the Gregorians destroying the stone walls, not Zilba.

Lewis, driven by the calming of the situation, is releasing information and starting an investigation into the presence of "disappeared residents” from the city of Accra.

Gilba took down the Gregorians, dressed no different than Accra's residents, and it is likely that several Gregorians were hiding in the city.

Since when have you been in town, in what position, and what impact have you had on your surroundings?

Maybe there are other Gregorians lurking.

I wonder if there were allies, not even Gregorians.

As the custodian of the territory, Louis ordered the soldiers to investigate those dangerous elements. The town residents were warned not to approach anyone suspicious and immediately informed the patrolling soldiers.

Reurus was impressed to learn of the move of the Viscount Verg.

I can't say I'm happy because I defeated a bad enemy. Care had to be taken to ensure that the same did not happen, and for the time being more soldiers on patrol were needed to reassure the inhabitants.

--If there is a problem, how does Reurus know those stories?

It was Reurus who was being treated at the Värg family, but every time Lewis visits him, he talks like a public servant.

Though he tried to keep his ears shut about whether it might be related to the secrecy of the Värg family or whether it might be an operational impediment, Louis talks about it as part of an apology for getting involved in this disturbance.

After the disturbance, when I saw Louis coming to talk with a sly face before, I thought that if I had time to do such a thing, I should sleep at all.

It also needs to calm down the spirituals living in Accra, so Louis only comes when Esther and Gilba are out.

That alone would warrant vigilance. The smell was so stinky that the revus recovered to a state where it was not moving and was ready for immediate leisure.

"My injuries have healed and I think it's time to go back to the abandoned city of Laval."

As Gilba and Esther came to see him, Reurus revealed the situation and immediately “left.” I asked Eliza and the others to pack their bags, get ready to travel now, and then I asked them to see Louis, and when they came to the office, they said so first.

Louis must have been working on the paperwork. In the abandoned city of Laval, precious paper sandwiches a mountain of desks, with a fatigued smile on his tired face.

"If the injury is healed, it's better. As a family, I don't mind if my benefactor stays here forever."

Louis' tone is terribly soft as to whether there is any temptation. Or maybe that's what I'm saying from the bottom of my heart, but I couldn't nod as a realuse.

"Thank you, but I'm worried about leaving the abandoned city of Laval for a long time... and I'm hiring Esther's escort."

We won't need Esther's escort after Gilba joins us, but Reurus speaks like that in front of us. To be honest, there is no reason to stay in the house of the Viscount of Werg until his injuries are healed.

"Really... no, I'm sorry. I couldn't even hear your adventure. [M] My sister would be sorry."

Louis looked at Reurus' face for a few seconds, but shook his head with a sad expression, as he said. It was a trick and expression that made me think that I really think so, but I don't know how much it's true.

Lewis leans aside the wingpen he had in his right hand and stands up from his chair and walks towards the Reurus.

"I want to fully reward Esther, Gilba, and Reurus for this incident. I don't know what would have happened without you...."

Louis, who had walked near the Reurus and the others, slightly lowered his eyes.

Looking at the results alone, there are no deaths in the House of Värg, and very few can be called seriously wounded. It has also been completely cured by the use of healing magic by Esther and the Viscount of Velg. Reurus, whose ribs were shattered and stabbed in his internal organs, was the most serious injury.

I can't say all hail because there are no dead, but what would have happened without the Reurus? Given Rebecca's presence, there is a high risk of a very troubling situation.

"I just want to say that I can get as much reward as I want... but my discretion is limited on my behalf. Besides, I'm going to trouble you one more time....."

That's how Louis looked at the office door. Then a knock sounds and Diego enters. I didn't have a spear because it was indoors, but I wore armor and put a sword around my waist.

And for some reason, he's holding the rope in his hand.

"Excuse me. I brought Lord Carlo with me."

The tip of the rope that Diego grabbed - there was a carlo tied to his upper body with a rope.

Were all the weapons and armor taken away, or there was no iron attached. In addition, they are wearing simple linen clothes that may also be available in the Laval Waste City.

"... Lord Lewis?

The ester makes me feel stiff. Eliza and Meer looked surprised at the tone of voice, but something more worried about Reurus.

…………

Carlo, who was brought in by Diego, looked silently at Reurus. Besides, he looks like he's fallen into possession.

Whether it should be described as transparent, or even with an old man who realized the time of death, Carlo's expression is too calm and confusing as a revus.

(Well, in a sense, the possession fell...)

The magic I felt before disappeared from Carlo. Perhaps Rebecca's "charm" was solved, but even considering that, Carlo's expression was clear.

"It's been a long time, Reverend Reurus... No, it's nice to meet you."

(Sir!?

Reurus shouted in dismay at the unexpected title from Carlo. Until then, Eliza and Meer stared at Carlo in surprise.

Unfamiliar with the situation, Zilba watches the situation in silence, and Sarah looks at Carlo with a disgusting face. Only Neddy looked at Carlo as if he was normal.

"What the hell..."

When it comes to Carlo being tied up with a rope, there's only one thing I've ever done. But Reurus wondered what he wanted to do with Carlo.

"Reurus, you may think so... but Carlo is a knight of our house and a bloodline. I understand your anger, but I can't let you judge me."

It was Louis who looked so harsh, but he had to tilt his neck as a revulsion.

(... even if I told you... this man's attitude was so stunned before he got angry that Rebecca manipulated him in the first place.)

The Rebecca manipulated Reurus without the earliest anger against Carlo.

If you are attracted to “that”, it will be impossible to disobey. It was strange that he was able to resist even as a Reurus.

But Louis continued to say what he thought of Reurus, who was silent from confusion.

"Whatever the circumstances, the fact that Carlo invited the Gregorians remains unchanged. You understand that, right? I can't just ignore it...."

It was a voice tone that made me feel cold, but it also contained confusion. When Reurus noticed it, he raised his eyebrows and suddenly Carlo shook his knees.

"Those who draw the blood of the glorious Vicomte Vergus are manipulated by their enemies, pointing their swords at the Lord, albeit in his stead... and rudeness toward the benefactors who saved my cousin Ruvillia..."

That's how Carlo lowers his head towards Lewis. It seemed cramped to lower her head because she was tied to her upper body, but her attitude was full of regret.

"Work worthy of death... I want you to take this responsibility and get your permission to judge me..."

Self-regulation - that is, the loss of one's life.

Hearing Carlo's words, Louis sighed and turned his gaze towards Reurus.

"I'm sorry about the sudden incident. Even though we have the power to decide on punishment, if we can't apologize to you Reurus for the inconvenience, we can't die... and I won't listen."

Carlo lowers his head deeper and deeper into Lewis's words.

As for Reurus, I don't particularly think about Carlo's decision to punish him or apologize. Eliza and the others will be the same.

If there is a problem, is it Esther or Zilba who has been rude to Carlo? Even from a public standpoint, Esther, the spiritual teacher, and Gilba, the famous spiritualist, are far higher than the adventurers Reurus.

Reurus turned to Esther and Gilba. And soon I regretted it.

"Does Reurus receive a formal apology and compensation from the Värg family on this matter? If so, I think it would be nice to get involved in“ your situation ”any more."

There was Esther, who spoke in a tone that suppressed her anger without expression, and Gilba, who smiled thinly.
