Chapter 2024 - 484: Born Human, the Abyss of Despair (Part 3)
"Yaya...."
Lorde’s face changed as well; he was extremely relieved earlier that she had escaped.
Everyone present looked at the girl in confusion, wondering who this person was.
The man in black carefully moved Yun Ya closer to Ji Lanyi, saying respectfully, "Master, I did not let you down."
Ji Lanyi smiled at Yun Ya, raised her hand, and tucked the stray strand of hair behind her ear, speaking gently, "Mother doted on you for nothing; how could you leave her?"
Yun Ya turned her head away, missing Ji Lanyi’s hand.
Yun Ya sneered, "If you have the guts, just kill me."
"You’re my daughter; how could I kill you?" Ji Lanyi smiled.
Yun Miao clenched his fists, looking at Yun Ya worriedly: "Yaya."
Meeting Yun Miao’s gaze, Yun Ya’s eyes reddened instantly: "Brother...."
After two years, she finally saw Miaomiao, but under such circumstances. Ji Lanyi, are you trying to drive me to death?
Yun Miao closed his eyes; the word "brother" pierced his heart.
Yun Ya called him brother for the first time, yet he couldn’t protect her, allowing her to suffer harm once again.
He hated his own helplessness deeply at that moment.
Mingyue whispered, "Master, don’t worry, she won’t harm Miss. I’ll find the right opportunity to rescue her."
This moment was not the time to joke about Miss’s life.
"Move aside, or you can’t be sure about the Princess’s fate." Jiang Mi’er sneered.
Yun Miao pressed his lips together, looked deeply at Yun Ya, and waved his hand: "Let them go."
Sangque said urgently, "You can’t let her go."
Lorde and Yun Miao simultaneously looked at him, startling Sangque under their gaze.
Lin Tao looked at Yun Ya, finally surrendering with a wave of his hand: "Let them pass."
With things having reached this point, there’s no other choice since Yun Ya was in her hands. Yun Ya was Ji Lanyi’s biggest leverage; a perfect opportunity was found only to be abandoned like this. The rage in Lin Tao’s eyes almost exploded.
But looking at Yun Ya’s pale face, he still chose to compromise.
Under everyone’s watchful eyes, Ji Lanyi’s crew began to leave.
"Hold on." The girl’s clear voice resounded firmly.
Everyone looked at her.
The man in black stopped in his tracks, looking cautiously at the girl in his arms.
Ji Lanyi squinted her eyes.
Yun Ya suddenly turned to look at her, with a gaze so clear and profound that it made Ji Lanyi’s heart tighten involuntarily.
"It was you who gave me life; this body and flesh came from your nurture."
Yun Ya said as she walked toward her step by step. The man in black’s blade grazed Yun Ya’s neck, but Yun Ya remained unfazed, a fine bloodline erupting at once on her fair and delicate neck.
Terrified, the man in black quickly withdrew his dagger; a moment later, the girl’s neck would have been slit by the blade.
"But it’s been eighteen years; what I owed you has long been repaid, isn’t it enough?" The girl’s clear voice carried a shattered sense of bewilderment and desolation, causing those who heard it to ache.
"Miaomiao and I are filled with grief, our bodies and minds tormented severely. If this is the cost of being human, I accept, but why even now won’t you let me go? I just want a peaceful life, an ordinary life with Miaomiao and Brother Yan. Why... why do you come to disturb me?"
Her cheeks flushed in agitation, tears of blood welled up in her eyes, appearing so bitter and sad.
Though many didn’t understand what she was saying, watching her made them feel uncomfortable.
Ji Lanyi calmly looked at her.
"I’ve had enough of the torment; do you have to force me to die to be satisfied?" Yun Ya shouted, every word crying blood, resonating powerfully.
"Fine, I give it back to you—all of this body and flesh." Yun Ya drew a delicate scalpel, and amid everyone’s shocked gaze, she raised it and slashed her arm fiercely, blood gushing, the gory scene sending chills down their spines.
The girl’s face pale, yet she showed no visible pain; her expression was clearly a bit stunned.
"No...." Yun Miao’s pupils contracted; he wanted to rush over but was held back by Mingyue, who whispered, "Something’s off."
Why doesn’t she feel pain?
Yun Ya’s heart was saddened to the utmost; at this point, she couldn’t think any further. She looked up at the woman before her; in her eyes remained calm, as if nothing in this world could move her. It was this seemingly indifferent calmness that Yun Ya despised to the core.
"Not enough?" The girl’s mouth curled into a slanted smile, her pale face revealing a bizarrely charming smile, raising the knife again, cutting into her arm. Her eyes remained fixed on the woman in front of her, her gaze obstinate and frantic.
