A Chronicle of Life in a Different World
Episode 316: To the King's City Part 1
On the day of journey to King's Landing.
The Reurus were to get up earlier than usual on that day and assemble with the Adventurers' Union before sunrise.
But before he went to the Adventurers' Union, Reurus was on his way to Dominic's restaurant. Dominic and Corona were greeted on their way out.
Well then, I'll go.
"Yes... please come back safely this time.
"Natalia and Gilba would be fine, but don't be alarmed."
Corona worries about her eyes, while Dominic braces his arms and speaks words that concern Reurus and the others.
"I'm not going to exterminate the monster, and it's not dangerous... maybe"
While laughing bitterly, Reurus got it in his pocket. And when I take out the keys to my house, I hand them over to Corona.
"I'm going to bother Corona again....."
"It's okay because I do what I like. I'll keep the house clean while Reurus and the others are gone."
"Thank you. This time we're going to King's Landing, so look forward to a souvenir."
I'm sorry about every time, Reurus, but I don't have anyone else to give the keys to except Corona.
You could have given Esther the money and offered it to the children of the church as a job, but there was no one more than Corona to receive the keys to your home when you returned home.
You can ask Dominic, but Corona looked lonely when she tried to give you the key.
That's why he handed Corona the key, but Corona smiled with a grip on her chest.
"Mr. Reurus... there is no more souvenir than the safe return of Mr. Reurus.
"If that's what they say, they'll definitely have to come back safely...."
Reus said so, and Corona pointed out her right little finger with a smile. Seeing it, Reurus smiled gently and tangled his little finger.
"It's a promise."
Yeah, I promise.
Reurus and Corona laugh at each other. Then Dominic coughs up deliberately when he sees it.
"Ohhh! Well, what is it... it's time to go to the union?
"Well, that's right... then I'll go."
Dominic prompted Reurus to look up at the sky. It still takes time for the sun to rise, but I plan to leave as “invisible" as possible.
Reurus turned his back on Corona and Dominic, unfortunately. Then he joined Eliza and the others who were waiting a long time away.
Eliza and the others should have said hello to Corona and Dominic, but she was reluctant. However, since I spoke lightly when I went to dinner last night, I may not need to say hello again.
Reurus, who joined Eliza and the others, headed for the Adventurers' Union at his feet. As the sun rises, the bustling boulevards are not popular, and there are no lights in private homes.
It was cool in autumn, and it seemed like there was some lonely air, but there was the town of Laval Waste, which was familiar to Reurus.
You may then continue along an almost unmanned avenue for a while. With occasional greetings from adventurers in charge of night-time vigilance, Reurus arrives at the Adventurers Association.
Then, in front of the Adventurers Association, there was a luggage truck that was taken care of during the previous trip and three people.
One is in Gilba, carrying a leather backpack in a black monk costume. Gilba seemed accustomed to getting up early and traveling, and as usual, she smiled and welcomed the Reurus in a way that did not see any gaps.
One is Bartolo, president of the Adventurers Association. He was unarmed and had a very rough look on his pants and shirt.
And the last one was Natalia.
"Good morning... is something wrong?
Natalia was greeted by greetings, but Reurus and the others watched Natalia silently. Natalia leaned her neck toward the fact that the eyes of the Reus were gathering, but she was confused even as a Reus.
"Something's wrong..."
…… Travel suit, but is there something wrong?
Natalia said that and dropped her gaze on her body, but there's nothing strange about it.
Despite the fabric, Natalia wore long-sleeved shirts and trousers that women adventurers chose. I didn't wear armor and other protective equipment, but I thought I was used to wearing leather shoes, and I was wearing a thicker coat.
Purple hair that usually hangs straight is also arranged in the form of ponytail, like when cooking with a revulsant.
"It's not crazy... right... yeah"
"I see... it's not strange... it shouldn't be..."
After seeing Natalia, Meer and Eliza looked at each other and exchanged words that seemed unconfident.
"Honestly, I thought it was someone!
"... yeah"
In contrast to Meer and Eliza, Sarah was throwing a straight ball with a smile. Neddy nods with his face.
Even with Reurus, I can understand how Eliza and the others reacted. It's too different from the “usual” outfit for the brain to handle.
"Hey... you're not always dressed like that when you travel, are you?
"That's right....."
Natalia says she's amazed, but she can only nod ambiguously to Reurus.
(Speaking of which, I had the image of that black dress... that's why I was glad there was a gap in how I dressed when I cooked...)
This goes beyond the gap. While thinking so, Reurus shook his head and switched consciousness.
"Er... the union president is here..."
I'll see you off.
Bartolo answers briefly and concisely. However, she felt a little restless, and while bracing her arms, she tapped her arms with her fingers.
"I feel strange about that?
"... until Natalia returns, I have to run the Adventurers Association and keep the town safe. It makes me nervous."
While Administrator Natalia is away, Bartolo appears to be running Laval Waste City on his behalf. Reurus is convinced that it is certainly not strange to be nervous.
"We're all here. Shall we leave and join Collard... Guild leader, please say hello to the rest?”
"Leave it to me. At a minimum, the foundation should be in place."
Together, Reurus and the others march toward the north gate of the abandoned city of Laval. Collard was waiting outside town with his horse, and Reurus had to tow the truck manually until he met him.
The truck was loaded with food, travel gear, etc., so it was quite heavy, but the truck modified by Calvin was able to move smoothly once it started moving.
"... what was that?
Reus asks as he throws his own clothes and travel gear into his truck and goes to the north gate of the abandoned city of Laval. It was about interacting with Bartolo, but Natalia, who walked ahead of the carriage, answered without hesitation.
"I'm asking you to be prepared to spread the word about independence. Talk to the influential people in the abandoned city of Laval, except those who know where I stand."
Apparently he was fighting after he returned from King's Landing.
There is no difference in identity among the residents of the abandoned city of Laval, but there is nevertheless an upward/downward relationship between age and work. If you're an acquaintance of Reurus, Dominic, one of the faces of the abandoned city of Laval, will win.
Dominic knows Natalia's position, however, and he knows that Reurus and the others are on their way to King's Landing this time. Bartolo will be a little more “downstairs” when he leaves the abandoned city this time.
"But if you've lived in this town for a long time, you probably know that."
Natalia says it's really necessary. As a prelude to independence, the abandoned city of Laval will calm down to the point where it is encouraged to be prepared.
"All we can do is go to King's Landing and come back safely... so we can finally get to the beginning of our dreams."
First, go to King's Landing and get permission for independence. And secure the land to actually thrive on the town.
There are a few other things Reurus needs to do to get to the Spiritual Church, but we need to get through them and get back to Laval City safely.
"When I listen to you on the side, it sounds like it's hard to get home safely...."
Meea murmured anxiously as she listened to Reus and Natalia's conversation. Natalia waved with a bitter smile.
"As we get closer to King's Landing, security will improve, and I'm not worried about the journey itself. Besides, if there's anything I can do, I'll meet people in King's Landing... but don't worry, it's not for you, it's for me."
Natalia nods relieved when she says so.
In fact, as Natalia said, there is nothing to worry about on your journey to King's Landing. In addition to Natalia, a quasi-bar, who serves as the administrator of the abandoned city of Laval, he is accompanying him to Zilba.
Problems will not arise in a militant sense or an identity sense.
That's how Reurus and the others talk and leave the abandoned city of Laval. And as he walked along Laval's empty moat, he saw Collard in the distance.
I'm wearing metal armor this time, unlike on my last trip, because I'm going to King's Landing. Perhaps Natalia's accompaniment requires him to behave as a knight.
Metal armor covering the whole body, spear in hand, sword in the waist. It seems like a knight to stand while holding the ropes of two horses.
"Good morning, Collard. Would you do me a favor this time?
"Good morning, Mr. Collard. I'm counting on you."
"Ha... haha!
But Natalia and Collard, who greeted her smiling face in front of Gilba, were pale enough to be seen from the side.
Collard is holding his spear in an upright position, but perhaps he is stabbing the spear into the ground to prevent his body from collapsing.
"Good morning... are you all right?
As Reurus greets him, Collard turns his gaze at him in a clumsy movement like a Zenmai puppet.
"This is my job too... that's why I'm fine..."
(... are you sure you're okay?
It was a Reurus that feared Collard before the journey or the King's Landing.
