A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 434: Grandfather or Enemy Part 1

A slaw standing next to the bedside where Eliza was lying. When she saw Eliza, she lost her words and even stopped thinking.

For Eliza, the “grandfather," a bloodsucker - that's Slaus, but it's no consolation if we look at the heterogeneity of the situation.

Even though I was attacked twice in the battle the other day when ordinary people would have been dead, I didn't feel the effects from the appearance.

It resembles Hector, and looks like him in his mid-twenties. For the first time during the day, Eliza thought unconsciously that she was not similar to herself or her parents.

"Ah! You!?

Still, Eliza returned to me and jumped off the bedside, distancing herself from Slaus. However, there is a limit to how large a room is, and it is only a short distance of five meters.

(Nothing can be a weapon... then magic!

With a stone wall on her back, Eliza ran around looking for something that might be a weapon, but she didn't leave anything that seemed to be a weapon at first glance, such as a sword or spear. There are chairs, vases, etc., but I don't want to wave as a weapon against a bloodsucking species that is more powerful than myself.

In the first place, Eliza is not a good fighter with her weapon swinging. Therefore, I concentrated my magic and tried to use lightning magic.

It is inefficient because there is no regular wand, and I will blew myself up and get injured, but I can't cry. Even if it's weak, it's fine if you blink.

Destroy the window in the room and escape while the mouse prevents it. Then use 'Enhancement' to escape with all your might.

Eliza thought it was all she could do.

But Eliza's resistance doesn't work for Slaus either. It was faster for Slaus to spin words than for Eliza to use her magic.

"Don't move."

"Kh...."

Eliza tried to cast a spell, but Slause's words deprived her of her liberty. It stops moving as if your body has become a stone.

When Eliza realized that she could use magic, but that she couldn't escape, she felt the blood on her face.

The opponent never died, whether Reurus mutilated them with Dragon Slash or Zilba destroyed their heart. Even if I shot lightning magic because my body couldn't move, I didn't think I could get rid of it.

You can't escape. I can't take it down. All Eliza could do to understand them was stare at Slaus.

"Hmm...."

Regardless of what Eliza thought, Slaus began to squeeze the distance with a small murmur. And as she walked right next to Eliza, she slightly broke her knee and stared into Eliza's face.

"If I look at it again in a bright place like this... um, I still see Katrine."

Slause, who had been looking at Eliza's face for some time, said such words as she had learned to do. The voice has a strong color of interest and, at least as it stands, does not feel hostile.

"Oh, I don't want to run away. No matter how hard you scratch your feet, even if you get out of this room, it's impossible to get out of this town. This town is under my control... so that the inhabitants can come and seize you."

"Brr...."

Eliza deepens her despair at Slause's words. Regardless of what Eliza looks like, Slause looks at Eliza's face as well as from head to toe and leans her neck small.

"Ten... a little older? I can't believe you... no, I didn't expect you to face me like this."

Slause spins words somewhere emotionally while slightly changing the tone. At the same time, Eliza realized that her restraint had been lifted, but she couldn't seem to escape, so she had a puzzling expression on the spot.

"What the hell are you talking about...."

"Mm? If you were a spirit, you would have been born as a grandson, and a child would have been born between you and me. Don't be surprised. What are you surprised?

This is a slaw that answers Eliza's questions with a fundamentally strange face, but as Eliza, I don't understand how she reacts.

"... well, here I am. Isn't it wonderful what's impossible?"

It was a slaw that had been watching Eliza for a while, but she murmured as if she was satisfied. And as she took her gaze away from Eliza, she sat down on the edge of the bed where Eliza had been sleeping.

…………

Eliza silently watched the movement of the slaw, but the slaw never turned to her eyes. He even looked up at the ceiling and unconscious Eliza.

(What are you thinking.....)

In response to Slaus' behavior, Eliza voiced her doubts in her heart.

As far as Slaus' words go, it is the town of Lemona that I am. Eliza thinks Slaus reacted strangely when she deliberately seized herself while resting at home in the town of Speranza.

(I grabbed it, because it's a strange expression. Even though I was being manipulated, I came here on my own feet....)

Eliza was ashamed of herself for not being able to resist Lok. But I can't be depressed right now.

There's a slaw in the middle of nowhere, where you can speak up.

"What are you going to do with me... no, what are you going to do with me?

There are no signs of harming yourself so far. Judging from Slaus' attitude, Eliza ran into doubt as her voice seemed to tremble.

I was able to leave a “trail” when I got out of my home room.

Then one day, Eliza believes that help will come, and she tries to extract any information from Slaus as she can from herself now.

But Slaus looked strange before answering Eliza's questions.

"How do you talk like that?

"... it's just like Grandma's."

"Well, Catherine said that way...."

Upon hearing Eliza's response, Slause turned her gaze back from the ceiling and jumped one eyebrow to look surprised, but nodded as soon as she was convinced.

"No, that's right, that's right. It must have been decades since I was beaten up. A granddaughter your size is born. Catherine is getting old... and that makes sense."

…………

Eliza was silent once again about her grandmother's name coming out of the bloodsucking species (Slause) in front of her.

I have questions about whether Slaus is really my grandfather and about the current situation where I am satisfied with my five bodies that were seized. Eliza opens her mouth as she creates a gap between her eyebrows due to these two questions.

"What exactly are you... doing here?

Eliza's priority was gathering information about the status quo rather than Katrine's relationship with Slaus.

I don't care about the relationship between the two - but even if I only heard Slaus' story, it's not true.

If Rebecca hadn't told me a little about Catherine's identity, she would have asked.

― ― Eliza couldn't deny that she didn't want to think deeply about Katrine.

"Purpose... purpose..."

Slaus narrowed his eyes whispering whether he didn't notice such a conflict with Eliza or didn't care about it in the first place.

"You don't know anything about asking questions like that."

"....."

What answered the question was something that Eliza didn't understand. At the same time, Eliza scratched herself cold and sweaty, wondering if she had made the wrong choice.

Sloth, who had been sitting on the bedside until then, slowly stood up and started walking toward Eliza.

"Hello, I thought. Or I thought so. But you....."

Although she had been observing Eliza until now, she turned her eyes to observe it again. Now she stared at Eliza with her eyes closed so that she could see the inside rather than the outside.

"You're certainly a bloodsucker... but you're also the only one who pulled my blood. No, is that what the man's power is doing?

"... that guy?

"The red-haired man who cut himself the other day... if he hadn't used 'Change', he would probably be a human being. No, isn't it funny to call this a human? I don't think I'm mistaken for a human being, but... you have a" contract "with this guy?

Eliza silently answered Slaus' question. The answer was the same, but Slaus never pointed it out.

"There it is. Let's make a deal."

"A deal...?

Eliza frowned at the unexpected words of Slaus. I didn't think it was necessary to make such a proposal as long as there was no deal or manipulation.

"That's right. That man and the sword are troublesome for me, but it's a shame to kill them. I'll kill the others, but if you drink our terms, we'll just miss him."

It was just a suggestion that Reurus and the others would never lose. However, as Eliza, she remembered that Slaus was moving smoothly even though she was fatally wounded, shaking her eyes.

(It's not like Reurus is going to lose... but maybe he can't win without losing...?

Eliza believes in Reurus - but her lack of familiarity inspires her vigilance.

Eliza herself is a bloodsucker, but the strength of the slaw in front of her is unparalleled.

A heart that believes in Reurus and a doubt that I don't think so. Eliza felt anxious about Slaus, who said she could kill anyone but Reus.

Slaus smiled a little and spinned words to see through Eliza's anxiety.

"- Put that man under your control. You're the only puppet."

Then I won't kill you.

That's why Slaus laughed.
