Chapter 581 - 578: I’ll Take You to a Good Place
Seth Quinn answered as they walked, "It’s actually not that far. It only takes ten or fifteen minutes to walk. It’s just that everyone’s so used to driving that they can’t be bothered."
Clara Grant pouted and muttered, "Your family’s estate is still huge, then. It takes ten or fifteen minutes just to walk from one courtyard to another."
Seth Quinn wrapped an arm around her waist and spun her around to face him.
Under the streetlight, she couldn’t quite make out his expression, but she could see the doting affection and deep love brimming in his sparkling eyes.
"I already told you, this is your home now, too." Seth Quinn lowered his head, pressing his forehead against hers, then nuzzled his nose against hers. Finally, tilting his head slightly, he slowly brought his lips closer to hers.
Just as their lips were about to touch, Clara Grant pushed him away. "Seth Quinn, what are you doing? Someone will see us."
’They were standing right outside the main house’s gate! What would she do if one of the servants saw them?’
Seth Quinn, however, was unfazed. "What’s wrong with kissing my own wife? Who cares if someone sees?"
With that, he leaned in for a kiss again.
Clara Grant’s face flushed as she pushed him back. "Not here. We’re still at the gate of the main house. If one of the staff sees, what if it gets back to... Mom and Dad..."
Seth Quinn stopped teasing her. He released her waist, took her hand instead, and they continued walking slowly.
After walking for a moment, he spoke again. "This estate is actually quite beautiful. It’s too late tonight, but I’ll give you a proper tour during the day when I have time."
Clara Grant raised an eyebrow at him. "Have you ever given any other women a tour of this estate?"
’Actually, she’d wanted to ask, "Have you ever shown Autumn Shelby around?" But she changed the question as it left her lips.’
"I have," Seth Quinn replied, glancing at her.
Clara Grant stopped walking, and her voice was tight. "Who?"
Seth Quinn answered with a perfectly straight face, "My mom and my older sister."
Clara Grant was speechless.
She suddenly burst out laughing, shooting him a playful glare. "You’re ridiculous!"
The words had barely left her mouth when Seth Quinn spun her around again, pulling her into his embrace. A roguish smile touched his lips. "You think that was ridiculous? Then what about this?"
As he spoke, he planted a kiss on her lips. Then his mouth moved to her neck, his voice full of mirth. "And this?"
The teasing of his lips made Clara Grant ticklish all over. She giggled, trying to squirm away, but she couldn’t escape his hold.
Seth Quinn’s lips traveled further down, nibbling at her exposed collarbone. One of his hands slipped under the hem of her shirt, giving a soft squeeze somewhere beneath the fabric. "And this?"
Then, he pressed himself lightly against her. Though he was still smiling, his voice had taken on a sexy rasp. "What about this?"
Clara Grant’s face was completely crimson. She quickly put a hand over his mouth as he tried to kiss her again, her voice thick with embarrassment. "Seth, you... stop messing around. We’re on a path... there are... there are lights..."
"Messing around? I’m completely serious." In the dim light, Seth Quinn thought her face looked even more enchantingly hazy. His heart hammered uncontrollably in his chest.
He grabbed her hand and led her toward a bamboo grove up ahead. "I’ll take you to a great spot."
She knew perfectly well that the "great spot" he mentioned probably wasn’t great in any wholesome sense of the word. But his voice seemed to hold some kind of magic, and Clara couldn’t help but follow him.
Inside the bamboo grove, the dense stalks blocked the light from the streetlamps, leaving only faint moonlight to filter through the gaps. It was quite dark and secluded.
