Chapter 584 - 581: Just Not Very Convenient
Upstairs, Clara Grant followed Seth Quinn into the bedroom. Closing the door cut them off from the world downstairs, so naturally, she was oblivious to the servants’ chatter.
The bedroom was spacious, and the bed was massive—big enough, she figured, for her to roll over several times just to get from one side to the other.
Seeing her staring at the bed, Seth Quinn moved closer, a smile playing on his lips as he murmured, "So? Are you satisfied with the bed?"
"Mhm, very satisfied. I could roll all over it," Clara Grant replied without thinking.
Seth Quinn’s lips brushed against her ear. "It’s more than big enough for just you. The two of us could roll around on it together."
Clara Grant immediately took two steps back, shooting him an indignant glare. "Pervert! Who wants to roll around with you?"
With his hands in his pockets, Seth Quinn regarded her with a leisurely air and chuckled. "Who’s the pervert? I never said I’d be on top of you while we rolled."
"You..."
’Fine, she had to admit her mind was in the gutter on this one.’
Clara Grant’s face flushed uncontrollably again. She said in a huff, "I’m not talking to you anymore. Where are my clothes? I’m going to take a shower."
Seth Quinn reined in his smile and pointed to the wardrobe. "Some are in there. The rest are in the walk-in closet."
Clara Grant went over to the wardrobe to get her clothes. After finding what she needed, she was hugging them on her way to the bathroom when Seth Quinn’s lazy drawl sounded from behind her. "Honey, want to go together?"
’In your dreams!’
Without a backward glance, Clara Grant scurried into the bathroom and bolted the door behind her.
’He could turn into a wolf at any moment these days. She couldn’t let her guard down.’
After her shower, she emerged wearing a set of modest pajamas.
Seth Quinn was sitting in a chair, head bowed over his phone. He looked up at her attire, his brow furrowing. "Who bought you those pajamas?" he asked.
"I did, of course." Clara Grant thought his question was odd and glanced down at herself. "Is something wrong with them?"
"Nothing," Seth Quinn said as he stood up. "Just a bit... inconvenient."
With that, he grabbed his own clothes and went to take a shower, leaving a wide-eyed, blushing Clara Grant in his wake.
’Inconvenient? What could he possibly mean by that? Inconvenient for him to get handsy, that’s what!’
’Still, he just had his round. He wouldn’t keep pestering her now, would he?’
Clara Grant climbed into the massive bed, sinking comfortably into the sheets. Seeing it was still early, she picked up her phone and started scrolling.
Tomorrow was Saturday, and it was time to make good on her promise to River Sterling to discuss a collaboration with Ryston. She needed to set up a meeting.
She sent a message to Ryston asking if she was free tomorrow. To her surprise, Ryston replied quickly, saying she was available and they could meet.
They settled on a time and place, exchanged a few more pleasantries, and then Ryston said she had to get back to something. Clara said she’d see her tomorrow, and they ended the chat.
Just as she sent her last message, Seth Quinn walked out of the bathroom. She heard the door open and glanced over, only to instantly avert her gaze.
’Seth Quinn had come out wearing nothing but a bath towel!’
Seth Quinn noticed her discomfort. He raised an eyebrow but didn’t call her out on it, simply asking, "What are you looking at?"
"Ah? Oh, I was just setting up a meeting with Ryston for tomorrow," Clara Grant said, striving to keep her voice even as her head sank lower and lower.
"Oh, go ahead then. Perfect, actually. I’m busy tomorrow too," Seth Quinn said, his hands moving to undo his towel.
Clara Grant held her phone up to block her view, but his body was still moving in her peripherals. ’Why is this man so huge?’ she grumbled internally. ’A phone can’t even block him!’
