Chapter 772 - 769: You’re Not Talking Bad About Me, Are You?
After thinking it over for a few days, Clara Grant decided not to keep the baby for now. Filming for You Are My Eternal Love was about to begin, and her role as the female lead was very demanding.
In the latter half of the year, she also had to prepare for her graduation play and would be incredibly busy. She was afraid she wouldn’t be able to handle it, and she was also afraid the baby would suffer along with her.
So, she called the hospital and scheduled an appointment for the procedure.
Even though she had made her decision, she didn’t feel the relief of having solved a difficult problem. On the contrary, from the moment she scheduled the procedure, her heart grew heavier. Her baby, her first baby... she only had a few short days left with it.
"Clara, what are you thinking about?" Suddenly, a hand gently ruffled her hair.
Clara Grant looked up and saw Seth Quinn, realizing she had zoned out again.
"Oh, it’s nothing. I was just wondering... didn’t you say you had something to talk to me about? Why did you bring me here?"
At that moment, it was just the two of them in the private room at The Tuberose.
Clara Grant hadn’t been here in a long time, and it suddenly felt a bit surreal.
"Yes..." Just as Seth Quinn was about to speak, the door to the private room was pushed open, and in walked Linden Jennings and a very pregnant Poppy Vance.
"Brother Jennings, Poppy," Clara Grant quickly stood up. Poppy was also in a hurry to get to Clara’s side, and Linden Jennings, saying "Slowly, slowly," held her arm tightly to support her.
Clara Grant walked over quickly and helped Poppy to the sofa. Only then did Linden Jennings let out a sigh of relief.
"Clara, Brother Quinn, I thought we were the first ones here. I didn’t expect you to already be here," Poppy Vance said with a smile.
"We just got here too," Clara Grant said with a smile, glancing at Linden Jennings, who had gone to sit with Seth Quinn. "I’m surprised Brother Jennings brought you out when you’re this pregnant."
"Oh, please. I had to beg him for ages before he agreed. Otherwise, there’s no way he’d be this easygoing and let me come out to have fun. Especially not at night.
Sigh. Clara, let me tell you, this whole pregnancy thing is no walk in the park. I swear, after this one, I am never, ever having another."
Poppy Vance grumbled with a look of utter misery.
"Is it really that bad? You look like you’re doing great. To be honest, I’d actually love to experience what it’s like to be pregnant and have a baby, just like you," Clara Grant said, feeling a pang of sadness as she thought of the child she was about to lose.
Poppy Vance clearly misunderstood her. She glanced at Seth Quinn, then leaned close to Clara Grant and whispered, "Clara, have you had Brother Quinn get checked out? Maybe the problem is on his end."
Startled, Clara Grant quickly glanced over at Seth Quinn before hastily making a "shushing" gesture at Poppy Vance.
Poppy Vance secretly gave her an "OK" sign. "Don’t worry, I won’t say anything out of line in front of him. And my brother won’t ask any awkward questions either.
Guys have fragile egos when it comes to this stuff, I get it. But you have to talk to him! You have to communicate. You two need to work on it together to solve the problem sooner..."
"What are you two whispering about over there?" Perhaps because they were being so secretive, Seth Quinn glanced at them and asked.
"Oh, we weren’t saying anything, Brother Quinn," Poppy Vance said, her expression perfectly calm.
"Really?" Seth Quinn was skeptical. After all, they had been stealing glances at him while they were talking. "You’re not secretly bad-mouthing me, are you?"
