A Cutie Spoiled by Her Seven Uncles

The young Emperor and Ji Youzhi stepped into the Side Palace. Eunuch Ling stood by the door, the words "His Majesty has arrived!" stuck in his throat.

On the phoenix throne, the Empress Dowager, her hair not entirely dark, wore a large yellow Chrysanthemum. She was smiling sweetly at the Princess, who also had a large Chrysanthemum pinned to her topknot, and who was now plucking the petals off several other large Chrysanthemums one by one.

Seated below the phoenix throne was Prince Yi, who also wore a large Golden Chrysanthemum on his head. He watched the Princess with a benevolent and kind smile.

Eunuch Ling’s legs buckled in fright, and he collapsed to his knees with a THUD.

Empress Dowager Xiao and Prince Yi heard the noise and looked up.

Xiaosuisui saw Eunuch Ling kneeling on the ground and blinked at him in confusion. "Eh? Why did Eunuch Ling fall? Did he not watch his step?" she asked.

Eunuch Ling scrambled out of the inner hall, practically crawling and rolling, muttering to himself, My old eyes are playing tricks on me. I saw nothing, I saw nothing!

The young Emperor’s lips couldn’t help but twitch. He had no idea what had just transpired to make the Empress Dowager, Prince Yi, and even Xiaosuisui wear Chrysanthemums on their heads!

The young Emperor opened his mouth, wanting to ask for an explanation. However, upon hearing Ji Youzhi’s warning cough, a chill ran down his spine. He suddenly remembered Xiaosuisui’s persuasive abilities and decided to swallow his questions.

"Greetings, Imperial Mother!"

Prince Yi also hurriedly rose from his grand chair to salute the young Emperor.

The young Emperor waved his hand. "Prince Yi, dispense with the formalities. Please, be seated."

Feeling the young Emperor’s and Ji Youzhi’s gazes on him, Prince Yi’s face burned hotly. He could have died of shame! He secretly gritted his teeth and reached for the flower on his head. Yet, as always, his hand was mysteriously stopped midway.

The young Emperor struggled to suppress his laughter and turned to Xiaosuisui. "Suisui, what are you doing?"

Xiaosuisui, clutching several large Chrysanthemums, ran towards the young Emperor, her little hands outstretched, wanting to be picked up.

The young Emperor scooped her into his arms. "Who put this flower on you? It’s so ugly." Saying this, he reached out to remove it.

However, Xiaosuisui tilted her head, dodging his hand. She deftly pinned a Chrysanthemum beside the young Emperor’s Dragon Crown. "Godfather Emperor, the flowers are so pretty! Suisui will pin one on you too!"

The young Emperor was speechless.

Ji Youzhi’s eyes widened. His heart pounded with a sudden, inexplicable panic. Could it be that all the flowers adorning the Palace Maids, Eunuchs, the Empress Dowager, and Prince Yi in Cining Palace were Xiaosuisui’s handiwork?

"Seventh Uncle!"

After pinning the Chrysanthemum on the young Emperor, Xiaosuisui wriggled out of his arms and jumped down. She then scampered over to Ji Youzhi, her arms outstretched, asking to be held.

Ji Youzhi eyed the Chrysanthemums clutched in her hand and hesitated to pick her up. That is, until the young Emperor’s voice, laced with a subtle threat, reached his ears, "Ji Aiqing..." The last syllable was drawn out meaningfully.

Ji Youzhi quickly scooped Xiaosuisui into his arms. "Suisui," he began, trying to preempt her, "you’re not going to pin flowers on Seventh Uncle, are you?"

Xiaosuisui glanced at the two large Chrysanthemums in her hand, then shook her head and giggled. "I will! Two of them! One on each side, so pretty!"

Before he could react, she had deftly pinned one large Chrysanthemum to the left of his topknot and another to the right!

"HAHAHA..." Instantly, waves of laughter echoed through the hall.

The young Emperor sized up the two flowers on Ji Youzhi’s head and nodded. Not bad, quite symmetrical!

Xiaosuisui looked at the two flowers on her Seventh Uncle’s head, then at the single one on the young Emperor’s Dragon Crown. She tilted her head, thought for a moment, and said, "Godfather Emperor needs one more to be symmetrical!"
