Rowan Linden was completely unaware of Clara’s little scheme. He smiled naturally at Sarah. "Miss Shelby, hello."

Sarah Shelby, however, visibly stiffened when she heard his name. ’This Rowan Linden... he’s exactly my type. Before, I would have definitely pursued him, but now...’

Sarah Shelby smiled bitterly to herself. After a long moment, she finally returned his smile. "Dr. Linden, hello!"

After they parted ways with Rowan Linden, Clara Grant looked at Sarah Shelby with some concern and asked, "Sarah, are you okay?"

Sarah Shelby shook her head but didn’t say anything.

"If only I had introduced you two sooner, maybe you wouldn’t have to marry Ewan Stratton," Clara Grant said regretfully.

"Maybe this is just fate," Sarah Shelby said faintly, her gaze fixed on some distant point.

’Fate? The Sarah I knew never believed in fate!’ Clara suddenly felt that the Sarah before her was no longer the same person.

...

As soon as Clara Grant walked out of the hospital entrance, her tears started to fall uncontrollably. Inside, she hadn’t dared to cry, afraid of making Sarah even more upset. But now, she couldn’t hold them back any longer.

Crying, she called Seth Quinn and gave him her address, asking him to pick her up.

Seth Quinn had no idea what was going on. Hearing her cry, he was so scared his heart nearly leaped out of his chest, and he sped over in his car immediately.

When he arrived, Clara Grant was squatting by the roadside under the hot sun, hugging her knees and crying silently.

Seth Quinn scrambled out of the car, walked up to her, and asked urgently, "Clara, what’s wrong?"

Clara Grant looked up, tears streaming down her small face. Her eyes were red and swollen from crying, a sight that made Seth Quinn’s heart pound with fear.

"What happened? What’s wrong? Who’s in the hospital?"

But Clara Grant didn’t answer him. She just threw herself into his arms and choked out, "Seth, you have to... you have to save Sa-Sarah..."

Seth Quinn’s heart dropped. "Sarah Shelby? What happened to her?"

"She... she..." But Clara Grant was crying too hard to speak.

Seth Quinn scooped her up into his arms. "It’s too hot out here. Let’s get in the car. You can calm down and tell me slowly."

Seth Quinn drove for a good distance before Clara Grant finally calmed down and told him about Sarah having to marry the Stratton family’s eldest son.

Seth Quinn frowned slightly. He had heard a little about Ewan Stratton, the eldest son of the Stratton family, but only from before his car accident. After the accident, there was very little news about him.

However, he had seen the recent news about Ewan Stratton’s upcoming wedding. He just never expected the bride to be Sarah Shelby.

Seeing him frowning in deep thought, Clara Grant asked anxiously, "Have you thought of a way to stop Sarah from marrying him?"

Seth Quinn looked up at her. He had no intention of getting involved. Even though Sarah Shelby was Clara’s best friend, this marriage was ultimately a private affair between the Stratton and Shelby Families. ’And by what right could I possibly interfere?’

So, he shook his head at her, indicating that there was nothing he could do either.

Disappointment was written all over Clara Grant’s face. She turned to look out the window, watching the scenery flash by without a word for a long time.

Just when Seth Quinn thought she wouldn’t speak again, she turned her head to look at him and said, as if she had made a firm decision, "Seth, divorce me. And then marry Autumn Shelby."

She rushed the words out, afraid that if she didn’t say it all in one breath, she would change her mind.

With a harsh SCREECH of tires against the pavement, Seth Quinn slammed on the brakes. He stared at her intently, as if he hadn’t heard her correctly. "What did you just say?"
