With that, Rowan Linden turned and left with a cryptic smile, not waiting for Seth Quinn to react.

Clara Grant only stopped what she was doing and straightened up after hearing the door click shut.

Before she could even exhale, Seth Quinn pulled her back into his arms. He pressed his forehead against hers, his warm breath carrying his distinct masculine scent across her face as he returned to the topic Rowan Linden had interrupted.

"Ignore him. You meant it when you promised me just now, right?"

As he spoke, he casually rubbed his lower body against hers.

Clara Grant was both amused and exasperated that he was still so fixated on it. Remembering Rowan Linden’s parting words, she had been about to take back her promise. But she was afraid he wouldn’t let it go right here and now. ’And what if someone else walks in on us?’

So, she squirmed, trying to break free. "Alright, alright... this sort of thing... let’s... let’s wait until we get home..."

Seth Quinn was already struggling to restrain himself, and her squirming only added fuel to the fire, making the heat inside him burn even hotter.

His gaze locked onto hers as he panted, his voice low. "Clara, I can’t take it anymore. Why don’t we just do it here...?"

Before he could finish, Clara Grant firmly cut him off. "No! I already said we’ll wait until we’re home! You—if you keep this up, I’m taking back my promise!"

Her face was bright red as she glared at him, a mix of embarrassment and annoyance. ’She really didn’t understand. When men get this sort of thing on their minds, are they really this incapable of restraint?’

Seeing her firm stance, Seth Quinn still wouldn’t give up. "I’ll go lock the door. No one can get in. It’s a VIP room, it’s very secure..."

"No! I said no, and I mean it!" Clara Grant hissed, lowering her voice as if afraid someone might be eavesdropping.

’This is a hospital, after all. Even if they locked the door, what if someone knocked? Were they supposed to wait until they were finished to open it? After all that time, anyone would be able to guess what they’d been doing, right?’

’How could she ever face anyone again?!’

Seth Quinn’s face was a mask of frustration. Just as he was about to say something else, there was a knock on the door. Clara Grant jolted, sharply pulling her hand from his grasp, shoving him away, and turning her back to him.

’See? See? Someone showed up immediately! Thank god I didn’t give in!’

He sat down in a chair, then his thin lips parted. "Come in," he said, his voice cold and hard.

The words had barely left his mouth when Chase Childs pushed the door open and walked in. "President Quinn, the discharge papers have been processed. We can leave now."

When he received no response from Seth Quinn, Chase looked over more carefully, confused. ’Uh, why does President Quinn look a little... off? And the glare he’s giving me is ice-cold!’

’I got the discharge papers done so quickly. Shouldn’t President Quinn be praising my efficiency? So why...’

Seth Quinn saw the dazed look on his face and shifted his gaze slightly before grunting, "Mm," to show he’d heard.

Chase Childs froze for a second. ’President Quinn’s voice sounds off, too. Why is it so hoarse? He couldn’t have caught a cold right after his injury healed, could he?’

’That wouldn’t be good at all!’
