A Dragon against the Whole World

Shire once fought to the death for him, charging Solrog with treating his widow and offspring well.

Unfortunately, Shire’s offspring, though superior to ordinary humans or Snakefolk, have only reached a leader-level status and did not inherit their father’s amazing talent.

At present among the many followers, only Gorging Demon Kalu and Elvira have the potential to step into the Legendary realm.

They are now level 18 and 19 respectively, with their life level advancement surpassing that of ordinary Giant Dragons. One has been stationed in the mineral-rich Northeast Region, while the other shoulders the responsibility of suppressing the Abyssal Rift, making them the strongest leaders under the Dragon Group.

The Snake Woman Sword Saint, whose original strength was above theirs, remains at level 17, having reached the limits of her potential.

Moreover, the Snake Woman Sword Saint, initially stationed at the Border Area, has been dispatched to the wilderness to assist Solrog in handling various affairs, essentially becoming his "secretary" to some extent.

Meanwhile, after listening to Galos describe the current situation of his family, Shire’s soul’s phantom noticeably paused for a moment.

Though souls do not need to breathe, he nonetheless took a deep breath and resolutely said, "I want to live on; I want to continue to exist."

This answer did not surprise Galos.

To give up ties and attachments still present in the world is an extremely difficult thing for those with strong emotions.

"Very well." Red Iron Dragon said in a deep voice, "Given this, I can offer you two specific choices."

"Firstly, I will provide rare materials to help you transform into a powerful undead creature. But you should be aware of the cost and side effects — you will gradually lose most of your emotions over time and begin to despise all living beings."

"Secondly, I know of a Legendary Artifact called the ’Hall of Heroes.’ Created with features mimicking the Heroic Domain, you can use it to transform into a Heroic Spirit to continue existing. However, this artifact is currently held by a Legendary Divine Envoy, and I am not entirely certain about the drawbacks of transforming into a Heroic Spirit."

Shire cannot accept a version of himself that would ultimately despise his wife and children, losing all warm memories.

He smiled and said, "Heroic Spirits... no matter what, it sounds infinitely better than undead."

"I’ve waited all these years, I don’t mind waiting a little longer."

He paused, his voice filled with unquestionable faith, continuing, "Besides, I believe that anything you wish to acquire will sooner or later fall into your hands, even Legendary beings cannot stop your will."

A period of time later.

Red Iron Dragon beat its wings and returned to the Border Area, back to Dragon Valley.

Aside from Metal Dragon Deborah, Red Copper Dragon Selena was also there, conversing with Deborah about something.

As the massive body of Red Iron Dragon descended thunderously, Selena’s gaze immediately shifted over to him.

Galos swept his gaze across, not finding Silver Dragon Adri, directly asking Red Copper Dragon, "Did Uncle Adri not come with you this time?"

Deborah shook her head slightly, answering for her mother.

"Father’s prime slumber is approaching, so he has returned to the Metal Dragon Domain to prepare for this sleep."

Upon hearing this, Red Iron Dragon showed a knowing smile and said, "Then, I will first congratulate Uncle Adri, wishing him success in breaking through to the Legendary Domain after this slumber."

During their last meeting, Adri was already at level 20.

With the Silver Dragon’s talent and the accumulation from a round of prime slumber, breaking through to the Legendary realm is almost certain.

By then, Adri will formally enter the ranks of the old Dragons.

"Your Uncle Adri, specifically remembered you before leaving."

Selena smiled and said, "He asked me to remind you that during this period, you must be extra cautious in dealing with affairs, try not to provoke enemies too difficult to handle. Once he wakes up, he will be able to back you up of course, before that, he still wants to spar with you again."

Galos had just recently ended his young adult slumber.

Following the normal growth trajectory of a Giant Dragon, he needs at least an adult slumber to reach closer to the stage of prime Dragons to achieve Legendary status, which usually takes a long time.

Therefore, Silver Dragon’s offer to back him up is reasonable.

Galos nodded, responding, "I am happy to accept and enjoy the protection from Metal Dragons."

"As for sparring, I have no problem with it."

The atmosphere in the valley was harmonious and relaxed.

After chatting for a while longer, Selena seemed to suddenly remember something important, her tone shifted sharply with a touch of excitement and coaxing, issuing an invitation to Red Iron Dragon.

"By the way, Galos! The competition held jointly by the five Dragon Domains is starting in a few years. It’s an excellent opportunity for young Giant Dragons to make a name for themselves, would you like to give it a try?"

She was unaware of the deal between Galos and Golden Dragon Ovis.

Without waiting for Galos to answer, Selena continued enthusiastically, "You might not know, but the rules of this contest are somewhat special — it’s said that the ultimate champion chosen through successive bouts only earns the ’qualification’ to challenge another Mysterious Giant Dragon."

"Doesn’t that sound ridiculous? It’s as if the champion is just a stepping stone."

"Once this news spread, the younger generation of various Dragon Domains were greatly stimulated, each one filled with righteous indignation, all wanting to know who that Giant Dragon is, how formidable they are, for the competition rules to be altered on their behalf."
