A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 338: Mock Warfare Part 6

Run, run, run the earth.

Reurus ran like a beast, running around Bernard with a spear.

The reason for running around is simple. That was how he decided that there was no chance of winning by stopping and looking for Bernard's way out.

It's only a few dozen seconds, but I've figured it out. It means that if you are fighting “decently," you will be unilaterally ravaged.

Strength is almost mutually reinforcing.

Speed is slightly dominated by Reurus.

The skill is the difference between cloud and mud, and the combat experience is not comparable.

There is no big difference between the weapons that swing, and in the sense of direct combat, it would be more difficult than Rebecca.

…………

Bernard is silently watching Reurus rushing around at a rate that is likely to leave a lasting image, making his physical abilities lifted by "caloric release."

Bernard changes his standing position to match the movement of the Reurus and always captures the Reurus in sight, but does not shoot the spear.

Reuses do not always run at full capacity, and do not consciously increase or decrease speed to squeeze targets. The moment he shows his monotonous movements, Bernard's spear will catch Reurus.

The ideal is to let Bernard fake it, but I don't think he'll forgive me for doing so. For this reason, Reurus rushed around Bernard to explore the gap.

At the same time, Reurus focused on Bernard's magic. It's called "Heavenly Thunder." You should think that you can handle more powerful lightning magic than Eliza, and it is not strange that the lightning magic is released instantly without even accumulating it.

Of course, it won't be used in mock fights, but given the magnitude of Bernard's magic, it is possible to deal with advanced magic.

The powerful magic Sarah used against the slime on Lake Mersena - how powerful would it be if it were to be released as lightning magic?

I don't think they'll shoot me in a carriage with an “audience”, even though I'm at a distance. Still, when I thought I had those hands, I had to watch out for invisible magical movements.

"I see, it's fast inside... so let's do this."

There was a movement in Bernard's magic, an arrow point on which Reurus was wary about magic. Even if he was struck by magic, Reurus tried to tear him apart with Dragon Slash, but Bernard did something unexpected.

"Hmm!?

--My eyes are crushed.

An apparently dazzling lightning beam is emitted from Bernard's body, burning Reurus's sight. To paraphrase the knowledge of the previous life, it was like looking directly at the flash of a camera, and Reurus stopped his feet unexpectedly in an “attack”.

"It's a small craftsman, but it'll work well for people who watch my movements, right?

At the same time as you hear such a voice, you have a similar plan to kill.

The wind chirp struck Reurus' earlobes as he stepped in.

"Ooh, oooh!

I can't see, but I can feel signs and sounds. It is a visually sealed realus, but with intuition, it waves the "Dragon Slash", and Bernard swings the spear with a blade and plays it forcefully.

One, two, three. Relying on signs, magic, and sound, Reurus diverts himself from Bernard's string of strikes. Whenever the blade and spear handle of "Dragon Slasher" collide, a severe shock is transmitted, but it is not a power that cannot be lowered.

"Hmm... it's a big deal whether you have a good guess or a good ear. Hey, here's the next trick."

"Gu!?

The moment I met Bernard's spear and Dragon Slash, a thunderbolt ran through my body. I don't see it, but he probably had a spear wrapped in lightning, Reus said.

Whatever magic is released, it can't be slashed in contact with it. The burning pain was transmitted from both hands holding the "Dragon Slash", and the body was numb and stopped moving due to lightning strikes.

The sight, too, is a fatal gap in front of Bernard's hand. It would be easier to defeat Reurus than Bernard if he stopped moving.

Bernard's spear approaches. Reurus feels that way with sound and signs. The spear's handle is approaching in a trajectory that strikes Reurus' head to steal consciousness or lean aside.

Rather than taking away consciousness, the power of the skull is about to collapse, and at a speed that can't be avoided by a numb body - the body of Reurus was moving to wonder if "such a thing” was known.

"Nut!?

A slight consternation leaking from Bernard's mouth.

Even though the Reurus was supposed to be numb, he came here and chose not to defend himself. He swallowed his teeth and shook the Dragon Slash on Bernard's torso as he prepared for the impact of his spear.

I can't afford to put magic into Dragon Slash. Still, a slight response was conveyed at the tip.

"Giggle!?

Then, the impact hits the head before you can feel the response. The impact running to the left head floats the body of the revus and blows it straight to the side.

If it's normal, it's a blow to death with a broken neck. I would have seen through the ruggedness of the Reurus and adjusted its power, but if I was distracted, it would have been the power that I would have taken to my neck.

It jumped slightly in line with the impact, but there are limits to mitigating it. Instantly deprived of sight by lightning, Reurus rolled the ground without defying momentum - jumping up quickly.

"Th... iiiiiing. Now my neck bones are pounding....."

"I was wrong to just look at it... what kind of body you're wearing"

Bernard shouted in surprise at the appearance of Reurus, who jumped up energetically and set up a "Dragon Slash".

It must have been quite powerful to feel pain even when using "Caloric Release". Reurus tries to rub his neck lightly, but he doesn't seem to have a broken bone. The sudden impact must have caused the bones to burst.

(If I hadn't used 'Calorie Release', I'd be dead...)

While capturing Bernard's appearance with a vision gradually regaining color, Reurus murmured with only his heart. When I touched the temples feeling something was conveying, there was blood sticking to my left hand.

(This attack doesn't end the battle... because you're the judge. You think I can stand it, even though you're being dragged down?

Reurus laughs bitterly because he doesn't like trust. The game will be over with a "bottle", but he won't stop until he sees that Reurus can still fight.

(No... because they're still intact.)

The gradual return of vision was captured by the wounds on Bernard's flank. Luckily, it hit the gap in the armor, though slightly bleeding.

The extent of the wound would be more serious for Reurus. However, the bleeding of the head was blocked by Eliza's "contract" over time.

It may not be necessary to wait for the passage of time to “drag out" Eliza and Sarah's power through the "contract", as it was when the "neck hunt" was defeated, but I don't know if it can be reproduced as it is.

I also wonder if I could use Eliza and Sarah's help in a mock fight.

(Not now...)

The strength of Reurus is based on Eliza and Sarah's "contract." Working as an adventurer has trained your body enough to fight without a contract, but without a supply of magic from both of you, you'll be weak for a few steps.

Using "caloric release" is a different story, but the "contract" with Eliza and Sarah is also commonplace as the earliest revulsion.

Although slightly wounded, Reurus gradually concentrates on his consciousness, as opposed to Bernard, whose war is strengthened by his wounds. I took a turn from the running situation and lowered the "Dragon Slash" loosely to take a stance that was irrelevant.

This is a mock fight, not a killing match. Still, the consciousness of Reurus before the strong Bernard is sharpened, and he tries to contain even a little of the magic released "outside” by "Caloric Liberation".

I have tried and failed many times in practice, but once I succeeded.

Just like in the "neck hunt", there are enemies in front of you who can't win with all their might. If you recognize that fact, you can bury it in yourself faster, deeper, and deeper than in practice.

However, it does not end up like when you defeated "Neck Hunting." “That's not enough.”

Because your body doesn't recognize death no matter how much you concentrate, you can't imitate Eliza, Sarah, and both forces simultaneously.

--Still, I was able to pull out “one side”.

The flame rises from Reurus's "Dragon Slash". It's Sarah's flame, usually exercised through a contract.

“It” is manipulated solely by the will of Reurus, and the magic is manifested in the form of flames.

"SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Watching Reurus create a flame, Bernard stares up and waves "Dragon Slash". It is a magical blade with a flame that is then released. In terms of visibility, it is greatly inferior to the usual magic blade, but greatly superior in terms of power.

Bernard sees it and wipes it out with a spear wrapped in thunder. Flames and lightning collide, offsetting each other and disappearing.

Meanwhile, Reus was running. Since you are concentrating on your consciousness, you cannot make complex movements, and you push in with the "Dragon Slash" from the front.

A lightning Bernard's spear approached, and the great sword of Reurus in flames played it. Now, without numbness, they hit each other with weapons.

"Nut!?

And Bernard was defeated by the collision, which was almost mutually reinforcing until just now. A spear attempting to defeat Reurus is fired.

Nevertheless, Bernard took advantage of the momentum of even the spear being fired and immediately regained his position. The slash launched by Reurus is not played with force, but is passed on with technology.

On this occasion, Reurus totally surpassed Bernard in terms of power alone.

However, Bernard will not be rumored to be the strongest in Mataroi if it collapses. If you strike straight, you will calmly and accurately parry the slash that is about to be cut off and burned out with a spear.

"Interesting."

Then, he stepped up his “awareness” of Reurus and laughed ferociously.
