Chapter 2102 - 501: My Mind Is Made Up (Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars) Part 2
Ruan Songxi did not refuse it.
In the end, Yellow Hair accompanied Ruan Songxi into the wild woods, while Jiang Xiang and Zhu Qing stood guard around the area.
Watching Ruan Songxi’s tall figure walk away without a backward glance, Liang Wenwan clenched her palms tightly, feeling a bit uneasy inside.
Hopefully, nothing will go wrong.

Hospital.
Yun Ya was utterly exhausted and slept for a long time before waking up.
When she awoke, it was already noon the next day. She stared blankly at the ceiling, her mind completely blank from extreme exhaustion.
Just as Yun Ya was about to get up, she felt someone holding her hand. The numbness spread from her palm to her arm. Lowering her eyes, she saw a man sleeping beside the bed. Even in sleep, he held her hand tightly to his chest, as if holding the most precious treasure in the world.
The man had a chiselled and handsome face. Despite being asleep, his long, sword-like eyebrows were furrowed tightly, as if dreaming of something unpleasant.
Yun Ya felt a pang of heartache and gently rubbed his brow with her hand.
"Yun Ya...."
Yan Song suddenly shouted, abruptly sitting up. His face still bore traces of unresolved fear. Seeing Yun Ya, he suddenly pulled her into his arms, "Yun Ya...." His large hand rubbed her back, his trembling voice revealing his inner fear and unease.
Everything happened so unexpectedly. Yun Ya lay blankly in his arms, feeling his fear. She couldn’t help but smile, softly patting his back with her slender, tender hand.
"Brother Yan, I’m here."
Closing his eyes, Yan Song held her tightly, inhaling the familiar fragrance from her body. His anxious heart gradually calmed down, but the bloodiness in his dream was so vivid that recalling even a vague scene made him shiver all over...
A long silence fell over the room.
The pale light in the sky appeared cold, piercing through the clouds and casting over them, creating a beautiful but surreal scene.
A silent stillness.
Yun Ya sighed, "Brother Yan, what did you dream about?"
Yan Song shook his head, holding her tightly, "Yun Ya, I’m sorry. I won’t make you angry again. Please, don’t ignore me anymore, okay?"
Such a humble tone, gone was the former pride and arrogance.
Yun Ya’s eyes moistened, but her eyes were smiling. She looked out the window at the sky, "How could I bear to be angry with you? I’m just angry at myself...."
"Don’t say that." Realizing his tone was a bit harsh, Yan Song softened and said gently, "Yun Ya, from now on, I’ll seek your consent for everything I do. I won’t let you feel sad again."
He realized he hadn’t thought it through.
Zhuang Xiyue had learned to be smart. Hearing voices inside, she knew Yun Ya was awake and first knocked on the door, gently asking, "Is Yun Ya awake?"
The words were directed at Yan Song.
Yun Ya quickly nudged him, but Yan Song didn’t let go, still holding her tightly. Yun Ya said helplessly, "Aunt Zhuang is still outside."
Reluctantly, Yan Song released her and got up slowly. Yun Ya tidied her hair, saying, "Aunt Zhuang, come in."
Zhuang Xiyue entered with a lunchbox, first giving Yan Song a quick glare before turning to Yun Ya with a big, bright smile, a swift change of expression that left one in awe.
"Yun Ya, you’re finally awake. Are you feeling any discomfort? Are you thirsty or hungry?" Zhuang Xiyue looked at her with concern.
Yun Ya felt a bit helpless at Zhuang Xiyue’s enthusiasm, "Aunt Zhuang, I’m fine."
Recalling something, she suddenly asked, "What about Auntie? How is she doing now?"
She was quite confident about her own surgery, but there was always that fear of unforeseen events...
Zhuang Xiyue smiled warmly, "Your aunt woke up this morning. Doctor Zhou has already seen her, and she’s now out of danger. After a few more days of rest, she can be discharged from the hospital."
After speaking, she grasped Yun Ya’s hand tightly, deep gratitude on her gentle and beautiful face.
"Yun Ya, we owe it all to you this time. You’re truly a lifesaver for us...."
Yun Ya quickly stopped her, "Aunt Zhuang, you’re exaggerating. This is just my duty. Even if another doctor were performing the surgery, the outcome would be the same. Let’s just say Auntie has great luck."
Yun Ya didn’t take credit for herself but graciously attributed the success to the patient’s fortune, earning even more affection from Zhuang Xiyue. She patted Yun Ya’s hand, sighing, "Aunt Zhuang has eyes, she can see and has a heart that can feel. What karma did I accumulate in my past life for heaven to send you to me in this one?" Turning to glare at Yan Song, she continued, "And you, brat, marrying Yun Ya is the greatest blessing of your life. If you dare upset her again, see if I don’t skin you alive."
Yan Song curled his lips, his gaze sweeping over Yun Ya’s delicate and pale face, "I know."
Yun Ya lowered her head shyly, tugging at Zhuang Xiyue’s sleeve, "Aunt Zhuang, don’t blame Brother Yan. It was my fault...."
"Look at Yun Ya, still willing to take the blame for you. Such a good wife is hard to find, even by lantern light...." And so began her lecture, eager to turn Yan Song into the model boyfriend of filial piety...
Yun Ya and Yan Song exchanged a glance and found a hint of helplessness in each other’s eyes.
Yan Song poured a cup of water and handed it to her, which Zhuang Xiyue took, "At least you know your manners...."
Seeing the laughter in Yan Song’s eyes, she realized something and jokingly scolded, "You child...."
After talking for a while, Zhuang Xiyue recalled the lunchbox she had neglected and asked Yun Ya, "Yun Ya, are you hungry?"
After hours of intense surgery and collapsing right after getting off the operating table, she’d been asleep for over twenty hours without eating. Yun Ya was indeed hungry and nodded obediently.
Zhuang Xiyue smiled, "I made porridge myself; it’s your favorite carp porridge. Hurry and drink it while it’s hot."
At that moment, Yan Song’s phone rang. He went to the balcony to take the call. Yun Ya, while drinking porridge, glanced at Yan Song’s tall and sturdy back. Though it was a bit far and he was facing away from her, Yun Ya couldn’t make out his expression.
Yet, for some reason, unease suddenly gripped her heart, a feeling she had always been accurate with.
Seeing her a bit distracted, Zhuang Xiyue smiled and asked, "Yun Ya, what’s wrong? Does it not taste good?"
Yun Ya snapped back to reality and smiled, shaking her head, "No, it tastes great."
After Yun Ya finished a bowl of porridge, Zhuang Xiyue offered to serve her more, but Yun Ya quickly said, "I’m full."
Yun Ya got out of bed, and Zhuang Xiyue quickly put down the bowl to help her, "Need to use the restroom? I’ll go with you."
Yun Ya said helplessly, "I want to go see Auntie."
Zhuang Xiyue furrowed her brow, "Doctor Zhou already checked on her this morning; everything’s fine. You, on the other hand, need to stay in bed and rest. You’re in poor health; how can Aunt Zhuang feel assured?"
Listening to Zhuang Xiyue’s chatter, Yun Ya didn’t find it annoying. Instead, she felt an immense warmth within and said with a smile, "Aunt Zhuang, I know my body well; it’s no big deal. But I won’t feel at ease until I see Auntie with my own eyes. Please accompany me to visit her."
Zhuang Xiyue, seeing how attentive she was to her sister, even disregarding her own illness, felt even more moved and fond of her.
She nodded repeatedly, "Okay, Aunt Zhuang will go with you."
