Yun Ya’s nose suddenly felt a bit sour.

The cold despair in the dream was vivid, yet the warmth in front of her was like spring; her body was soft and comforting. Overwhelmed with joy, she turned around and threw herself into his arms.

"Brother Yan."

His familiar scent filled her nose, and the call in her ear was the one from her dream; everything was so real.

She hugged him tightly, her fingers almost clawing his body to the point of drawing blood, laughing and crying simultaneously.

Yan Song let her cry, silently accompanying her. Sometimes comfort was useless; being her support during her tears, he was always there no matter the circumstances.

Thinking of something, Yun Ya suddenly pushed him away, her face pale, "I... I killed her. She cursed me in the dream... Everything has come true. I killed my own mother...."

Her look of despair and fear made Yan Song’s heart wrench with pain. He went to embrace her, but Yun Ya screamed and pushed him away, like a hypersensitive child rejecting anyone’s approach.

"It’s not your fault; don’t take on all the guilt yourself," Yan Song forcibly embraced her.

Yun Ya struggled frantically, hitting Yan Song’s left arm. His body suddenly went stiff, sweat beading on his forehead, but Yun Ya didn’t notice. All of a sudden, she grabbed Yan Song’s arm and bit down hard.

Yan Song let out a muffled groan, closed his eyes, and pulled Yun Ya into his embrace.

Yun Ya lay against his chest, her mouth stained with blood, trembling as large tears rolled down her cheeks.

"She isn’t dead; you don’t need to blame yourself," Yan Song whispered in her ear.

Yun Ya refused to believe, knowing the knife was poisoned; no one could make an antidote. No one knew human organs better than her, knowing from which angle and direction life could fade away.

Under such dire circumstances, how could Ji Lanyi possibly survive?

Yan Song held her tightly, preventing her from going into another frenzy. Yun Ya gradually calmed down in his arms, yet Yan Song’s heart was overwhelmed with unendurable pain.

"Brother Yan, hold me tight...." she softly said.

Yan Song held her tightly, his chin rubbing against her disheveled long hair, his strength so intense it nearly crushed her into his being.

"I feel so cold...." she murmured.

"Miaomiao has grown up and no longer needs me. There is nothing in this world for me to hold on to. I’m really so tired...."

Yan Song viciously bit into her neck: "Say that again?"

Yun Ya’s body trembled violently, a slight smile playing at her lips: "I almost died, and it was you who pulled me back from Hell."

Yan Song sighed deeply, his large warm hand gently patting her back, "Don’t say such foolish things again."

"Even if I venture through Heaven and Hell, don’t ever think you can shake me off." The man’s fierce yet domineering voice reached her ears.

In a daze, a smile appeared on Yun Ya’s lips.

"Then don’t lose me again in the future."

"Otherwise, you’ll never find me again...."

Yun Ya murmured these words and fell into a coma again. Yan Song silently watched her sleeping face, sighed deeply, placed her back on the bed, and as soon as he let go, he felt a sharp pain in his arm. Pulling up his sleeve, he saw a bleeding bite mark on his arm.

The wave of pain had barely subsided when another wave hit. Yan Song took a deep breath, looked at Yun Ya with a bitter smile, stood up, and silently went out to find medicine to stop the bleeding.

"Let me." Zhang Huasheng snatched the bandage from his hand. His arm was bulging with terrifying veins, a blood-stained bite mark on it that made one’s scalp tingle just to look at it.

"That girl bit you?" Zhang Huasheng first stopped the bleeding on the wound, sprinkled some medicinal powder, and the man’s muffled groan reached his ears. His fist clenched, and upon looking up, the man had his eyebrows tightly knit, sweat dripping from his forehead, his pale lips tightly bitten, yet he remained silent.

"The girl isn’t here; you don’t have to hold it in. If it hurts, yell out."

Yan Song turned his head to the side.

"Both of you are just as stubborn," Zhang Huasheng mumbled. His finger accidentally touched the skin outside the wound, and he felt the man’s body suddenly stiffen. Zhang Huasheng looked at him questioningly.

He lowered his head again and saw the abnormal bulging veins on his arm outside the bite mark, looking as if blood vessels might burst, as if suppressing immense pain.

Zhang Huasheng felt something was off, reached out and touched it, clearly feeling the man’s body sway, the muscles under his fingers instantly tensed.
