A Mid-level (Middle-aged) Office Worker’s Laid-Back Industrial Revolution in Another World
Episode 123, Day 8, Presentation after dinner. (The sincerity of mock warfare. )
Takeo and Alice had come as far as to reach the Elvis Mansion soon.
"Miss Alice, you've taken a little while.
"Yeah, how long will those four drink?
Takeo and Alice, as soon as they got over the castle gate, celebrated and muttered, "Dear Kitamizato, you did it!" He was celebrating.
"With that said, why were you celebrating Master Takeo so much?
"... isn't it because you didn't even think I'd draw?
Takeo, I knew what those four people were trying to say, but he says an answer that is not difficult.
Alice walks with a bitter smile when she hears the answer, "That's a sweet prospect," she said.
and arrived at Elvis Mansion.
Frederick was just there when I walked in the front door.
"Welcome back, Miss Alice, Master Takeo.
"I'm home, Frederick.
"Good day, Mr. Frederick. I'm back.
"Except for the two of you, we have finished dinner,
I'm in the guest room now.
"Really?
Okay, we'll grab dinner, too, and then we'll head to the guest room.
"I'm in awe.
and Alice and Takeo headed to the dining room.
------------------------
Alice knocks on the guest's door.
From the inside, I said, "Go ahead." He confirms that permission will go down, opens the door, and Alice and Takeo enter the room.
Inside were Grandpa Elvis and Smith and Frederick.
"Grandpa, I'm back.
"Mr. Elvis, we're back.
"Alice, Takeo, welcome back.
"Smith, we're back.
"Smith boy, we're back.
"Welcome back."
And Alice and Takeo also take their seats.
Frederick makes the tea, puts it in front of the two of us, and backs off a little bit from everyone.
"Mm-hmm. We both had a rough day.
"Yes."
and Alice replied, Takeo nodded.
"Takeo, you did it.
"Was it what you requested?
"Um, not more than demanding.
Grandpa Elvis nods.
"Huh? Was Master Takeo contracting anything?
"No? Nothing has been said, though.
Think for yourself what you're looking for somehow.
"What is it?
Alice looks like "tell me".
"... before you say what I think, Smith boy, you know what I mean?
"Huh?... um...
Seriously against your sister... don't you?
"... too bad. Then I guess that's an answer that keeps looking at the surface of the conversation.
Shall we read some more back?
Remember the conversation before Mr. Elvis suggested a mock fight between me and Miss Alice last night.
"Yes... indeed...
We were talking about Takeo's horseback riding training, and your sister said she wanted Takeo to make something go wrong.
"That's right. So, Mr. Elvis, think a little and suddenly bring up the story of a mock fight.
"Yes."
"So, what did Mr. Elvis say to me in this morning's conversation?
"Huh?... you said 'don't know'.
"Yeah. I was, at this point, ready.
These two conversations... they're crazy.
"What do you mean?
"Yesterday, I received a proposal for a mock fight based on the assumption that I would lose in the flow of the conversation.
So, if we're going to talk about the assumption of losing at this morning's stage, there's supposed to be encouragement coming for 'good luck,' or 'do it with your heart to die'.
"Neither sounds encouraging, does it?
Alice tells me with a grudge.
"... it should have been the right recognition at this morning's stage.
Alice, you're going against the lady, so you're losing a lot of color.
Yet I made a confirmation that 'you know'...
"Yeah. So, how did Master Takeo receive it?
Alice urges it to continue.
"Am I not on the wrong premise? I thought so.
"In other words?"
"He says he wants Lady Alice's defeat, not mine.
"" Huh!?
Smith and Alice look surprised at Grandpa Elvis.
"Hmm... roughly correct.
We didn't even have to lose Alice. We wanted her to associate us with the loss.
"Why? Grandpa.
Alice asks Grandpa Elvis, but Takeo starts to say.
"I wonder why, too? And before the mock war, I thought boggling, but that's when I came up with one.
The word the lady said before the proposal for a mock war: 'I want Master Takeo to fail'... is this the word? I think so.
"Huh?"
"Mm-hmm. Takeo, somehow, you know. Can you say that?
"Yes.
That children's book... the goblin battle two years ago, which is a turning point for Miss Alice.
Since then, hasn't Lady Alice done anything wrong?
"... yes, it is.
"So Mr. Elvis sees this as a good opportunity.
If I lose, I can make you fail as the conversation goes.
Alice, if the lady loses, I can turn down the source of the major injury that she hasn't failed in two years.
That whichever one loses will roll to the better.
"Hmm. Enough for an answer.
"Grandpa, why don't you say a word?
"You're not serious when I say it, are you?
"... you can get it out... right?
"... you can't do that? On the contrary, don't tell me you're going to take a ride with me.
"It's also cruel to let me bear that, isn't it?
"Takeo is listening to the battle with the platoon captains.
I thought I could do something about it.
"... well good. Because I could bring it into the draw as a result.
The request seems to have been met.
"Um, we both figured out what it felt like to lose.
"" Yes.
Takeo and Alice snorted.
