Abe the Wizard

Chapter 17: The Great Sword of Rehearsal

Although he had been upgraded to a Level 5 internship knight, Abel's spirit was poor. Master Bentham saw him and hurried him to rest. The Marshall knight led Abel out of the blacksmith's shop and went outside.

Walking out of the blacksmith's shop, he saw the horseman's carriage flying from afar. Abel couldn't help but look down at the knight's boots, full of dirt, more than twenty minutes from the castle to the blacksmith's carriage, and the horseman couldn't wait to get there quickly.

You know, the Marshall Knight is a sealed nobleman, and it's embarrassing to run around in his own territory, but the Marshall Knight did it for Abel.

Abel looked at the happy Marshall Knight, a particularly good looking knight, and was happy about his upgrade. He said softly, “Uncle Marshall, thank you for everything you've done for me. ”

“Kids want to do so much.” The Marshall knight patted Abel's head and pulled Abel onto the carriage, which ran towards the castle in the sun.

“Ding, ding, ding.” The next morning Abel had arrived early in the blacksmith's shop and had asked Master Bentham for a separate operating room, and the master knew that this was Abel's first major sword fight and did not want to be disturbed, so he agreed.

Abel didn't want anyone to see how he built the sword, because he was going to use technologies that he'd never seen anybody use here, carbon seepage and quenching techniques that he'd learned from Earth Science.

The rougher the sword, the more it is, the higher the quality of the rough blank. But the formed sword, if you use carburizing to add some carbon to the blade, can increase the hardness of the sword.

Abel put the shaped sword into a crucible. This crucible is specially burned. It can be placed in a large sword. It was ready a few days ago. Cover the crucible with charcoal, beans, and soil, and then seal the crucible and put it in the furnace for heating.

Charcoal and beans are naturally used for carburizing, and the soil end is still a dispersant. The benefit of this carburizing technology is that the sword gets a very uniform and stable carburization, with a high carbon potential, which is fairly efficient and effective. In fact, this technology is still used on the modern planet, the so-called "brass steel method”.

And when it comes to quenching, the world's quenching also has the technology to throw swords into cold water for rapid cooling, but it also leads to a huge increase in waste rates. Because of rapid thermal expansion and cooling from hot iron to cold water, the internal stress in the metal is unbalanced in quenching, causing the sword to crack in cold water, sometimes even after quenching, after removal.

The quenching technique used by Abel this time is a relatively special quenching technique, it is a new method of ancient sword practice in the science program. When the long sword is removed from the crucible, it is first rubbing back and forth on the wood carbon, so that the wood carbon can fully contact the sword body, and then it is put into the quenching bucket. In this bucket, half is water, the other half is animal oil, and it is burned to nearly a thousand degrees of sword, first into animal oil, a lot of heat is first absorbed by the oil, but the heat transfer rate of animal oil is not fast, the sword will not be affected by stress, then into cold water, the temperature of this time is not as high, the sword in cold water for the second quenching fire.

When the sword was cold, he took the sword out of the quenching barrel. Abel bounced the sword surface with his hand and the sound was crisp. Although the quality of the sword was not known, the sword was already made.

Ask your servant to clean up everything in the operation room. Abel doesn't want people to see how these things relate. The world wants to invent and create is a very dangerous thing.

“Garden, can you get me someone to do a sword handle?” Abel found Garden, who was busy, somewhat embarrassed to ask.

Swords are made of iron, wood, horns, or some other harder material, and Abel has not learned how to carve a sword handle, so he has to come to Gaden for help.

“Is this your first sword?” Garden took the sword from Abel and took a closer look at it, and said in an excited, somewhat dull voice, “Is this the Great Sword? Oh, my God, this is the Bailey Sword. ”

Garden has been here with Master Bentham for five years and can only forge 60 exercises, a hundred of which have always been Garden's dream.

“Young Master Abel, you are a genius.” Garden praised wholeheartedly, then gently touched the sword body with his hands, seemed to find something, with fingers gently bouncing the back of the sword, ears against the back of the sword listening carefully to the echoes of the sword.

“It's impossible. How could this have happened? ”

This sword performs hundreds of exercises, but the body of the sword is much harder than ordinary hundreds of exercises. Master Bentham makes one hundred exercises each month. These hundreds of exercises are one of the sources of Harry Castle's wealth. Gaden not only watches the master practice swords, but also maintains them, so he is much more familiar with the hundreds of exercises swords than others.

Abel's sword has a very peculiar surface, which is very different from the Bailey sword that the master usually makes. Garden can't tell the difference, but experience tells him that the sword is more than the other Bailey swords.

To verify this, Gaden chopped the sword into a block of wood to be used as fuel, almost without effort, and the sword slipped across the cream like a hot knife, silently dividing the block into two segments.

“How did you make this sword?” Garden is in a bit of a hurry to find out about this sword.

“I just forged under your guidance, and Master Bentham helped me when I had difficulty.” Abel explained.

Garden seems to have misunderstood the sword so well because Master Bentham helped Abel complete the final part, and he had to make a secret determination to learn from the master and forge such a weapon himself in the future.

“I have a very good collection of horns that I have come to use as a handlebar for my sword, and I will put them on for you at night and I will put them on your sheath. Can this sword stay with me?” Garden's idea is very simple, this sword is very strange to forge, and it would be very beneficial for him to stay an evening and study it.

Garden stayed up all night, fitted the sword with the best horns, and found a crocodile skin sheath, then watched the strange sword carefully against the oil lamp.

Garden came to the blacksmith's shop with the sword in the morning, and overnight observation surprised him. If it wasn't for fear of breaking Abel's sword, he wanted to cut it off with the sword and a hundred practice swords in the master's warehouse.

“Garden, what's wrong with you?” Master Bentham couldn't help but wonder how this honest man, Gaden, had not slept all night.

“Master, this sword you made for Abel, I can't see, I've been thinking about it all night.” After touching his head, Garden looked at Master Bentham with some embarrassment and wondered if he was too stupid.

Master Bentham took over the sword and pulled out the sword and said, "This is the sword Abel forged yesterday. I was just instructing him the day before yesterday on how to work out a hundred rough exercises, and I will teach you when you reach 80 bottlenecks. ”

“Is this the sword that Abel forged?” Master Bentham is also somewhat surprised that his experience is much higher than that of Garden. The technology contained in this sword is arguably a family mystery, a mystery that improves the hardness and sharpness of the weapon. Although the master is very enthusiastic, he knows that the mystery of spying on a family is to form a death revenge with that family, whether it belongs to the Harry family or the Bennett family.

No wonder yesterday Abel asked for a separate operating room. It turns out Abel was using family secrets to refine the sword, which makes sense of Abel's behavior.

Master Bentham warned Garden not to ask Abel about it, as if it had never happened.
