As a bridge-builder between both sides, Gordon was happy to see a closer relationship develop, such as upgrading from an employment arrangement to an alliance in a certain sense.

Soon after, the sound of wheels rolling approached.

Royal attendants pushed several large dining carts, capable of holding an entire roast cow, which, after being permitted, entered the training ground.

After such rigorous endurance training, Gordon always needed to consume a massive amount of food, which was an important reason why he could never shed his bulky physique.

Just as he was enthusiastically preparing to pounce on the deliciously aromatic food, he suddenly paused.

The Crystal Princess and the Iron Dragon simultaneously looked toward the door.

A man was walking in slowly.

He stood tall and straight like a pine, his steps were steady and agile, without a crown symbolizing royal authority, nor adorned in a luxurious royal robe. Instead, he wore a suit of brilliantly polished iron armor, with a seemingly simple and unassuming longsword at his waist.

The whole person looked more like a general returning from the battlefield than a king seated on a throne.

The one who came, was the current king of Lotheren — O’Brien.

"Oh! It’s the honorable Your Majesty! Good day!"

Upon seeing who it was, Gordon immediately put on a familiar expression.

His massive body sidled up, even using his claw to directly fork a sizzling, greasy roast leg of meat from the dining cart, enthusiastically offering it to O’Brien.

"It’s dining time now, join us for some good food! Today’s cooking is quite nice!"

For the Iron Dragon’s casual conduct without any respect for hierarchy, King O’Brien was not angered; instead, he laughed heartily.

He was a monarch raised in the military, inherently disdaining those cumbersome protocols and insincere pleasantries.

Gordon’s straightforwardness and forthright nature, on the contrary, suited his taste very well.

Of course, this also had a lot to do with Gordon’s non-human nature in the Royal Court, holding no real power and possessing such a character.

If it were any other human minister, even knowing the king’s temperament well, they would not dare to be so presumptuous.

What they had to revere was not only the king himself but also the authority that he represented.

The king reached out and patted Gordon’s dragon arm, covered in hard scales, producing a dull sound.

"When is it not dining time for you?"

O’Brien said: "However, being able to eat is a blessing; it’s also the foundation of strong health. I really envy the good appetite of you Dragon Race."

Pausing for a moment, he changed his tone with a smile: "Your blood relatives have been doing quite a few things in the wilderness. Gordon, relay my regards to your kin."

"When that King of Molten Iron becomes a Legendary, you can invite him to the Royal Court as a guest."

"I will welcome his arrival and host a banquet."

Gordon subconsciously nodded and agreed: "No problem, leave it to me!"

However, just as he spoke, he suddenly shivered, feeling a chill across his body.

At the same time, the king’s gaze turned to the standing Crystal Princess.

"Alina."

His tone softened somewhat: "The situation in the Sel Wilderness has limited impact on the frontline of the war, but since you are interested in there, just continue with what you want to do."

Saying this, he gently sighed: "I actually hope more that you would spend time on something light and pleasing like appreciating flowers, reading books, or listening to operas."

"But I know, like me, you are concerned about the future of this land, so I will not restrain you."

Clearly, those resource transactions and cooperations between the Crystal Princess and the Ignas Dragon Group were well known to this king.

However, he had not interfered or rather, did not mind.

The Crystal Princess slightly lowered her gaze and softly said: "Thank you for understanding, brother."

The king nodded slightly and continued: "From now on, if you encounter similar matters, do not deliberately avoid me."

"I am willing to support my blood relatives in doing what she wants, as long as it ultimately does not harm the Lotheren Kingdom and its people, feel free to go ahead."

Upon hearing this, a smile of joy did not appear on the Crystal Princess’s face; instead, she slightly knitted her delicate brows, a hint of doubt flashing in her eyes.

Her royal brother’s indifference towards her cooperation in the wilderness with the Dragon Group was understandable.

But encouraging her to let loose? This attitude did not align with his previous preference for her staying away from matters of war.

She keenly raised her head, directly meeting O’Brien’s emerald-green eyes, softly asking: "Brother, has something significant happened at the front lines?"

O’Brien met his sister’s gaze and shook his head slightly.

He replied in a calm tone: "Nothing in particular, I just decided to lead by example and take command personally."

The momentum of the Anti-King Faction’s alliance forces was fierce, the Lotheren Kingdom camp was constantly losing ground on the frontline battlefield, having lost many strategic important positions and fertile territories over the years.

Spending his youthful years in the military, O’Brien could no longer endure merely sitting on a distant throne, watching reports of lost territories.

He wanted to emulate the ancestor Saint King who swept across the countries of yesteryear.

He wanted to personally don armor and wield arms, leading the loyal kingdom corps, to crush the rebellious lands!

The Crystal Princess was suddenly shocked, blurting out: "Brother! That’s too dangerous!"

O’Brien was a true Legendary Powerhouse, a strong existence honed through his own talent and countless battles, not a Legendary built on resources, and their side’s formation also had more than one Legendary.

However, the same was true for the enemy camp.

On the ever-changing battlefield, even a Legendary could possibly fall and die.

"My decision is made, the related matters have been arranged, and it will soon be officially announced nationwide."

The king’s voice was steady, filled with an unquestionable resolve.

"Eight hundred years ago, the ancestor Saint King could personally lead an army, flattening the Southern Countries, constantly breaking through himself in the war of blood and fire, achieving great deeds."

"Eight hundred years later, having inherited the ancestor’s will and throne, I can achieve the same!"

He paused, his gaze sweeping over his sister’s worried face and the somewhat dazed Iron Dragon beside them, continuing: "Rest assured, I would not do anything unprepared."

"It’s time for the world to once again witness the heritage of our Lotheren Kingdom passed down through eight hundred years."

"Those Legendary Guards, who have been dormant in the kingdom’s core for too long, should awaken from their long slumber."

"They will accompany me on the expedition, crushing any enemy that hinders the glory of Lotheren!"

The lifespan of Legendary Powerhouses is limited, however, a portion of the legendary lineage within the royal family undergoes secret techniques to slumber, only to be awakened at the most critical moments, fighting for the kingdom.
