"A quest from the Lord City Lord?"

Landon was stunned. In fact, he still didn’t know Feney’s true identity.

So he was naturally shocked that Lin Mo actually knew the City Lord and could even receive a quest from her.

"In that case, what are we waiting for? Let’s go!"

The other members of the Cyan Orchid Squad were clearly excited too. After all, this was a quest personally issued by the Lord City Lord—not just any Adventurer Squad was qualified to take it.

From their reactions, it was clear that Lady Beixila, the City Lord, was quite prestigious in the region.

Drinking water was less of a concern. There was a river near the Secret Silver Mine, and a rather unique type of Demon called the Crystal Ore Beast apparently lived along its banks.

This Demon was also a frequent thief of the Secret Silver Ore, but normally, there were guards stationed near the Secret Silver Mine specifically to ward them off.

This time, the mine theft occurred partly because of the large number of intruders, and partly because many guards were resting at night. The ones on patrol were killed outright, so no one knew anything was wrong at first.

By the time the anomaly was discovered, it was already too late.

Besides, dealing with Goblins was one thing, but since the Blood Sea Gang had come prepared, it would have been difficult for the guards alone to protect the mine.

The good news was that there was a dedicated road leading to the Secret Silver Mine.

This meant they could take a carriage, saving them a lot of trouble.

Lady Beixila had already arranged everything. Two fine carriages were waiting for them at the city gate.

The members of the Cyan Orchid Squad took one carriage, while Lin Mo and his Silver Radiance Squad, including Shefilya, took the other.

This time, Shefilya wasn’t stubborn about getting in the carriage; she didn’t insist on riding on the roof.

When Lin Mo mentioned this, Feney frowned and "lectured" Shefilya for a bit.

It was mostly just telling her not to be so self-conscious, not to be so reserved...

But it was clear that Shefilya let it go in one ear and out the other.

She listened obediently, but whether she actually took it to heart was another matter entirely.

Instead, she looked at Lin Mo. Although her eyes still showed no emotion, her gaze gave off a faintly unsettling feeling.

The carriage continued its smooth journey down the road. They still had a while to go.

The journey from Silver Stream City to the Secret Silver Mine would take nearly a full day. They would arrive around nightfall, which was perfect, as yesterday’s thieves might show up again.

However, the journey itself was proving to be a bit boring.

’It would be nice if some Goblins showed up to block the road and give me something to do.’

At times like this, Lin Mo actually found himself missing his old friends.

’Look at those big, round, green heads. They must be so satisfying to chop.’

But, alas, they didn’t encounter any. On one hand, the main road to the Secret Silver Mine was extremely important, so Silver Stream City paid it special attention and regularly dispatched personnel to clear it.

On the other hand, according to other Adventurers, the Goblin population hadn’t continued to increase over the past two days; it had actually decreased to some extent.
