A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 405: Intrusion Part 2

In the town of Lemona, where there is little light at night, the only large building that stands out with brilliant lighting.

The building was in the heart of the town of Lemona, and Leurus, who had confirmed it in the distance, frowned.

"If this town is similar to ours, isn't it the Lord's Mansion?

"Yes, as you can imagine, Baron Barberie's mansion."

Gilba answered Reurus' question, but when she heard the answer, Reurus frowned.

"... I think it's obviously a trap to keep one spot bright."

"Anyway, let me think that there's something there, and it's possible that the real thing is somewhere else... well, if it's a trap, I'll just eat it and break it."

Gilba says so, but his expression is a little stiff. If the lord of this land is “suppressed," then his vigilance would be justified.

Are you aware of the intrusion of me and Mr. Gilba? Or does this town look like this at night?

I have visited the town of Lemona twice in the past, both during the day.

Today is the third time that I have seen the town of Lemona at night, regardless of the day. Therefore, I doubt whether this is normal.

As a matter of fact, only the lord, Baron Barberie, uses bright lights extensively - and so on.

But when he saw the obviously unusual town of Lemona, Leurus thought it was unlikely.

"Be careful not to overlook the lights. If you see it, please meditate on one eye and always get used to the darkness."

"... I understand."

Follow Zilba's words and be careful not to overlook the lights.

However, even though it is bright, there is a bonfire around the mansion, and the candles and other lights leak from the inside of the mansion, so that the darkness cannot be seen immediately.

"Let's go. I'll take the lead, so be careful not to make any noise."

That's how Gilba jumps off the earth wall to lead the way. Very little noise was heard on landing, and Gilba looked around and invited a revulsion.

(I wonder what makes sense to jump off a height of nearly five meters and barely make a sound... even now, Mr. Gilba.)

Zilba is followed by Reurus, but when compared to Zilba, a flashy landing sound is sounded. It was a noise that I didn't care about during the day, but in the town of Lemona at night, when I didn't see one child, it became loud enough to be heard around me.

If I had put on my armor and carried it to the Dragon Slash, I would have heard more flashy sounds. But such a thing is no consolation.

(... but there was no reaction.)

It was a realuse that made a sound, but the residents of the town never showed up. Though I was in a bit of a hurry, Jilba and others looked at the surroundings in a calm state.

It was Reurus and Gilba who began to move around the town of Lemona at night, but Gilba stopped occasionally while leading Reurus, putting her ears against the walls of the house to explore the sound. As he walked down the back alley avoiding the big street, Zilba breathed a little after searching for five and ten.

"There's no noise in the house. There is a slight breathing sound, so it is thought to be just sleeping....."

Reurus also moved with his ears clear, but could not pick up the sound.

It was quiet enough to believe that everything around it was ruined. Still, Zilba says there are residents in the house.

"I wonder if you can't hear a single snoring even if you go to bed... is it possible that you're actually awake and just don't move around in the house?

The house's inhabitants are awake and just breathe again and again without moving - a realuse that imagines what a horror movie is.

If the windows of the house are made of glass, you can peek into them, but there are few houses that use window glass in this world. As far as Reurus knows, it's like a noble mansion or a cathedral. Other than that, there are wooden windows.

Remembering the doubts, Leurus and Gilba continue through the city of Lemona. There's no intercourse with the residents, there's no talking, there's only the footsteps of Reurus that Zilba can't kill.

That's how it goes for a while. Zilba raised her left hand silently to urge her to stay still. The Reurus stopped immediately and shouted as he watched his surroundings so that only Gilba could hear him.

"What's wrong?

"Look at that with one eye."

That's what Gilba shows is Baron Barberie's mansion, which is the most eye-catching in the current town of Lemona. As he moved, he appeared to have come close to the center of town, but Reus closed his left eye as Jilba told him, sneaking up on his face from the shade.

(... just a bonfire?

Because of the surrounding buildings, they could not be seen from above the earthen walls surrounding the town of Lemona, but there were not even people around the campfire. Now that you've set up a campfire, it's no surprise that there are soldiers who rely on the lights to keep an eye on their surroundings, but as usual, they don't find a single child.

"... who manages that bonfire?

When Reurus asked, Gilba shook her head sideways with her face.

"It doesn't even look like magic equipment. Then someone would have installed it....."

There is a risk of fire if a campfire collapses due to strong winds, or if the fire powder flies. It was careless to say that there was no one to monitor it.

The campfire is set to surround the mansion at equal intervals, and there are about twenty of them. Since there are no soldiers patrolling as watchmen, I wonder why they are set up as Reurus.

"Even if you get so close... I'm in trouble."

Jilba muttered as if she had missed the point. Baron Barberie's mansion is still about 30 meters away, but nothing has changed in the mansion.

Reurus also looks at the Mansion, but just seeing the light doesn't make people move. I tried to explore the magic, but I could feel the discomfort drifting thinly over the town of Lemona.

"What do you want to do? Now that we know this town is crazy day and night, do you want to leave?

If the situation is so strange, we can get cooperation from the surrounding lords. Gilba nodded after she was slightly worried about Reurus asking.

"That's right... if there's no response so far, let's attack..."

Suddenly, Zilba cut the words. And I thought I'd put a sword-swallowing color in my eyes, and I squeezed my fist so hard that I could hear the sound.

"Ouch... don't stink..."

"... Mr. Gilba?

Jilba murmured with lethality as she threw out her hidden form. Reurus unintentionally calls Zilba's name, but watches Zilba react and immediately alerts the surroundings.

Then, in response to Zilba's lethargy, powerful magic appeared just to scratch out the uncomfortable feeling that drifted in the town.

"- Well, what do you mean?"

Then I heard a clear voice rolling the bell. Reus, whose voice sounded familiar, opened his eyes and attached his right hand to the pattern of the "neck hunting" sword.

"Is this destiny? Yeah, I'm sure it's fate."

The voice reaches in the wind. Still, Reurus, staring in the approximate direction, jumped almost at the same time as Gilba.

Reurus, who climbed the roof of a nearby private house, likewise discovered Rebecca, a person standing on the roof of the house.

A white corset dress that accentuates a well-shaped, swollen chest on a slightly blonde hair that stretches to the shoulders. The ruffle skirt and the long boots were the same as they used to be.

Rebecca says hello to Reurus when she thinks she's picking the hem of the frill skirt.

"Good evening, my prince. Nice night, huh?

――――

In a bow, Reus waved the "neck hunting" sword beside him. It was almost reflective, but the moment Rebecca moved, she shook her sword and threw a magical blade.

Rebecca gladly fished her cheeks, crushing the flying magical blade with her bare hands. However, the wound ran slightly on the right hand that touched the magical blade, spreading red blood.

"Suddenly it's terrible, yeah, terrible. But that's a nice place to be."

Rebecca smiles happily from the bottom of her heart as if she had licked her right hand, which is bleeding with her tongue. The smile was directed only at Reurus, and there were no shards that worried me about Gilba.

(Shit... why is he here... the main body? Or is it a magic doll?

It was a revulsion that whispered inside Rebecca that I encountered unexpectedly, but at the same time I doubted it. Rebecca, who fought before, was a magical doll, but I can't deny it this time.

"Fufu... compared to before, you've been practicing magic. Ah... nice..."

Rebecca began to ecstasy beyond her smile, and Reurus felt her cheeks pulling. As always, I feel angry when I'm the one who can't make sense of it, but I can't storm it without a Dragon Slash or Armor.

"It's been a long time, 'Tintin Castle'... did you pride yourself on showing yourself against me and Mr. Reurus?

Gilba holds her fist with even more intense lethality. Its eyes are so tingling that even the non-lethal revulsion makes my skin tingle.

It was a Reurus with a "neck hunting" sword, but I wonder if it would be good to fight flashy on this spot. Rebecca wants to get rid of it right now, but she's trespassing on the town of Lemona.

"Still a terrible killer, yes, a terrible killer. Besides, I don't want to“ eat monsters "or" rabies "on my own."

Rebecca smiles like that. Rather than question Rebecca's words, Reurus caught the light blinking at the edge of his vision.

Chi!

At the same time, he felt the magic, holding the "neck hunting" sword beside him. And the moment Reurus cut off the lightning strike, Gilba was swinging his fist straight to the side.

"Wind magic... novice?"

Jilba groans abominably as she smashes the blade of the flying wind with a fist while using "Nullify".

As Reurus and Gilba were alert, the two shadows joined Rebecca.

"Rebecca, what are you playing at?

"Rebecca, what are you playing at?

With a neutral voice tone, Reurus suddenly murmured when he saw the two who called Rebecca “equally.”

"Children...?

It was a small pair with a fox face who shot magic at Reurus and Gilba.
