A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 266: Journey Part 3

The journey with Ruvillia, the second daughter of the Värg family, is well under way.

Around five days after leaving the abandoned city of Laval, the attitude of Ruvillia and Anemone, who initially had no leeway, gradually softened, and they were communicating with the Reurus.

With the exception of Reurus and Collard, all remaining women are of age. The “real age” of Sarah and Neddy is suspicious, but there is no big age difference from the appearance alone.

Therefore, the narrower the shoulders from Reurus, the more women were getting along with each other.

All the children born are girls, and the man in the family is a realuse that tastes the mood of his own father.

(Glad Mr. Collard was with us.....)

With that in mind, Reurus turned to Collard, who walked ahead of the carriage.

Anemone seems to be able to serve as a ruler and is now holding the lead instead of Kohlrad. Ruvillia was in the carriage for a break, but Eliza and Meer were also in the carriage for a break.

That's why the four of us who search around the carriage will be Reurus and Sarah, Neddy and Collard, but Sarah's abilities will suffice.

Collard is still leading the way because the fortress city of Madalo, a temporary destination, is approaching. Knight Collard is at the forefront as he may encounter soldiers patrolling the vicinity of Madaro.

(But five days to Madalo... it's a little late after all)

Eliza was the only one who was with Reurus the first time he took his leg to Madalo - to be precise, to the Waste City of Madalo. At that time, Eliza was still in poor health, and Zilba accompanied her on her journey, taking care of the precautions and slowing down the journey, but it still took about four days to get from Laval City to Madalo City.

They don't get attacked by monsters or bandits on the way, and even when they meet soldiers on patrol, they don't spend much time with Collard. Still, it took me five days to get to Ruville.

Even with Eliza when she was weak, it would have been a journey of about three days if she hadn't stopped by. That said, it took five days because the movement speed was slow and Ruvillia's physical condition was taken into consideration and she took frequent breaks.

(... well, it's not a hasty journey to meditate on Ruvillia's condition.)

It takes time, but there is no great dissatisfaction with Reurus.

It's not like there was a water shortage in the abandoned city of Laval before. It is still close to the maximum speed, taking care not to cause Ruvillia to get sick.

(Besides, Ruvillia-san is doing her best... and you can't even complain.)

The slow pace of movement does not mean that Ruvillia is out of hand. Rather, he is desperate enough to worry about Reurus.

Born into the Vicomte and raised as a flower and a butterfly, Ruvillia worked surprisingly hard on this journey.

Even if I'm tired of walking, I don't cry, but I can't help but take my physical condition into account and rest in the carriage. When I get back in strength, I walk on my feet again. It seemed simple and natural, but this would not have happened if I had grown up as much as possible.

That's right, I can't let you sleep at night, and when you eat, you sleep like mud, but I don't blame you for it. I woke up in the morning and my whole body had muscle pain, but I didn't complain about the muscle pain just by staring at my face.

Because I am not used to walking for a long time, I rubbed my shoes and had blood beans on the soles of my feet, but I pulled my lips tightly and didn't feel any pain in my mouth.

Of course, because fatigue can cause shoe scratches and blood beans to be unable to walk due to pain, they are treated immediately by anemone. Anemone brought in magic medicine to heal the wound and make sure it didn't have a big impact.

Overall, Reurus felt the strength of his willingness to bet on Ruvillia's journey. I felt a strong will to do everything desperately, diligently.

(I thought the trouble jumped in, but as a client... no, it wouldn't be bad if I saw it as an “individual".)

Talking with Natalia, Ruvillia has some sort of temptation - and hence that of the Viscount Vergus. It is clear not only from the abandoned city of Laval and the Viscount of Velg, but also from the perceived involvement of several nobles in the reward.

Ruvillia's posture is favorable when viewed with the hassles out. I knew a little bit of character because I had met with him before, but it would be a good idea to raise your hands when it comes to escorting.

(In terms of personality, Mr. Anemone... no, don't say anything...)

Looking at Ruvillia's desperation, Reurus thought that Annemone's attitude was irresistible. However, it does not imitate telling the person, and Reus looks away.

Beyond his gaze was a wall built to surround Madalo.

Reurus, who had reached the gates of Madalo, stepped into the walls of Madalo without getting into trouble.

Reurus testified to the Spirit's "Guest", Eliza and the others lowered the Spirit's certificate from their necks, and on top of that, Knight Collard assured their identity, so they could simply pass through with a toll.

Ruvillia and Anemone were notified in advance or were not subject to toll taxes. A soldier who was checking his identity was pulling his cheeks, but it would be natural to know that the noble lady was travelling with only a few guards.

Reurus, who was escorted by soldiers with subtle faces, dived through Madalo's gates and exhaled relief, Collard says.

"First, take a place to stay and rest well. The departure is scheduled for tomorrow, but depending on Luviria's condition, she may leave the day after tomorrow."

The time was just around noon, and you can sleep a lot if you take an inn from now on. Unlike camping, they are not alert to monsters and bandits, and can rest in a calm environment.

Reurus was in charge of most of the night shift as an escort. Since I can work without sleeping in about three days, there are few problems even if the sleep time is short, but I feel a little sleepy when I have fallen asleep on a five-day trip.

But Ruvillia was the one who was most tired. Though I don't throw up weak noises, it's natural because of the large difference in physical strength. For this reason, Reus questioned Ruvillia while checking her condition.

Are we staying at the hotel too?

"It's only natural because you're a guard, right? Except, of course, for the room... You can leave the carriage with the innkeeper and ask the innkeeper to arrange the food for the trip. It's a bit expensive, but now it's better to get tired than to spare money."

I won't put it on my face, but Collard will also be a little tired. How much of a burden is placed on your body, such as escorting a noble lady on a journey?

In the case of Collard, Reurus nodded, wondering whether he should worry about the stomach burden.

"If that's the case, I'll let you rest. But if you need an escort, why don't you ask Eliza and Meer?

Reurus can't step into Ruvillia's room, but if he's of the same sex, he'll be fine. In addition, if Eliza and Meer had no problem with manners and character, Annemone wouldn't complain.

Of course, I'm not telling Eliza and Meer not to rest. All you have to do is rest in the same room as Ruvillia.

The surrounding vigilance is planned to be performed by Reurus after a light sleep.

"It's in town, and you don't have to worry about it. Please rest well, Reurus and the others."

"As for me, I'm afraid I don't have to say hello to the lord of this land...."

The colour of fatigue appears on her face, but Ruvillia smiles so that she doesn't feel it. Speaking of anemones, I am worried about not having to go through Madalo's lord's face.

"This visit is not official, and it is difficult to deal with it. There will be a report coming up from the soldiers at the gate, so I will come out... My maid, do you bring clothes that you can see through the Lord?

"... I'll take care of Ruvillia's escort. If only Reurus and the others could think of resting on their bodies, as Ruvillia said....."

Did you think Collard's allegations were correct? Anemone lowered her speaker as she was convinced.

"I don't want you to think that it's safe... because it's in town. Compared to the abandoned city, it would be safe and secure, but even in Accra, Gregorians were lurking."

"That's... no, that's right. But don't worry. If you're out there, it's a maid's fame to have your master attacked by thieves all over town."

Then Reurus cautioned and Anemone convinced him of the objection. This may also be due to the softening of attitude, but Reurus murmurs inside only.

(That being said, it was suddenly attacked at the house of the Vicomte de Velg... no, it was like Lewis called me in at the time.)

Although I think so, the Gregorians are targeting powerful monsters. Gregorians are unlikely to attack us all over town.

Reurus with Eliza, Sarah, Meer and Neddy is in danger of being attacked, but at least there should be no reason for Ruvillia and Anemone to be attacked.

(... let's take a room somewhat away from the inn)

In the first place, can Reurus and his adventurers rent accommodation even though they put up spirituality signs? Though it bothered me, Reurus and the others went to the inn for a while.

And that night.

Reurus, who was able to rent the accommodation safely, was carrying his leg to the canteen where the accommodation was located.

Because it is within the walls of Madalo, or because the border is so close, it seems that there are quite a few people staying at the inn. There are many merchants, their escorts, or travelers, and no one seems to be an adventurer at first glance.

The inn and dining room were large enough to multiply Dominic's restaurants. I don't know if I can expect the food to taste good, but at least it seems to be thriving.

Because it is possible to use only the cafeteria, not only the people staying at the inn, but also the neighbors are coming to eat.

"Still, it took so long. I thought Reurus had arrived earlier carrying Ruvillia, not in a carriage.

…………

It was Sarah and Neddy who sat next to Reurus, who reserved seats in the cafeteria. There are many eyes from the surroundings on whether they dress as adventurers or whether they look like them.

Eliza and Meer are asleep in the room. Reurus tried to get some sleep first, but the two were more tired, so he let them rest first.

"If you try to do that, Annemone will attack you before you carry her... and Collard's stomach hurts so much."

Ah, yeah, well, then I can't help it.

Is it helpful because Anemone is attacking me, or is it helpful because Collard's stomach hurts? Reurus was either concerned or decided not to ask, considering the possibility of the latter.

"How's Neddy? Are you tired?

"Yeah... I'm still fine..."

Sarah is fine no matter how she looks, so she just checks on Neddy's condition. Sarah makes noise that she's tired when she's tired, so she can tell right away without checking.

"I see... but tell me as soon as you're tired.

Reurus nodded silently as he cautioned. After confirming that, Reurus raised his hips to finish his meal for now.

Now that we have seats, all we have to do is order the food and wait for it to be ready.

(Speaking of which, when I went to Madalo Waste Town, there was fried rice... would it taste a little better here?

Ask what dishes are available and rechallenge if you have fried rice. With that in mind, Reurus turned to Sarah and Neddy.

"What do you two want to eat?

"--Hmm, I'm good with meat."

And Sarah and Neddy heard that voice from behind before they answered.
