A Chronicle of Life in a Different World
Episode 255: Signs Part 1
Following Collard, who heard several horses running, Reurus immediately returned to Laval Waste City with Neddy.
In case of trouble, it would be better to have as much combat power as possible. And now the Knight Kohlrad is with him. They may not believe you because you're dressed as an adventurer, but Collard's knowledge should be very reliable.
As long as the other person is friendly. However, it is unlikely, but it is also possible to denounce other countries. Laval Waste City is located south of Mataroi, so the possibilities are not zero.
What should I do if it is a reprimand? Reurus thinks that it is okay to slash it and say "I didn't come here”.
As they approached the abandoned city of Laval, Eliza and Sarah's "contract" was connected and magic flowed. Even if you are skilled now, you won't be late.
With that in mind, the south gate of the abandoned city of Laval was seen as the route of the rushing Reurus. In a place where the gatekeeper Tony usually resides, you can see multiple people riding from afar.
The number is five, as Collard heard. Each is wrapped in metal armor and has a spear in his hand.
(Ah, I feel like I'm already seeing something....)
It is a revulsion that seems to have happened before. However, unlike before, there was no sword-breathing air, and I heard the person standing at the forefront descending from the horse and talking to Tony.
"Lord Reus, or Lord Gilba, who lives in this city. If they weren't here, I'd like to see Esther."
"That's not true... I don't know who it is, but I can't nod even if I ask you to come and meet my fellow citizens in town all of a sudden."
There is nothing to be swallowed by when you hear a conversation in the wind. Tony seems to be responding with courtesy to the man who gets off the horse and talks about the matter.
"This is rude. I am Diego-Nate-Albani, knight of the House of Värg. Do you have any idea what you're up to?
Man - Reurus frowned on Diego's famous name. And he turned his gaze toward Kohllard, but Kohllard also leaned his neck with a strange face.
"No, I haven't heard anything...."
"... is that so? Do you have the name of Count Werg's house?
I can't tell from Collard's expression whether it is stupid or serious. From our previous relationship, Reus thinks we can do one of our belly tricks safely somehow.
The fact that Collard is stationed in Laval is a natural consequence of the Werg family's suspicion that Lewis is moving with some sort of idea.
"Don't look at me like that... I really don't know. I'm here because it's good for me in the first place. And your... no, it's nothing."
Collard distracts himself from seeing something in the middle of his words. Apparently, he tried to say “something” related to Reurus.
As a result, Reurus strengthens his gaze, but Collard walks to Diego to escape.
Did you notice the approaching Reurus? He turned his horse's neck with the eyes of soldiers and thinkers other than Diego on alert. But when I checked Collard's face, he got off the horse in a hurry.
"Diego."
When Collard called, Diego looked back with a wonderful look. And when I saw Collard's face, I smiled.
"Isn't it Lord Collard? Long time no see!
Diego doesn't say anything about Collard's costume and thinks he's purely happy to be reunited. But when he noticed Reurus standing behind Collard, he opened his eyes.
"Oh, Lord Reurus! Long time no see!
Diego showed a slight surprise, but immediately revealed his pleasure with a friendly smile.
"Long time no see, Diego."
Reurus also responded with a smile as a social resignation, but in his heart, vigilance brought his neck.
(Do you have business with me, Mr. Gilba, or Mr. Esther...? What the hell is this?)
Diego went out of his way to visit the abandoned city of Laval, and it smelled like trouble. It seems that there are no festivals that come to mind for Collard, but it increases the vigilance of Reurus.
In that way, Collard approached Diego with a stunned look on his face, taking Reurus elsewhere, who was so vigilant.
"Even with me, I'd like to know why you visited this town... but let me teach you one thing first."
"Thank you for listening."
A Diego with the same knighthood, but one step away from Collard. Reurus wondered about it, but he persuaded me to think about it.
(Ah... Collard is a knight of the country, but Diego is a knight of the Viscount Verge.)
To the kingdom - Collard, who serves the King directly, and Diego, who serves as knight to the Viscount of Velg. I wonder if he's in a different position than a jury.
"Your outfit is not worthy of visiting the Waste City. It's only natural to be alert if you dress up to the right place."
Collard is convinced that he is an adventurer from the eyes of Reurus. Even in terms of “leftovers”, there's nothing wrong with trying to step into the abandoned city of Laval.
"Hmm... I see, I didn't study this. Should I leave my horses, spears, and armor with my men?
"I would like to say that the sword is also appropriate... but it is also rude to ask me to change the sword given by my master for a while. If only you could imitate the costume of an adventurer like me, I wouldn't invite unnecessary vigilance..."
Now that Diego's instruction has begun, Reurus moves back to Tony. Then Tony opened his mouth somehow relieved.
"Honestly, thank you... I don't like guys like the old knights, but I don't like them coming on horses armed with courtesy."
"You can't just be polite..."
"Anyway, if you're an adventurer, who's clearly armed on a horse? Don't be a gatekeeper, I can't get through."
It seems that Tony was having trouble coping with it. When Reurus sighs and says he was right to come back soon, Diego approaches.
"I'm sorry for the sudden visit. I don't think I had any worries about your doorman."
"No... can I ask you something?
It would not be good to make too much noise in front of the gate. Diego looks at Reurus and walks out when Reurus pushes him to do the right thing. And a little further away from the gate, he hides his voice in his pocket so that Collard and Tony can't hear him.
"I have received a letter from the Vicomte de Velg addressed to the Administrator of the Waste City of Laval. I don't want Lord Reurus to mediate with the Administrator."
(... Mr. Lewis is a mess when I'm nominated there. Do you think I know who the janitor is... or did you expect to be "informed” when you returned to Laval City?
What happens if I ask Zilba or Esther to mediate? It was a revulsion to think like that, but I feel uncomfortable with Diego's words.
"From the Vicomte de Velg...? Not Mr. Lewis?
"Yes, it's the Viscount of Velg."
Reurus doesn't immediately know what the difference is. However, I didn't feel that the trouble was increasing.
(Does the name of the family mean that this letter was sent not by individuals but by the “general” of the Värg family? I didn't look at her face, but did Louis' father... bite one of the Viscount Vergus?
I want to go back to the letter empty-handed about what the administrator is. However, if you do that, it is a revulsion that feels like it will cause extra trouble.
"I also have a letter for Lord Collard....."
Reurus, who received the letter, said that he was conflicted, and Diego called Collard and handed him the letter. Collard raised his eyebrows surprisingly, but as soon as he received the letter, he began to check on the spot.
…………
As he proceeds to read the letter silently, Collard's expression becomes steeper. Eyebrows huge, and the mouth begins to pull like a bitter bug bite.
"... seriously... no, is this insane?
And it came out of his mouth that the letter was delivered, and that he doubted the sanity of the LORD. Collard thinks he's good at euthanasia, and it's an unusual outrage in a straight ball.
"As stated in the letter."
Do you know the contents of the letter? Diego didn't get too high when he heard Collard's words. He nods seriously and affirms Collard's doubts.
"... I see... are you crazy..."
Collard watches Reurus for some reason as he folds a letter. Reurus, who noticed the gaze, felt the unpleasant feeling getting stronger and stronger.
"... why are you looking at me there?
Does it have something to do with me? When Reurus asked with such a question, Collard sighed.
"No... the possibilities are not zero. Instead, if I knew he existed, I could hit him like this...."
"I'd like you to mutter deeply and not convince me by yourself....."
Explain the situation, but Collard shakes his head and closes his mouth. Reus dropped his gaze on the letter he received from Diego, but it was well sealed and the contents were not visible through.
(Hmm... I'm worried about the content, but I think it's better to give it to you first...)
Reurus whispers that his conjecture should be burned on the spot, but he has no choice but to weigh himself more than the name of the Vicomte de Velg.
"In the meantime, I have received this letter. Should I give it to the city's administrator?
Diego smiled happily when Reurus took on the idea.
"It would be helpful if you could do so. We're going to pick up the lodging in Laval, so I'd like a reply in three days....."
"Oh, I'll take care of the brokerage. If I were you, I'd get into both the abandoned city of Laval and Laval."
Collard bought an intermediary somewhere tired. Diego was a little surprised to hear it, but nodded immediately convincingly.
"Please. Now, Master Reurus, if you'll excuse us, we can have dinner together."
"Yeah... if I had the chance."
Reurus answers with his cheeks drawn to Diego's words. Compared to Carlo, the knight who had broken out in front of the abandoned city of Laval, it would be better, but there was also the trouble of not putting it underneath.
Reus stopped Diego and the others from leaving for Laval, and looked at Collard and sighed.
"Do you want to go back to the woods now and resume your training?
"I know you want to escape reality, but is there something you need to do now?
"That's right...."
Reus scratched his head and threw the envelope he had received from Diego into his pocket. Then dive through the gates of the abandoned city of Laval to get to Natalia.
Sorry to disturb you, Mr. Tony.
Don't forget to call Tony at that time. This time it was quiet because the opponent was Diego, but I thought I'd be tired as a gatekeeper.
Tony shrugs his shoulders, laughing bitterly at Reurus's words.
"Never mind, it's the gatekeeper's job too. But, well, what is it?"
Thought Tony stared at Reurus's face, he turned his gaze a few seconds later to the direction Diego and the others on the horse ran away.
And somewhere I murmured with emotion.
"... I wonder how things are changing..."
The tone of Tony's murmur finally lingered in Reurus's ear.
