Liang Wenwan’s lips curved faintly. "You think you’re worthy?"

Contemptuous and mocking.

As the words fell, Liang Wenrou’s face turned white in a flash.

"Sister, what do you mean by that?" Liang Wenrou looked utterly innocent and wounded, as if she’d just been bullied.

Liang Wenwan walked forward at an unhurried pace, lips faintly curved. "We’re here."

The restroom was right in front of them.

Liang Wenrou bit her lip and gave her a suspicious look, but that calm, beautiful face showed not the slightest ripple. Had she found something out?

How could that be possible?

"Little sister, aren’t you going in? If you hold it till you lose control, the one who’s embarrassed won’t just be you."

Liang Wenwan’s words made Liang Wenrou’s face turn ugly. Her fists clenched tight as she steadied her breathing, then she lowered her eyes and smiled. "Thank you for the reminder, Sister."

With that, she turned her head and went in.

Watching her disappear from sight, Liang Wenwan’s gaze grew obscure and unreadable.

The little girl did have one redeeming point: she could bend and stretch when needed, especially in front of this sister who drove her mad with jealousy. It was just a pity...

Whatever she thought of made Liang Wenwan lower her eyes and smile, a soundless smile filled with chill indifference and mockery.

When Liang Wenrou came out of the restroom, her expression was as sweet and pure as ever, as if the sisters’ earlier unpleasantness had never happened. Walking along, she said in a naive tone, "Sister, I’ve actually envied you since I was little."

Envied that even without your parents’ love, you can still live so recklessly.

Liang Wenwan’s lips hooked. "You don’t just envy me, you’re very jealous too, right? You can’t wait to take my place. It’s just a pity that in the end, you’re only the Liang Family’s pure and adorable Second Miss, nothing more."

Only pure and adorable, nothing more.

She actually hoped this little sister could stay pure and adorable forever, but how could she possibly control the complexity of a human heart?

But when people’s greed swells, they naturally have to pay the price, and they must bear the consequences that follow.

Hopefully you can... handle it.

The smile at Liang Wenwan’s lips deepened, her steps unhurried, her posture elegant and dignified.

Liang Wenrou gave her a deep look, the unease in her heart growing stronger. She felt that maybe she’d made a mistake, that it was still not too late to turn back now, but she couldn’t accept that. Since childhood, this older sister had pressed down on her heart like a great mountain. Along the way, she’d already lost too much. Though she knew she was sinking deeper and deeper, she could only watch helplessly, powerless to stop it.

She secretly clenched her palms tighter, straightened her back, and looked straight ahead.

Knowing it was wrong, yet still making the same mistake again and again. In everything she was inferior to her sister—except in one thing she was sure of: her sister could never surpass her.

Just then, the elevator doors opened and an exceptionally handsome young man stepped out.

Seeing Liang Wenwan, he froze for a second, but quickly came back to himself and greeted her with a smile. "Hello, Cousin-in-law."

The smile on the youth’s face was brighter and warmer than sunlight, making people feel cozy inside, unable to help but smile back.

A trace of shyness and awkwardness flashed across Liang Wenwan’s face, though it quickly smoothed out. She smiled gently. "You’re here."

Yan Ke’s gaze slid unobtrusively over the girl standing beside Liang Wenwan. He didn’t miss the flash of delight in her eyes the moment she saw him, and one eyebrow arched slightly.

Wasn’t this the girl he’d run into on the plane? What a coincidence—she actually had a close relationship with his future cousin-in-law.

Only, was this really a coincidence, or...

Yan Ke walked over with a smile, his gaze landing on Liang Wenrou. Liang Wenrou’s heart gave a jolt, and she quietly turned her head away.

"You look a bit familiar, Sister. Haven’t we met somewhere before?" Yan Ke leaned in toward Liang Wenrou with a grin, as if he didn’t see the girl’s shyness, his lively eyes blinking.

Liang Wenwan’s gaze flickered. Did the two of them know each other?

Thinking of something, she smiled faintly and, as if unintentionally, stepped in front of Yan Ke, blocking Liang Wenrou behind her. Smiling, she said, "Young Master, don’t you think that pickup line is a little outdated? My sister’s thin-skinned; she can’t stand your teasing."

Yan Ke’s lips curved with a meaningful smile. He stepped back half a pace and straightened up. "So she’s Cousin-in-law’s younger sister. If I was rude just now, please forgive me, Sister."

Though the youth spoke apologetically, his demeanor clearly held not a shred of apology. Anger stirred in Liang Wenrou’s heart. This bratty young master—was he treating her like a performing monkey? None of it showed on her face, though. She only gave a shy smile. "You’re too polite, Young Master."

Inwardly, she was speculating about his identity. Judging from her sister’s attitude toward him, this young man’s background clearly wasn’t simple. The thought of getting closer and closer to that man made her heart tremble with excitement. She took a deep breath, forcing down the agitation in her chest.
