A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 395: Collard in Trouble Part 1

After meal breakfast and lunch, Reurus leaves his home to look for Collard. “Late” is because I thought if I had a job, I would have to work on it.

Collard was ordinarily in charge of town building and was found without the need to search the town of Speranza. Apparently, he was consulting with the dwarf about the house to be built in the future, and Reurus was able to find it within five minutes of leaving his home.

When Collard also noticed the appearance of Reurus, he broke up with the dwarf and walked towards Reurus.

"It's already noon, but good morning. I'm sorry I slept."

As Reurus lowered his head, Collard raised his eyebrows worried.

"I heard nothing happened... are you okay? The town and the fields are taking shape, so if you're tired, you can rest for a few days...."

I'm sorry about the revulsion because my voice color is bleeding with worry. If Reurus, who had been moving around cheerfully every day until then, suddenly falls asleep, there's nothing to worry about.

"It's okay. It's not just tired, it's unexpected."

"Hmm... unexpected events..."

That said, Collard looks seriously at Reurus' face. Reurus, questioning Collard's gaze, decided to ask him some questions.

"Do you have anything to do today? Besides, if Mr. Collard has free time, I'd like to ask him a few questions...."

"I don't see any monsters anymore, and I don't have any work to be done quickly. My time... well, it's not like there's something imminent..."

Reurus leans his neck toward Collard, who for some reason looks at him with caution.

"Isn't that a hassle to ask?

"It could be a problem."

"Wait a little"

When Reurus answered honestly, Collard fished his pocket and took out the paper wrap. Then I thought I'd solved the paper wrap and poured the “contents” into my mouth. Then he carried a bottle of water down to his waist to his mouth and started drinking water.

"... okay, I'm ready. Come on, talk to me."

"Thank you, but what was that?

"Never mind."

Though he leaned his neck and said it was a stomach medicine, Reurus honestly decided to spoil Collard's advice.

"Er... maybe you'll fall asleep if your magic decreases at once?

Reurus chose the first topic to be less stimulating for the time being.

"I lost my magic all at once... is that you?

"... yeah"

"Hmm...."

As Reurus nodded, Collard narrowed his eyes with his hand on his chin. And when I thought I'd spent a few seconds thinking, I laughed bitterly.

"First of all, I can only use 'strengthening'. I've never been in a situation where magic is drained at once."

I don't know what Reurus should say to Collard, who adds that he has little magic. Still waiting for the story to continue, Collard looks up at the sky with his eyes closed.

"That's all I've heard... but I often hear stories of passing out using magic to the limit. I don't want to hear about how using magic beyond its limits can cause abnormalities in my body...."

Collard keeps his eyes shut to pull out his knowledge.

"However, even if the magic remains, I have heard the story of falling down after the magic is exhausted at once. It seems to be a familiar area, but I've seen Wizard Recruits fall" softly ”on the battlefield."

"Are you used to it....."

Reurus slammed his gavel and leaned his neck inside.

(If you deplete your magic all at once, you fall down... don't you think you'll fall asleep? Or is it because I'm so drowsy that I can't resist...?

It seems that even Collard only knows as much as rumors about what he's not experiencing.

(But in my case, the magic gradually decreases when I use "Caloric Release"... if it decreases gradually, "I'm used to it”, but did you fall asleep because you took less than 20% at once?

I don't know about magic or magic, but Reurus frowns.

"Incidentally, if I use magic beyond my limits, what happens to my body?

"Well... you can only say that it depends on the situation around here. From what I've heard, I think it's mild, a few days of fainting, and if it's somewhat heavy, my five senses will get abnormal. After that....."

Collard cut words there, but Reurus understood what he wanted to say. Then, I look back at my own memory and convince myself.

(Speaking of which, when I first fought Kimira, I fell asleep a few days after I used 'Calorie Release'... that was pretty bad...)

If the situation were different, it might not have been enough to just fall asleep.

"It seems that if there are a lot of magicians around here, I can understand them with my senses, but I only have magic to a lesser extent than other magicians. I don't know any more."

"Really... thank you. So, the next real topic is....."

Collard stands by the word "destiny." There was a temptation to fight like a warrior, but Reurus tried not to mind.

"Does Mr. Collard know anything about bloodsucking?

…………

Collard is somehow silent when asked by Reurus. And I thought I saw Reurus' face in earnest, and I opened my eyes as if something had crossed my mind.

"I'm going to ask you about the bloodsucking species in this situation... hello..."

"Yes, Eliza is a bloodsucker."

Reurus admitted lightly. In the first place, we know the inhabitants of the abandoned city of Laval, and even the dwarves, including Calvin, know it.

There are some sides that trusted Collard would not do "bad things”, but I thought it would be unjust to know only Collard, even though the surrounding people know it.

― ― In the case of Collard, it seems to have been predicted originally.

"The Captain... no, of course he knows about this. In that case, there's nothing I can tell you... fuum, a blood sucker...?"

Collard was on a tour for a while, but eventually nodded as if he had split it.

What do you want to know about the bloodsucking species?

"I wonder if it's habit... there are a lot of circumstances, and it seems that Eliza doesn't really know herself..."

"That's... I don't really know. Speaking of what I know, I've read the literature about the bloodsucking species that once appeared...."

Kohlard says by tapping his fingers between his eyebrows to explore his memories.

"The bloodsucking species that once appeared... Has Harris broken out in this country?

When I first met Eliza, Natalia was talking about it. However, we do not know the details, and Reurus remains in doubt.

"Hmm. That was probably... thirty years ago. It seems to have caused so much damage that it could be transmitted to Japan. There are a few towns... and if you can tell, they've been damaged enough to wipe out Count Werg's territory."

"... disappearing is a metaphor, right?

"He's physically gone, right? Not everything seems to have blown to dust, but many buildings and humans have been sacrificed."

Collard narrows his eyes and strokes his jaw.

"I didn't tell you in detail where and what battles and how much damage there was. But there must have been quite a fight."

"... isn't it strange that you don't know the details even though you've suffered major damage?

If there has been so much damage, it would not be strange to have detailed information to bequeath to future generations. It is understandable if it is a scandal that has occurred within the country, but if it is a “disaster” caused by an enemy called a bloodsucking species, it seems good if the details are communicated to other countries.

Collard sighs small in response to such a revulsion question.

"I wish the Harist soldiers had defeated the bloodsucker... the Gregorians had defeated him."

"Ah... that's..."

Gregorians defeat powerful enemies that appear in the country, not the National Army or the Leadership. That would have caused problems in the first place.

"We still have detailed information on the scale of the damage, but it's vague how we defeated the bloodsucking species...."

"When the story spreads that the Gregorians have defeated something they couldn't defeat as soldiers in the country, it's true."

It's not a ruler of a country or territory, it's a story that seems to fall in favour of Gregorianism. You can only hide your eyebrows as a revulsion.

"Hmm. It seems that a few bishops at the time came forward, but if we could defeat the advanced monsters, we wouldn't be able to defeat them unless we had a few talented rumors. It must have been pretty tough."

"What's that again....."

It is a realuse that thinks in the corner of the head which is stronger than vanilla, but it is not as troublesome as vanilla. I don't want to think of any more troublesome monsters than firedragons shooting magic in the sky.

"Well, that's all I know. According to the literature, he had the ability to manipulate multiple attributes, magic, and others, but he didn't know how much it was true."

In closing, Reurus laughed with admiration.

"No, thank you for asking me something I don't know. Where does Mr. Collard get so much knowledge?

"When I was in King's Landing, I only gained knowledge if I had time. Knowledge is a property that does not take place. The more we save ourselves, the better."

With that in mind, Reurus clapped his chest at Collard. I could not ask about the habits of blood sucking species, but I was able to know about the disturbances that occurred once.

(Though there are only a few of them, the Gregorians have defeated them... which means they can kill them...)

Admittedly, Gregorians - especially bishops - are strong.

Even the priests under the bishop have many opponents who cannot be alarmed.

Collard opens his mouth with a serious expression as Reurus goes through his thoughts.

"Based on that history, I ask... is Miss Eliza okay?

It might have been natural to ask anyone who knew about the bloodsucking species. That's why Reurus answers with a bitter smile, without getting caught in particular.

"Yeah... if anything happens, I'll take responsibility."

"... is that so?"

It was Collard who tried to say something to Reurus, but after opening and closing his mouth several times, he eventually closed it. And he distracted himself and narrowed his eyes to look far away.

"... well, now we're going to focus on town building. Speaking of bloodsuckers, I can see Miss Eliza's sexual roots when I look at her“ normal "... if you're there, there won't be a problem."

"It would be helpful if you could say so."

"Hmm... anyway, if there's a problem, it's the town of Lemona. As of yesterday, the materials will arrive at the latest in a week, but what will happen to them...."

That was Collard murmuring to be afraid, but the murmuring would come in the wrong direction.

--A week has passed since Reurus and the others went to the town of Lemona, and the materials did not arrive even after the promised date.
