A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 359: Part 1 in the Dwarf Settlement

Vanille showed up less than an hour after the Reurus arrived at the dwarf settlement.

The settlements were not for those who chose to live in the abandoned city of Laval like Calvin, but only for those who temporarily dug up “houses” in the ground next to the abandoned city of Laval and moved to the foothills of the volcano of Veos in the introduction of Reurus.

Originally, nearly fifty dwarves formed settlements in the mountains of Count Werg, but Meer, Calvin, and four others settled in the abandoned city of Laval, and ten dwarves in the abandoned city of Madalo, which had previously been attacked by several intermediate monsters.

In other words, there should be about thirty-five dwarves in the dwarf settlement, but the total number of dwarves who welcomed the Reurus is more than fifty. I don't know if they're all there, so if they succeed, it's likely to increase even more.

So when I talked to a dwarf who had seen his face before, I heard rumours that the dwarves of other settlements had merged.

For the first time, I put my luggage away, warmed up the old relationship, and heard about the situation - in the middle of it suddenly a creature with enormous magic approached.

The magic was so great that it could be felt from a distance that Reurus unexpectedly looked up at the sky.

Nice to meet you! So, what do we do now?

"See you next time."

The time is already past evening and the surroundings are getting dark. It should be inappropriate to fly in the sky, but Vanille flew in like a candle.

Now, if there was any hostility against Vanille, Reurus would take a different approach, but I recognized it as a “greeting” of the Vanille style as early as possible.

But as a dwarf, Reurus thinks it won't work either. After all, a firedragon that had a territory around the volcano Veos suddenly arrived. While thinking that it was not strange to panic, Reurus looked around, and for some reason the dwarves did not show a big reaction.

Reurus wondered about it, but when he heard Reurus' response, Vaniel instantly disappeared. He was supposed to have been idle over the dwarf colony, but if he had noticed, he would have "changed" into a human figure and landed on the ground.

"What, it's boring."

"It's boring...."

When Vaniel says boring, Reurus answers with his shoulders down. But I wondered if I snorted unexpectedly, and I moved my eyebrows with interest.

"Hmm? There's a strange smell sticking to the sword... not that shithead, but another monster... that stinks of blood, too?

"I've thought about it before, but what kind of nose are you wearing..."

Vanille said he smelled the smell of the "neck hunting" he had engaged while looking for the Unicorn Axis.

On a long journey with Ruvillia, Vanier never showed up on the way back anyway. That's why I didn't tell them I defeated the Neck Hunt.

"Hmm... if you're not going to fight, at least comfort my boredom with a funny story."

That's how Vaniel sits on the ground. Then, about three dwarves rushed out and returned in less than a minute.

"Go ahead, Vaniel's husband."

Hmm.

What Dwarves brought in in a hurry were bottles and wooden cups, and dried meat in wooden dishes. The bottle seems to contain alcohol. When I opened the lid, the aroma of alcohol also arrived in Reurus.

"Try drinking... aren't you ready to tell me how much you like dwarfs?

"You idiot! Occasionally, Vaniel's husband comes for a drink, so I'm ready to serve it!

Apparently it is not uncommon for Vaniel to visit dwarf settlements. It seems that the residents realized it was always the case that they didn't show much reaction even when they appeared in the form of a firedragon.

"No, wait. Don't you think they'll eat you if you show up like a firedragon?

It was a convincing revus once, but I put in a comment that it would be strange.

Eliza and Meer nodded in support of Reurus, Neddy hid behind Reurus to watch out for Vanille, and Sarah somehow robbed Vanille of the dried meat and burned it with fire.

Dwarves who heard about Reurus face to face, explaining why this happened.

"What if Vaniel's husband goes mad and doesn't have time to resist? So let's drink together so we don't lose our mood! That's what happened."

"I love you around the idea that drinking with me won't hurt my mood."

I don't know how to react to the dwarfs' situation. Still, it's not usually courageous to do it without fear of Vernier more than necessary, thinking that drinking together will solve the situation.

"Fire Dragon? It's chaotic and dangerous."

With that said, Reurus sat face to face with Vanille. I decided to follow Dwarf's lead and try drinking with him for now.

(... ah, speaking of which, you drank alcohol with me the other day)

Which mouth says the Fire Dragon is dangerous? Remembering that he had already been drinking with Vernier, Reurus took a glass of wood from the dwarf and started drinking with Vernier.

"Besides, I don't like to slaughter indiscriminately, do I? Of course I'll kill you if you're on your way, or if you're angry."

I knew he was dangerous.

"What happens to you drinking in front of a dangerous guy like that?

A dwarf that puts a snack on a Reurus and a snack on a Reurus. Reus, who heard the words, was convinced that that was also the case and withdrew.

Indeed, Vernier is dangerous, and if he attacked me “seriously”, he would have no chance of winning, but he is not a meaningless killer.

"So? What happened when you went to Grandpa's?

I've come to talk to the dwarves about the independence of the abandoned city of Laval, but if we don't satisfy Vannille's curiosity, we won't be released. Reurus sighed and talked about his previous journey.

"I see, if you think the smell of blood is strangely strong, you cut off the" neck hunting "...."

It's getting dark in a dwarf settlement illuminated by fire. Speaking with Vanille while drinking between the fires, Vanille leaks her voice as she thinks.

Soon the dwarfs began to drink around them, making them wonder if it was true that they were afraid of Vanille.

"He came out about five years ago, and at that time, a Gregorian bishop named Canna fell down. Looks like it hasn't been that long since I was born, but it was a mess."

Reurus adds that he nearly died of being strangled. Instead, I almost died of being torn in half.

When I told him about the characteristics of the "neck hunt" and the way it was fought - especially the cracks that were running through space - Vanier leaned his neck while drinking.

"The Neck Hunter imitated that... did Grandpa Shit say anything?

"Hmm... even as a grandfather, you said, 'Neck hunting' is the first time I've done that."

Reurus exchanged words with Vernier as he grabbed the dinner prepared by the dwarves, saying that dried meat alone was not enough.

"Nooo... I can't tell you that I don't want to see the real thing. Nevertheless, you defeated" Castle Collapse "and now you're" Head Hunting ". You are truly blessed with strange relationships."

Vanille laughs softly, but Sarah leans her neck when she hears the words.

"What? You don't know Vaniel? You fought the slime between Castle Crash and Neck Hunting?

"... what?

A slight silence sandwiched the voices of Vanille slightly lowered.

"... I didn't hear you."

"... didn't I tell you?

As Vanille's eyes narrowed, Reurus also inclined his neck strangely. I didn't deceive you, but I didn't have the opportunity to speak purely.

I only met Vaniel once on my journey with Ruvillia after I fought the slime. At that time, I checked the information about the unicorn, but it suddenly disappeared from my head because of the impact that appeared as a human figure.

"In other words, did you take down" Country Eater "and" Head Hunting "in" Castle Crash "... and become a Gregorian after all?

After all, Reurus shook his neck sideways while putting in a comic strip.

"As for the slime, I didn't defeat it alone... and I was deeply involved in spiritualism, so I couldn't be a Gregorian. I didn't mean to believe it."

Rather than becoming a Gregorian, it was time to kill the bishop. In addition, Sarah and Neddy have been recognized as spirits, and Reurus' position is close to spiritualism.

Of course, it's just a spiritualism “stopover”, and if there's anything hostile, I'm going to move accordingly.

"It seems like we're moving beyond the strange realm as early as possible... but we're living a life full of jealousy and turbulence."

"I'm not happy to be jealous of this....."

Looking back at the environment surrounding him, Reurus sighed deeply. Vanille frowned on the look of the realuse, pouring wine into the realuse's glass and questioning it.

"Speaking of which, what are you doing here this time? There's nothing more to do than sell me a fight, right?

"It's amazing how confident you can say that. I came here for one reason... no, because I had two purposes."

Determining that he would not retreat even if he tried to hide it, Reurus explains why they visited the dwarf settlement.

"I wanted the help of everyone in the dwarf, and I wanted to ask Vaniel what he knew about the contract."

When Reus said so, Vanille's eyes narrowed with a slight sharpness.
