A Chronicle of Life in a Different World
Episode 245: Master Part 3
(Saada... I tried to stand by, but I don't know what to do...)
While holding a sword with a broken blade, Reurus murmured inside. Like when using Dragon Slash, he grabbed the handle with both hands and held it on his right shoulder, taking a forward leaning position and lowering his hips.
Collard, opposed to Reurus, opens his body halfway and stands in the middle with a sword held in one hand. I don't seem discouraged and don't move to wait for the Reurus to come out.
With such a collard in sight, I wonder what happened to Reurus.
This is only a training sword, and what we hold together is also a training sword. Of course, crushing the blade is a lump of metal, so if you hit it sharply, it won't be enough.
The situation is that they face each other from a distance of about two meters and hold each other's swords. That is too different from “normal”, and the feeling of revulsion complains of discomfort.
It's been more than a year since I became an adventurer, but I haven't had a chance to stand up and face myself straight. I wonder how many times that has happened, such as training and arming each other as it is now.
The confronting Collard stays still and looks at Reurus with a single shot.
"... aren't you coming?
"These opportunities are scarce... and I wonder how I attacked them."
Without using 'Caloric Release', Eliza and Sarah's magic didn't 'strengthen' her, and she didn't know how much she could move with her own physical abilities.
"Don't hesitate. This is just training, and the purpose is to see your movements. And...."
Reurus worried about how he attacked him, Collard laughed small and lifted the edge of his mouth.
"You can deal with an amateur sword that doesn't use 'Enhancement', even if you're still meditating? It's just a desperate thing to do. It won't hit me anyway. I'll stop, but I don't need you."
What was there was absolute confidence. Collard's expression and voice said he could deal with anything without hitting an amateur sword.
That doesn't mean Reurus sees it as provocation and reveals his anger.
(It's a waste of time even if it's worth it, and you're going to borrow your chest....)
She calmed down quietly and put her strength into the hands holding the sword while measuring the distance between herself.
Collard frowned slightly at the reaction of Reurus.
Here we go.
"Come on."
At the same time as a short exchange, Reurus kicks the ground. Running is slow, usually stepping in two steps at a distance that can be packed in one step.
"SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Sweet to Collard's words, cut into dust such as edging unconsciously. Step straight in from the front, regardless of the protruded sword tip, and if it's a real battle, even weave it in, and swing the sword down from the top with all your might.
"... hmm"
Collard's right hand moves slightly with a small murmur. The sound of metal rubbing against each other reaches Reurus' ears, and at the same time the slash flows to the right side of Collard.
"Hmm!?
--Slashed.
The next moment Reurus decided so, Collard's sword shook his neck. Realizing this, Reurus instantly knocks his torso to the right, avoiding slashing him in a single piece of paper.
"G... oooooooooooo!
Put your strength into your arms and jump up the sword you swing down. The target is Collard's right torso, but while Reurus avoids slashing, Collard jumps behind him without even touching the tip of his sword.
But with the distance, Reurus regains his posture. In the meantime, Collard remained still and stared at Reurus' behavior with his sword pointing out.
Reurus kicks the ground again and fills the gap with Collard. He swings his sword and slashes Collard's right arm from the top.
But that's pointless. I wonder if Collard's sword tip has moved again, and the sword swinging down is sideways.
And now the tip just flew in. Reurus's flanking eyes threw a poke with one hand.
"Nh! nnh!
It was a revulsion that twisted his body to dodge the poke, but Collard pulled the sword and released the poke again. Instead of the front, which is completely covered by armor, the blade tip is slipped to close the gap between the flanks.
Reurus desperately avoided the poke and used his sword to play the poke again. Looking at it, Collard began targeting the joints of the armor Reurus was wearing.
"... I see."
Collard's voice confirming something. There was no time for Reurus to pay attention to it, and Collard swore.
When Reurus waves his sword, he parries it and targets it with a blade he returns that is not covered in armor.
The movement is not flashy. It reliably slashes Reurus and strikes back with few moves.
"I don't know what I'm doing... but I don't know how to move my sword after it's been shaken."
In contrast to the desperately slashing Reurus, Collard tells the story in a way that keeps room.
"Besides, the sword swing is too big. I don't know what to do with that big sword, but I don't have to shake it any more than I need to."
Reus, who decided that he could not be caught by vertical slashing, held the sword sideways, but it did not hit either. Collard calculates the position where Reurus stepped in and the breadth of time he saw from the previous slash, avoiding the tip of the sword with minimal retraction.
Reurus slashes from one to the next, but it misses all of them.
"Okay? Whether the opponent is a monster or a human, just slightly slashing his neck is enough. Of course, we must not forget the existence of healing magic and magic medicine, but instead of choking your neck, your attack will crush your body... which is just too much."
Collard throws words while avoiding Reurus' slash. I don't think you're using "Enhancement" because Collard can't feel the magic, but the movement was agile against appearance.
"Besides, stepping in, holding the sword, and even killing are too“ honest ”... so it's like teaching me where to put it."
Swinging your sword a few times, dozens of times, does not blur Collard. Relax and parry the sword of Reurus, sometimes catching it and continuing to speak.
"Wouldn't the sword in the lower stage be swinging down from the upper stage? If you stand tall, the direction of slashing will be limited. As long as you don't have the skills to change the swordsmith, you need to reduce wasteful movements and reduce the amount of time they spend dealing with it."
While saying so, Collard changes his movements to practice his remarks.
From Reurus' point of view, the sword is held in a very small amount of time and a slash is made immediately. Prioritizes speed over the weight of a hit, but with moderate strength that is still serious and painful, he runs the sword from one to the next.
Its speed and accuracy are not found in Reurus. Reurus mobilizes his previous combat experience and sometimes relies on his guesswork to slash Collard.
Even with the hassle and speed, Collard occasionally weaves his fences together. The foot orientation, the subtle behavior of the hands and shoulders when stepping in, and at the end, the movement of the eyes try to distract the consciousness of the revus.
(Damn, the feints are depressing....)
The body is likely to move reflectively when caught by Collard's feint, but the feint sniffs that there is no lethality and struggles to restrain. Still, the movement was delayed, and Reurus gradually lost his hand.
"G... gaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
I can push back as it is.
The Reurus, who decided so, struck back with a slight slashing gap, but as expected, Collard's sword drew an arc.
"... ah?
When I realized it, the sword was disappearing from Reurus' hand. He was wound up by Collard's sword and hit by it.
Though for a few moments, thinking stops. Still, Reurus tried to hold his fist against Collard, but sooner than that, the tip of the sword was pointing to his throat.
"Well, this is the way a“ beautiful ”knight fights."
Collard, who bounced the sword that Reurus was holding, said with a small smile. Reurus realized that there was a match and lifted his hands with the fist he was gripping.
"... I'm here"
"Mm-hmm. It's a good thing you're being polite."
Collard pulls his sword while saying so. Then he turned away and saw the direction in which he flew the sword. As Reurus turned his gaze, Neddy ran off to pick up the sword.
"Even if I fly the sword, I have to think about the direction... no, it's nothing."
Neddy picks up the sword and runs back to Reurus. Collard seemed to be sweating cold for some reason, but shook his head before Reurus pointed it out.
"Well... let's do one more. But the next move is more realistic."
"...?
Reurus leans his neck thanking Neddy for picking up the sword. In response to such a revulsion, Collard smiled ill.
"I told you, this is a“ beautiful ”knight's way of fighting... next we will fight for everything. If you think you're just going to attack with a sword, you're going to hurt your eyes.
This time they will fly fists, kicks, etc. Reurus, who realized it, pulled his cheeks while holding the sword.
(... is this guy really tough?
It could be more spartan training than I thought. It was a Reurus that I thought about, but this is what I wanted.
He regained his temper, held his sword and challenged Collard again.
(This kid... what the hell does "this” mean?
He was Collard, Reurus' training partner, but his heart was full of doubt.
Reurus' sword stance has many gaps, and the stepping in is obviously amateur, and he swings the sword rather than slashing it with a sword. However, non-mold slashes are strangely sharp and heavy.
(I can understand that the slashing is heavy because it swings more than necessary and is gaining momentum, but... why is it that we are hardly caught in this movement?
In addition, Reurus showed an abnormal reaction.
Weaving falsehoods and slashing them avoids a real blow.
(You can't tell from my movements. Are your eyes good... no, “like a beast”? There is also a sense of caution that you cannot eat even if you provoke. Still, I don't hesitate to shake my sword....)
The way he fought did not leave the realm of amateurs, but his mental state was abnormal.
If you're just an amateur, just holding and shaking the sword can make you hesitate and conflicted. Those who do not put themselves in battle are bewildered by the mere act of slashing with a sword.
Remove such shackles and strengthen your preparedness within repeated training, where you will slay people and monsters in battle for the first time.
It is not surprising that Reurus has been acting as an adventurer until now, even if he is not hesitant to be slashed by others - but I don't think he has jumped into battle for about a year without training.
(This beast-like sword is also an advantage... strengths while scraping waste, right? Um, it's difficult, but it's also interesting.)
I've heard that it's been about a year since I became an adventurer, but to some extent, how can I "knock down” the foundations?
Sometimes it leads to his own training, and Collard waves his sword with a smile.
