On his way to the main mine tunnel, Lin Mo glanced at his panel.

The Skill, Flame Linked Stars, had just made its debut in the recent battle and had proven immensely effective.

"Skill [Flame Linked Stars] Level 1 (10/10) has leveled up!"

...

"Skill [Flame Linked Stars] Level 2 (20/20) has leveled up!"

"Current Skill: [Flame Linked Stars] Level 3 (28/40)."

That single use had brought the skill straight to Level 3.

Additionally, there was the matter of the Evolutionary Path that Lin Mo had yet to choose.

Please select an Evolutionary Direction—

Evolutionary Path 1: Range I: Increase the explosion radius of Flame Linked Stars upon impact by 30%.

Evolutionary Path 2: Power I: Increase the power of Flame Linked Stars by 15%.

This time, the Evolutionary Path options were concise and to the point: one increased the explosion’s range, while the other increased the skill’s power.

’After some careful consideration, Lin Mo decided that Flame Linked Stars would mostly be used as an AoE skill for clearing mobs. From that perspective, to further enhance its primary function, he should naturally choose Evolutionary Path 1.’

’I’ll pick up the other one during the next Evolutionary Path selection.’

A few moments later, he arrived at the main mine tunnel. Just as Lin Mo had predicted, numerous Blood Sea Gang members, looking very similar to the ones he’d seen earlier, were continuously hauling ore out of the Secret Silver Mine.

Meanwhile, the Guards, including the Guard Commander, were nowhere to be seen.

More importantly, there were almost no signs of a struggle. It was as if the Blood Sea Gang members had entered the mine completely unimpeded.

"As expected..."

Lin Mo narrowed his eyes. From the moment they arrived, the Guard Commander’s behavior had struck him as odd.

’On the surface, he wore an expression of righteous indignation, furious about the ore theft from the previous night and looking eager for a chance at revenge.’

’But his actual actions were quite strange.’

’First, as night fell, he inexplicably tried to keep them in camp for dinner. When questioned, he immediately backpedaled, as if he were deliberately probing them.’

’More importantly, in his subsequent arrangements, he had assigned them—the ones with clearly superior Combat Power—to a flank that required less stringent defense.’

’If his actions up to that point could have been interpreted as him being eager to claim all the glory for himself, the subsequent appearance of those Blood Sea Gang members near the mine was enough for Lin Mo to be certain of a few things.’

’Sending just a dozen or so men, even to a less important side entrance, was laughable. Their every action felt like a performance; they were clearly there on a "mission."’

’All one could say was that their acting was subpar, they were short on "extras," and the final result was, of course, a "terrible film."’

’The suspiciously large Goblin Army that followed only deepened Lin Mo’s suspicion of the Guard Commander.’

’He had deliberately stationed them at the side entrance, where the number of invading Goblins just happened to far exceed the Blood Sea Gang forces. In fact, if they hadn’t sent over those "actors" to avoid being discovered too early, the Blood Sea Gang likely never planned on entering the mine from that side at all.’

’And so, the truth was obvious.’

’The Guard Commander had long been in collusion with the Blood Sea Gang, stealing the very thing he was meant to protect. This ore-stealing operation had probably been going on for a while. As for why the news suddenly broke yesterday, alerting the main city...’

’One reason could be that the amount of missing ore had become too great to explain away. The other, more likely reason was that the arrival of the Goblins had complicated the situation.’

’His story was a mix of truths and lies. The conflict with the Goblins was probably real.’

’Considering it from that angle, moving them to the flank was a clear case of using someone else to do his dirty work.’

’He’d have them deal with the troublesome Goblins, while he and his cohorts sped up the process of shipping ore out through the main tunnel.’

’He’d even tried a petty trick, sending in actors to avoid exposure.’

’Though judging by the outcome, it would have been better if he hadn’t sent anyone at all...’

Lin Mo finished organizing his thoughts. Watching the bustling Blood Sea Gang members, he noted their speed and numbers. They weren’t even bothering to keep up appearances anymore. ’He guessed that once today’s theft was complete, the Guard Commander would likely return to Lania City along with them.’

’And Landon is probably almost in position, right?’

Based on their earlier exchange of glances, Landon had obviously noticed something was amiss. Though they hadn’t spoken, he had likely figured out the truth and was on his way over.

Just as Lin Mo predicted, after a brief wait, a very familiar Wind Roll Skill suddenly appeared.

The powerful gust swept up several Blood Sea Gang members who were hauling ore, instantly tearing them to shreds.

"Enemy attack!"

The remaining men descended into chaos. They had no idea who had cast the Magic, nor where their attacker was hiding.

"Don’t panic!"

A man who looked like their leader stepped forward.

He scanned his surroundings before calling out into the pitch-black night, "I don’t know who you are, but have you heard of the Blood Sea Gang?"

Landon didn’t make another move. After a brief pause, Lin Mo took the hint. With a casual flick of his wrist, he sent a Wind Blade flying straight at the leader’s face.

The man grew furious. "Such arrogance! You think we’re just pushovers?"

As he spoke, he drew the Sword at his waist and slashed, unleashing a wave of Sword Qi.

And then...

And then, the Sword Qi was effortlessly shattered by the Wind Blade. The blade continued on, its momentum unchecked, and sliced his body in two.

"Tsk, tsk."

Lin Mo emerged, shaking his head. "All posturing and no power. He didn’t even see death coming."

Landon emerged from the other side. He and Lin Mo shared a smile of perfect understanding.

Landon was a sharp man. Back when they were reinforcing Silver Moon Town, he and Lin Mo had been on the same wavelength. This time was no different; he had reached the same conclusions as Lin Mo.

There was nothing more to be said. Lin Mo already had a score to settle with the Blood Sea Gang. Since they now dared to steal Secret Silver Ore, he certainly wouldn’t show any mercy.

He immediately raised his hand, sending a [Flame Linked Stars] flying into the crowd.

A deafening explosion erupted, launching the Blood Sea Gang members into the air before they even had a chance to scream.

After the explosion, Lin Mo scratched his head. ’Looks like I blew up the ore along with them.’

’But Secret Silver Ore isn’t true Mithril. Besides, a material like Mithril isn’t so easily destroyed. It should be fine...’
