A Chronicle of Life in a Different World

Episode 443: "Wind Dust" Part 2

Battle of Natalia and Slaus over the town of Lemona.

It has evolved into a highly magical battle by Natalia, who freely manipulates wind magic, and Slaus, who manipulates various attribute magic and has a high regenerative ability.

It is not uncommon for distanced wizards to shoot each other at magic, as long as it is an attribute magician. It's never uncommon for people and monsters to shoot at class magic.

Each of them uses "Enhancement" and uses a sword or spear to cut it together while exercising attribute magic, which increases the difficulty, but this is also “unusual” and not unusual.

― ― The sight of people and monsters flying around the sky shooting magic at close range is just as rare as whether they can be seen once or twice in their lives.

"Wow...."

It was Chris who whispered when he saw Natalia and Slaus fighting. I don't pretend to interrupt the work of disabling the inhabitants of the town of Lemona, but I am also surprised to see that they are likely to take some of their consciousness.

Chris is a wind magician nicknamed "The Wind," and is skilled enough to be a bishop in Gregory, where there is also his sister Tina.

From Chris's eyes, Natalia's skill was remarkable.

That's not the simple reason that Natalia is flying in the sky.

If you want to fly, you can fly with Chris. With wind magic, you can fly like Natalia. Because if you have an excellent talent for wind magic and skill that can be called skill, it is a possible trick.

But Natalia is flying over the sky and exercising more magic. As a wind magician, Natalia's skill is nothing short of amazing.

If you're a skilled wind magician, it's not so hard to create enough air for people to fly. Whether it's low-level wind magic, you can “fly” people if you like. However, if you “keep flying” like Natalia, the difficulty jumps all at once.

It creates a wind that simply keeps lifting one person, while still maintaining the same posture as standing on the seemingly flat ground, and then diverts the magic of the slaughter, and at the end of the sentence, even diverts the magic to attack.

Chris can do one or two of them, but it would be too much to fight them all in parallel.

"... that's 'wind dust'"

Chris murmurs as he throws at the inhabitants of the town of Lemona, who are flying in a monotonous motion. While being careful not to fall off your head, you throw residents backwards with the intention of inflicting pain to the extent that they can't move immediately.

If the inhabitants stop moving with pain and shock, it's the dwarves' job. Though small, powerful dwarfs use "Enhancement" to carry two or three people together and leave town.

The ease with which the inhabitants of the town of Lemona are dealt with is also due to the fact that Natalia is holding down Slaus alone. Even though it is a bloodsucking species, it seems impossible to manipulate the inhabitants of nearly a thousand towns precisely while dealing with Natalia.

Rebecca can also do similar things using "charm," but in view of the current situation, Chris decided that Rebecca would gain military control due to the embarrassment of manipulation.

Both Rebecca and Slaus are the same in terms of their ability to manipulate others, but the former manipulates based on “feelings for Rebecca” and the latter is basically manipulated directly by themselves.

In the case of Rebecca, "charm" did not work at all for those who did not, but in the case of Slause, it also had the effect of hindering movement even for those who did not work. Some of them resist like Reurus or Rebecca, but Slaus will gain power in terms of versatility of abilities. It is also troublesome to be able to increase the combat power by "strengthening" the person who is manipulating it.

However, if someone can suppress the mouse alone as it is now, the effect will be greatly reduced. The town's inhabitants cannot be manipulated satisfactorily and have been deactivated from next to next. It is dangerous to divert consciousness while dealing with Natalia, so I have to concentrate.

A person who can cross each other alone with a powerful bloodsucking species.

A person who can disable a herd of “Handpieces” controlled by a blood sucker.

A person who can rapidly carry a disabled “token” to a place beyond the control of a bloodsucking species.

With all of them in place, we are able to move things forward, but how miraculous is the status quo?

― ― The strength and embarrassment of the slaw that has finally settled to such an extent that it can finally be called an advantage should be said to be out of standard.

…………

While silently disabling the inhabitants, Chris rethinks.

Slaus once appeared in the country of Harrist and went wild. Because decades have passed, only a small number of Gregorians were still alive at that time.

At that time, naturally, Chris was not born, but at that time he was engaged with Slaus and much information was shared by those who survived.

Chris, who is a bishop, has been given all of that information. When fighting powerful monsters, the chances of survival change dramatically without prior information.

Some Gregorians find joy in slipping through the dead lines, but few ignore information beyond the goal of defeating powerful monsters. The same is true of the bishop, Chris, when it comes to young people.

But as I watched Slaus fight Natalia over the sky, various questions arose in Chris's head. To be precise, there was something that didn't fall into my heart.

Although the information was scarce at the time, Slaus was a monster that the bishop needed to take down all five. It's hard enough to finally get rid of two bishops in exchange for their lives.

In disregard of the damage caused to the towns and inhabitants under Slaus, the bishop was killed without hesitation or alarm. Like Chris and the others this time, "Investigation of Mysterious Monsters” did not come for the purpose, but decided that there was definitely a battle against advanced monsters, and even if I put in a clever one among the bishops, the dead still appeared.

Both Chris and Tina count faster among bishops in terms of strength. Of course, there was a difference in cloud mud compared to hundreds of wizards, but it did not stand out as strong among the bishops.

In addition, although the accompanying Rebecca is also capably troublesome, there is no significant difference in strength from Chris and Tina.

Bishops like Reurus, Gilba, and Natalia were added to it, and the Dwarves were added to the two spirits to gain an advantage.

If we were to engage Slaus without the Reuses, we would not consider any surrounding damage, and whether Chris and Tina would finally see victory at the price of their lives. Chris saw that it would be half possible to put Rebecca's life behind her.

We will not be able to suppress the damage caused to the buildings in the town of Lemona and fight carefully to avoid causing as much damage as possible to the residents.

Chris had doubts about the current situation where he could call such a monster (Slause) an advantage.

Now that we're ready, the advantage of the status quo may well be taken for granted. But if we can defeat it alone, we can't be optimistic. When it comes to fighting power, it doesn't mean it's a big win compared to slaughtering Slaus once.

Monsters classified as advanced have “enough power to be classified”. It is a disaster in the name of a monster, and if you are a normal person, you will only be swallowed without your hands or feet.

It's no wonder one of the villages and one of the towns is destroyed, whether it's a higher or lower monster. We'll have to prepare a lot of skill to finish it, or we'll have to hit an army ready to make a lot of sacrifices.

In fact, the former Slause has accomplished it. If he had killed the town's inhabitants without pretending to be under his control, there would have been hundreds or thousands of damage. If we had killed all the inhabitants of the town of Lemona now, there would have been a lot of damage.

Even from Chris's eyes, Slause is definitely a monster classified as advanced, and even more so, it can't be reached in the middle of the advanced.

Chris is stepping into an area comparable to the Firedragon Vanille, the most famous and powerful monster in the Caldivian continent known to him. Such a powerful enemy.

And that's why Chris's doubts intensify at the same time.

Regardless of how much Natalia is fighting so many powerful enemies against each other, no, the current situation is advantageous.

Is it really an advantage - and how long can it last?

The battle between Natalia and Slaus shifts to shooting at a constant distance.

If the slaw tries to close the distance, Natalia leaves the distance, and if Natalia tries to close the distance, the slaw leaves the distance. Flies freely through the air without a shield, shooting magic at each other.

It was a sight that shocked at the power of both when the magicians in parallel saw it, and doubted whether it was a real event when those who could not use magic saw it.

Natalia is advantageous in calling the battle a step backwards, but it is not so different that it can be asserted that it can be pushed out as it is.

The magic released by Slaus does not capture Natalia. On the contrary, the magic released by Natalia has wounded Slaus many times, but it was also possible that the dominance could be reversed by the clap as long as the battle continued.

Against Natalia, who only exercises wind magic, Slaus uses flame magic, ice magic, wind magic and multiple attribute magic to cross.

However, if you emit a fireball, it will be scratched out by the wind, and if you emit an ice arrow, it will be diverted by the wind, and even if you emit a blade of wind, it will be offset. One attribute: wind magic If Natalia was ahead of her, she could not help but decide that she lacked an attacker as a slaw.

You might have won unilaterally by letting the magic amount say something and shooting intermediate or higher magic. However, it was very difficult to realize it in the present situation without Natalia giving her time to accumulate magic even if she tried to push it out of her power.

"Chi - 'Don't move'!

Therefore, slaughter also exercises its ability as a blood-sucking species. Stop Natalia's movements, fill the gap, and try to finish it with a single blow.

No matter how much Natalia is a good wizard, its physical toughness is beyond the bounds of man. There are limits to using Reinforcements, and if a bloodsucking species, Slaus, hits you with all his might, you can make a match with a single blow.

Slause stopped Natalia's movements, filled her distance and fisted without hesitation or alarm. I wasn't studying martial arts, so I shook my fist slightly, but at a bullet-like speed, I approached Natalia's face.

But Natalia avoids even that. The imminent fist was not shaken by fine dust, and it was like the wind, so he avoided Slause's fist and took a distance, but there was no stagnation in the movement.

"Oh, it's dangerous... fufu, I told you not to move, but do you think you can stop the wind?

Natalia, who avoided Slaus' fist, smiled as if she could afford it. The gesture even had the color of provocation, even though he had just avoided a fist that could have died instantly if he had a direct hit.

"I've never fought a bloodsucking species before, but as I've heard, you have a nasty 'protection'. It's bound by magic through words, and its ability to manipulate the opponent on top of it... but it also seems to have weaknesses."

While saying that, Natalia lightly lifted the cane in her right hand.

"Reurus... well, it's a lot strange, so let's put it on the side. It doesn't work on people with" protections "similar to" dolls, "and if they have great magic, it halves its effects... As far as the battle under their feet is concerned, even if they are perfectly manipulated, they move slowly and monotonously."

Natalia talks indifferently about what she feels. Slause heard it without affirmation or denial and looked at Natalia with a sharp eye.

"Magic... no, is it vitality? Perfect ability if you just put a lot of people under control to gain power. It's inconvenient to use the manipulator as a combat force as the ability to disperse battlefields drops at once.

As it stands, Natalia adds words. However, given the severity of the conditions for bringing things that are not words into the current state, I didn't think that there were so many holes. If you learn how to handle it, I think it's a "blessing" that can be transformed at once.

Even so, Natalia did not give up her heart, but lifted the edge of her mouth to deepen her smile.

"Besides, depriving your body of its liberty doesn't seem to prevent magic from activating. That's as good as any... like this."

Natalia, who had been trying to keep a certain distance until then, flew forward unexpectedly. And I thought that I had filled the distance instantly, and I slipped into Slaus' pocket with a fluent movement that I didn't think was being inhibited.

"Hmm!?

Natalia's cane stuck into Slaus' abdomen. Natalia, who had been engaged in shooting from a distance until then, showed a sharp thrust that looked at her cane as a spear.

Slow bluntness in the reaction of the slug that was pinpointed accurately with the dove tail, while simultaneously trying to sense the danger and fly backwards.

It's too late.

As soon as a short murmur reached Slaus' ear, a wind "bomb” burst at the base of the stabbed cane.

The blow opens a large wind hole in the torso and blows Slause's body like a doll swallowed by a typhoon.

A blow that would kill a skilled wizard rather than an ordinary man. Natalia stood still and watched the slaughter blown away as it was blown off and smashed into the ground.

The response will definitely make you feel special. In fact, Natalia has done it many times in the past. It is a literal Special Attack in Melee Combat that maximizes power with less magic.

Natalia thought that it would be as close as Reus or Gilba, such as those who survived the previous blow, and she smiled so bitterly that she couldn't tell it was unexpected.

But a bitter smile doesn't mean Natalia's eyes aren't distracted. The opponent is neither a Reurus with a big hole in his abdomen that seems to move smoothly, nor Gilba, who is a healing magician to Natalia's vigilant skill.

I couldn't help but be alarmed when I had a real monster against me, more than those two.

"Ah... ghh, haha... what a ruthless thing to do"

Slaus wakes up to support Natalia's vigilance. And when he laughed at his misery, the big hole in his abdomen gradually began to close.

"I heard you were a general, but as far as you can see, you can also engage in melee combat. And... wind... wind. I see, whether we stop moving or not, are we moving ourselves in the wind?"

Slause sees Natalia continue to move smoothly, but his voice tone contains a little praise.

As far as Natalia's movements are concerned, they may not be complete, but they are capable of binding their actions. However, Natalia was moving her flesh “with the wind” and was still taking action in battle.

I was able to guess how difficult it was because I was the same wizard, Slaus. Therefore, Slaus modifies his assessment of Natalia.

A gift for wind magic as good as spirits. A battle experience acquired by fighting as a general of the army with a great amount of magic to support that talent.

The ratings given by Slaus, who tasted them as hands-on experiences, are oddly consistent with Chris.

Higher among the Gregorian bishops - that is the skill with which the higher and lower monsters can seal even if "Slaus is not the opponent”.

"It's a big deal... no, it's nothing but an honest compliment. How dare you brush your arms so much while being human."

It was a slowly rising slaw with a compliment, but most of the wind holes in its abdomen were blocked. The wound is blocked even while the words are exchanged, and the wound disappears so beautifully that it is unlikely that there is a wound unless there is a torn clothing.

"Forget it, just listen to it. You're not going down to my gate? I promise not to take away your consciousness and manipulate it. I'll kill all the bishops here, but you can miss the others."

That's how Slaus looks up at Natalia. Natalia frowned slightly on the sudden solicitation, but smiled bitterly without leaving it for a few seconds.

"I've been through a lot in my life, but I've never heard a monster say that before... you know the answer, right?

"Whatever you know, I thought it would be a shame. What do you say?"

Natalia laughs bitterly at Slaus, asking over and over again.

"No. Besides, isn't it too soon for us to decide we're going to lose?

"Hmm... do you really think so?

Natalia and Slaus throw words at each other. Surrounded by the sound of Zilba and the inhabitants of the town of Lemona colliding, they don't look at you.

"You are a great wizard. Talent, magic, skill... I'll admit it's superb, no matter what. Admit your skill in disabling my tokens. Admit that it's difficult to deal with them while dealing with you."

Slaus speaks affirmatively to his disadvantage.

But that's all.

On top of that, I cut the words short and threw them away.

"I was surprised when I brought in a group of dwarves, but the fewer tokens I have, the more I can manipulate them. That way, it will take more time to reduce the amount of tokens...."

While saying so, Slaus stares at Natalia. Unlike Slaus, Natalia had never been wounded and her expression remained spared, but Slaus' eyes were narrowed to see through something.

"Our magic is abundant, but how about you? No matter how much skill you have, there are limits to how much magic you can use. Keep flying... it's impossible to keep using magic just like me. Admittedly, you are superior, but not beyond the bounds of man. There's a limit to buying time."

"Well... how about that?"

It was Natalia who had enough laughter for Slaus' words, but she didn't have enough room from the bottom of her heart.

Because it has more magic than humans as a bloodsucking species, and it is inferior to Slaus, who also gets magic from the inhabitants of the town of Lemona.

For example, it is a contrast between Natalia, who runs short distances, and Slaus, who runs long distances at considerable speed. Natalia has an advantage because she is running with all her might. However, it only gained an advantage by targeting a mouse with only a “pretty” speed.

Even if you keep fighting, Natalia will be the first to lose her breath.

How far, or how far, is it? Even if you have magic, how much focus do you have in a special environment where you risk your life to kill each other?

Time is an advantageous and disadvantageous factor for Natalia.

If Slaus could not fly and use wind magic, he could have blown away from the town of Lemona and made it impossible for the inhabitants to gain magic.

The “overall” situation was favorable, but the battle between Natalia and Slaus was disadvantageous over time - but to that extent Natalia did not sway.

Slause reads it from Natalia's attitude and slaps her tongue with her own heart.

Though I praised Natalia as a first-rate artisan, she was not only skilled but also strong in spirit. If you make a mistake, Natalia will be at a disadvantage all at once, but it doesn't seem like you're going to do anything bad until your magic ends.

That also meant that Natalia would definitely buy time until she ran out. Of course, we will not continue to fight Natalia until that moment when we are exhausted, but the situation will change if we prolong the fight as much as possible.

"Somewhat” rescuing the inhabitants of the town of Lemona left Natalia with another option. Slaus said he could manipulate it perfectly with fewer inhabitants, but Natalia and the others don't have to go out with it.

Even so, if we rescue the inhabitants of the town of Lemona, we can take the means to kill the rest of the inhabitants.

That way, Slaus will no longer have a chance to gain magic. No matter how seriously Slaus manipulated the inhabitants, there was a limit to their strength. Natalia continues to hold Slaus hostage, and Rebecca and the others cannot be stopped if they focus on killing rather than neutralizing the residents.

And if necessary, Natalia will choose that option. After a few minutes of fighting, Slaus determined that Natalia was not confused about the decision.

As for Natalia, the passage of time is advantageous and disadvantageous to Slaus.

(... there seems to be another "facedown bill”.)

Though Natalia was late to realize that she was surprised to see them coming in from the front, Slaus speculated that the force would be lying down outside the scene.

It is a monster that allows fights in the air other than Natalia - a winged dragon controlled by Rebecca.

A giant winged dragon that rivals the upper and lower levels of something that does not reach Slaus would be a powerful facedown bill. Although Slaus once ruled, it is very difficult to manipulate Rebecca from a state of complete control while engaging Natalia.

Though a few, we have guards around the town of Lemona, so you can notice them in advance even if the Winged Dragon raids. You won't be able to “snatch back” Eliza.

Alternatively, there was a possibility that it would be a means to escape when the slaughter could not be captured.

"Is it a good idea to spend too much time..."

The murmuring slaw decided that any further questions would be dangerous. Then kick the ground in order to poke Natalia's imagination and fly at an instant speed.

It took about half a second to get close to Natalia. To make it harder to grasp the distance from the boyfriend, he starts his fist at the shortest distance from just below Natalia.

A punch from below is a punch that you would not normally experience. But Natalia turned her back and instantly avoided it.

And as I predicted the evasion, Slause also hit the next hand.

He used lightning magic that he hadn't used before and launched a thunderbolt at Natalia. Compared to other class magic, it is a very “attack-oriented” class magic that is faster and more powerful than killing people.

You can paralyze your body without a direct hit and stop moving apart from Slaughter's ability - the blow won't reach Natalia.

The lightning strikes, which were moving in a straight line, unnaturally changed course and scattered to avoid Natalia.

"Who do you think my former colleagues are?

Natalia waved her cane in return for the thunderbolt, and the blade of the wind instantly flew through Slaus' arms.

Slaus retrieved his arms, which had been cut to mimic Natalia, by the wind and distanced them from Natalia while adhering to the wound.

Natalia looks sharply at such a mouse.

"The most powerful lightning magician in this country, Bernard of Tian Thunder... if you want to break my defenses, you can use lightning magic beyond him."

"Hmm... it's really embarrassing to have a lot of practical experience."

Slaus wraps his tongue around Natalia, who even missed the lightning strike. I even felt awe about how many “drawers” there were regarding the treatment of wind magic.

That's why the slaughter hit me even harder. Move the token by turning the empty thoughts of the inhabitants “reduced” by the hands of Zilba and others.

――――

The inhabitants of Slaus' manipulation mutually intruded into the one-on-one battle until then. Using the roof of a building that cannot fly in the sky as a scaffold, Natalia jumped to the point where she could reach it with a "reinforcement".

Of course, Slaus didn't think that Natalia could do anything about it. I wish Natalia had a little time to deal with the residents.

"No matter how many attribute magic you can use, you can't win with lower magic... let's admit it."

Once the skill difference thus far exists, the means for covering it are limited. Slaus immediately refined his magic to create a fireball, which in a matter of seconds was nearly two meters in size.

"But what about intermediate magic shootouts? Who will run out of magic first, me or you?

What Slause chose was an extremely simple push, something to be praised for.

A powerful range of attacks that Natalia cannot evade and cannot be intercepted. Slaus fired a turbid flame to further sharpen Natalia's magic, which he chose to fight to keep depleting even his magic.
