Chapter 590 - 587: What Did She Do Wrong?
They had only been together that one time. After Autumn gave birth, her spirits remained low, so he didn’t dare cross any lines or force her.
But he was a normal man. Spending every day with the woman he loved, how could he not have desires?
When his urges were mild, he would endure them. When they grew strong, he would take a cold shower. If that still wasn’t enough, he would take care of it himself.
Sometimes, he even found himself pathetic. The woman he loved was right there beside him, yet he lived such an austere life.
But even so, he would rather suffer through the discomfort himself than force her in the slightest.
She had returned to the country over three months ago. They hadn’t seen each other in so long, and the intensity of his longing for her was matched only by the heat of his desire for her now!
Autumn Shelby didn’t reject Sierra Sutton’s kiss. Soon, she began to respond to him, and the desire deep inside her was stirred, ready to awaken.
She was a normal woman, after all. Seth Quinn wouldn’t touch her, leaving her lonely and miserable. But because she’d never known what it felt like to be truly loved, she could endure it.
However, ever since that one time with Sierra Sutton, having tasted the pleasures of intimacy, how could she possibly have the will to resist his kisses and touches now?
’She loved Seth Quinn, but he didn’t cherish her. So what was wrong with giving her body to another man?’
With that thought, Autumn Shelby reached out even more passionately, her hands going to the buttons of his shirt, to the buckle of his belt...
Encouraged by her passionate initiative, Sierra Sutton kissed her even more fervently. He held her as he backed up a few steps, and they both tumbled onto the large, soft sofa...
...
The next day, after Clara Grant and Seth Quinn had breakfast at the main residence, Seth drove her to the place she had arranged to meet with Rhys Ryston and River Sterling.
On the way, Seth Quinn asked her, "Do you want to have River come along? You know he’s been very anxious about this whole thing."
Clara Grant thought for a moment, then said, "Better not. Let me talk with Ryston first. Besides, if things don’t go smoothly and River Sterling is there, he might get anxious and say something reckless. Wouldn’t that just make it easier to screw things up?"
Seth Quinn nodded. "It’s your call. But I’m sure that with you handling it, things will go smoothly."
Clara Grant smiled. "You have that much faith in me?"
"Of course. You’re my wife. If I don’t trust you, who would I trust?" Seth Quinn said, holding out a hand and gesturing for her to move closer.
Clara Grant, thinking he had something important to say, leaned over. But Seth Quinn just turned his head and pecked her on the lips.
Not knowing whether to laugh or cry, she shot him a look and immediately sat up straight. "Hey, drive properly. I’d rather not die with you at the wheel."
Pleased with his successful kiss, Seth Quinn’s lips curved into a smile, but he didn’t say a word.
After a moment, Clara Grant remembered something and asked, "You said you had something to do today, too. What is it?"
Seth Quinn kept his eyes on the road, pausing for a moment before answering, "It’s nothing. Just a few things at the office I need to handle. I have to head over there. Oh, and when your meeting’s over, give me a call. I’ll come pick you up."
Clara Grant nodded. "Okay."
After dropping Clara Grant off at the arranged location, Seth Quinn drove away—not back to his company, but to a teahouse.
Ewan Stratton had agreed to meet him yesterday.
He decided not to tell Clara Grant about it yet, afraid of getting her hopes up only to disappoint her if they failed to reach an agreement.
...
Clara Grant’s meeting was set for a coffee shop. Rhys Ryston had booked it. Clara wasn’t a big fan of coffee, but she could tolerate it.
Besides, a coffee shop was a fitting place for a discussion—it was quiet.
Clara Grant had just found a seat when she saw a young woman standing at the entrance, looking around.
