Chapter 132: The Angry Bull
In one of the poor districts of the city, in one of the alleys, Ethar walked with his massive build until he reached an old house with a small courtyard. In the middle of this courtyard, an extremely old woman sat, her body ravaged by time!
"Is that you, you little troublemaker?" The old woman noticed Ethar’s approaching footsteps and turned toward him with difficulty!
"Yes, it’s me, you living corpse." Ethar approached with a smile and gently sat beside the old woman.
"Sharp-tongued as usual." The old woman sighed, looked away from him, and looked toward the sky again.
"Well, it seems luck is smiling upon you, old woman, and you’ll get to rest from my tongue for a while." Ethar did not mind the old woman’s words and continued smiling gently at her!
"What! Have you finally decided to commit suicide so you can spare me the trouble of always having to listen to your annoying voice!" The old woman laughed, pretending to be surprised and mocking Ethar.
"Why would I decide to commit suicide, you living fossil? If anyone should do that, it would be you. I don’t even remember anyone your age still being alive in the City of Light." Several veins appeared on Ethar’s face as he said angrily.
"Oh yes, I have lived through three queens so far." The old woman smiled and said proudly.
"Damn it, whatever." Ethar waved his hand and looked toward the old woman with a calm expression. "Are you still insisting on not leaving this place? The place I’ll move you to is bigger and more luxurious, and there are many maids who will take care of you. You won’t have to worry about food or drink anymore."
"No, I won’t leave this place even in death. I lived here with him for five hundred years, and we could always have moved to the best places in the city, but we preferred to stay here because this is where we first met, and the place where we were together. After he passed away, I spent a full hundred years waiting for the day of my death so I could join him and be with him again." The old woman smiled and spoke in a calm voice as she recalled the best days of her life, then grabbed a cane from beside her, threw it at Ethar, and shouted angrily at him. "And now you’re telling me that you want to move me from here just for better food and service? Shame on you, you idiot!"
"Alright, alright, calm down and don’t get angry. Anger is bad for your health at your age. I’m sorry." Ethar caught the cane and returned it to her, trying to calm her down gently.
Hmph!
The old woman took the cane from him and returned to looking toward the sky. After finally calming down, she began speaking again in a calm voice.
"In my early days with him, we had a large, strong bull. He was stupid, but he was calm and gentle, and he kept us company. He gave life flavor and color." She then glanced at Ethar from the corner of her eye. "Unlike someone."
Tsk!
Ethar slapped his fist into his palm as though he had found the greatest idea in the world. "That’s it! Should I bring you a bull to keep you company like the one you had? And don’t worry, I’ll have someone take care of its food and everything else."
Upon hearing this ridiculous idea from Ethar, the old woman looked at him in surprise and widened her eyes slightly. "Every time, you truly surprise me with how stupid you are. But why would you bring me a bull when I’m already talking to one right now?!"
Eh?!
It took Ethar a few moments to understand the old woman’s sarcastic hint, then the veins on his forehead bulged for a few moments, but he eventually sighed. "Forget it. I was wrong from the beginning." He then took out a box he had brought with him and smiled gently at the old woman. "Look here, this is food you’ve never tasted before. His Majesty the King brought it from outside our world!"
---
Time passed quickly, and the deadline Rios had given Elena to equip the army with the new equipment was coming to an end!
"Where have you been all this time? The army is about to depart, and the Queen has been looking for you for a while." Ayat noticed Ethar’s arrival, grabbed him by the collar, and shouted at him in a low voice.
"Get your ugly face away from me." Ethar pushed Ayat’s face away from his, which was close to his own, and spoke lazily while scratching his ear with his finger. "I was meeting someone important to me, and I already asked General Thandria for permission. Since Her Majesty the Queen is looking for me, I’ll go meet her immediately."
Ethar left the area, leaving Ayat touching her face in shock at this moment. "My face is ugly?!"
---
"Your Majesty, I was informed that you wanted to see me." Ethar approached where Elena was and immediately knelt on one knee upon arriving!
"Oh, Ethar, where have you been? I was actually looking for you." Elena turned toward Ethar in surprise.
At this moment, she was wearing a set of Level Four armor, but unlike the white armor worn by the others, this armor was gold and white, specially prepared for her.
Above her head was a red crown decorated with a ruby. This was the Level Five weapon Elena had chosen!
"I asked General Thandria for permission to visit someone dear to me, and she allowed me to do so, my Queen." Ethar spoke in a nervous voice while looking toward Thandria, who was standing beside Elena!
"I did give him permission." Thandria confirmed his words.
"I see." Elena nodded with a gentle smile and asked, "Your weapon is the giant warhammer, right?"
"Yes, my Queen." Ethar was surprised by the question and quickly nodded, taking out a giant blue Level Four warhammer.
"You have no need for this anymore." Elena pointed toward Ethar’s giant hammer, took another hammer from her storage ring, and handed it to Ethar. "It is a gift from His Majesty the King. Take good care of it, and use it in service of the kingdom and to protect the people."
"Of course!" Ethar grabbed the new hammer and said with immense happiness as he examined it.
It was a two-meter-long hammer, slightly shorter than Ethar himself, with a purple and black color and many small purple lightning sparks surrounding it.
"I’m glad you like it!" Elena smiled at him, then returned to managing her own affairs.
---
Back at the army’s gathering area.
Ethar returned to his assigned place beside Imris and Ayat.
"Show it to us! Show it to us! Show it to us!" Imris and Ayat circled around Ethar and shouted excitedly and annoyingly.
Several veins bulged on Ethar’s forehead, and when he finally reached his limit...
Booom!
Ethar suddenly took out his new hammer and smashed it into the ground, causing Ayat and Imris to fly several meters away from where they stood. They then stood up and looked at him in shock, saying almost simultaneously, "This is amazing!"
Faced with Imris and Ayat’s surprised expressions, Ethar smiled and waved his hammer. "Of course it’s amazing. What did you expect from the Angry Bull?"
