A Night of Desire

Seth Quinn probably understood that she wouldn’t give up so easily. After a moment’s thought, he nodded. "Alright, I’ll set up a meeting for you. But even if you see him, it doesn’t guarantee things will turn around, so don’t get your hopes up too high."

"I understand, but Sarah is my best friend. I have to do everything I can to protect her."

After they finished talking about that, Clara Grant remembered how she had misunderstood Seth Quinn. She looked at him, a little embarrassed. "I... I misunderstood you. I’m sorry."

’He was considering my feelings in all of this, yet I still misunderstood him. I even yelled at him just now. I was being so unreasonable.’

But Seth Quinn’s face tightened. He took a step forward, moving closer to her, and his voice was tinged with seriousness as he said, "Is a simple ’I’m sorry’ enough?"

Seeing his incredibly serious expression, Clara Grant’s heart began to pound. She was just about to ask, ’Then what do you want?’ but before she could speak, Seth Quinn leaned in, wrapped an arm around her waist, and a smile touched his lips.

"When you get angry, it makes my body and heart tense up. You can’t just brush that off with a simple ’I’m sorry,’ can you?"

"Then-then what do you want?" With their bodies pressed together and Seth Quinn’s forehead resting against hers, his warm breath fanning across her face, Clara Grant asked, her face flushing red.

"What do I want? You need to show me with some real action. Give me a kiss. Only then will I be able to feel your sincerity."

Seth Quinn had expected her to blush and refuse. After all, even though they’d been together for so long, she still got shy every time they did anything intimate.

But to his surprise, the moment the words left his mouth, Clara Grant boldly kissed him on the lips.

Seth Quinn was momentarily stunned but recovered in an instant. Before Clara Grant could pull away, he captured her lips, preventing her escape.

’Since this beauty offered a kiss of her own free will, how could he possibly let her go so easily?’

Their lips were entwined for a long while before the passionate kiss finally ended.

Perhaps because the kiss had been too deep and passionate, Clara Grant’s legs felt weak, and she was a little unsteady.

So Seth Quinn simply swept her up into his arms, walked to the sofa, and sat down, letting Clara Grant nestle more comfortably in his embrace.

The two of them just leaned against each other quietly. After a long moment, Clara Grant’s breathing finally returned to normal.

Suddenly, she thought of Autumn Shelby again. She looked up at Seth Quinn and asked, "You said earlier that you found out Autumn Shelby was with a man in the U.S.A?"

Seth Quinn glanced at her, his gaze dropping as he toyed with a lock of her hair. "What’s wrong?"

"So you suspect she was cheating on you a long time ago?"

"It’s not a matter of suspecting or not. We broke off our engagement a long time ago. When she actually got together with that man has nothing to do with me anymore.

If she doesn’t bother us again, I won’t pursue it. But if she tries to do anything to hurt you, I won’t let her off so easily."

But Clara Grant had a different thought. "Autumn Shelby with another man? I just can’t see it. Or rather, how could she possibly cheat on you and be with another man?

After all, anyone can see how much she loves you—the kind of love that’s bone-deep. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have schemed so hard to drive me away from you."

Even though she knew Autumn Shelby’s feelings were one-sided and that Seth Quinn had no such feelings for her, Clara’s tone was still tinged with jealousy as she spoke that last sentence.
