Seth Quinn’s face was devoid of expression. He gave her a faint nod. "Thank you for your concern, Miss Jennings."

Clara Grant had already opened the door. Without waiting for Faye Jennings to say anything more, Seth Quinn stepped into the room.

Since Clara had already called Holly Summers to let her know he was coming, he didn’t have to worry about intruding.

Holly Summers’s voice came from inside. "President Quinn."

Seth Quinn’s voice followed, and though it was still calm, it was much gentler than his tone with Faye Jennings just moments ago. "Mm, have a seat."

Worried that Holly Summers might feel awkward, Clara Grant turned to Faye Jennings, gave her a quick nod as a farewell, and was about to go inside when Faye Jennings stopped her.

"Clara!"

Clara Grant turned her head, looking at her in confusion. "Is there something else?"

Faye Jennings glanced inside the room, then frowned and lowered her voice. "Clara, President Quinn has only just recovered. How could you make him go through the trouble of escorting you here? I always thought you were quite independent. Why are you suddenly being so thoughtlessly dependent on President Quinn?

You have to understand that someone recovering from a major injury needs plenty of rest. If you keep pestering him to escort you personally, what will you do if he overexerts himself again?"

Clara Grant was not happy to hear this. Her voice turned a little cold as she said, "Excuse me, but let me correct you on one point. It wasn’t me pestering him to bring me here. It was him insisting on bringing me."

As she spoke, she raised an eyebrow and a smirk touched her lips. "What can I say? He’s just too clingy. Especially after he got hurt, he can’t stand to be away from me for even a moment. So, our relationship progressed by leaps and bounds during the days he was in the hospital. He was actually unhappy that I had to come to the film set to work because I couldn’t be with him."

After saying this, her expression turned cold again. "Besides, Seth Quinn is my man now. For you to show this... unusual level of concern, Senior Jennings, isn’t that a little inappropriate?"

She didn’t actually want to make things ugly with Faye Jennings, but what the woman had just said truly angered her.

’It’s fine that she likes Seth Quinn. There’s nothing wrong with liking someone. But at the end of the day, she’s not with him. For an outsider like her to come and lecture me, the "official wife," isn’t that a bit too presumptuous?’

Clara Grant’s words made Faye Jennings’s expression turn even uglier. She had just parted her lips to speak when Seth Quinn’s deep voice came from inside again. "Clara, why aren’t you coming in yet?"

Clara Grant called back, "Coming!"

After saying that, she looked at Faye Jennings again. "Senior Jennings, I know you like Seth Quinn, and I’ve always respected your feelings for him. But you know that Seth and I are already married,

so you don’t need to waste your efforts. Because no matter what, Seth and I will never get a divorce.

My advice to you is to stop focusing only on a man you can never be with. You should broaden your horizons. You might find that there are other men in the world better suited for you."

With that said, Clara Grant didn’t spare her another glance and turned to walk into the room. But whether it was intentional or not, she didn’t close the door completely.

A voice drifted faintly from the crack in the door. "I was just at the door chatting with Miss Jennings."

"Don’t waste time on unnecessary people." That was Seth Quinn’s voice.

Outside the door, Faye Jennings heard this, and the hands hanging at her sides couldn’t help but clench into fists.

"Oh, right. Why did you lie to that police officer earlier and say your right hand was injured?"
