Adventure: My Skills Evolve Infinitely

Shefilya had rarely done this before. Even when Feney went to the Church, she would remain on duty at the City Lord’s Mansion, only coming back late at night or staying with her mother in the small courtyard there.

But recently, she’d been coming back much more often.

The three of them had been chatting—or, to be more precise, Ali and Lena had been chatting. Shefilya, after pouring their tea, had remained silent.

Lin Mo pushed the door open and stepped inside. Three pairs of eyes immediately focused on him.

"You’re back?"

Ali’s greeting was casual. Shefilya simply nodded in silence.

Finally, there was Lena. The Miss Cat Lady clenched her little fists, silently psyching herself up. She finally stood, walked over to Lin Mo, and said, "W-welcome home... Would you like to have dinner first, or take a bath, or... or..."

Lin Mo blinked. "Where did you learn that from?"

Then, he pressed a hand to his forehead.

’Where else could she have learned it?’

’That gag doesn’t even exist in this world. The only person who knows it is Ali, because I’m the one who taught it to her.’

’But Ali is terrible at playing the shy part. In her mind, the proper way is to do it *while* having dinner... and then again *while* taking a bath...’

’In short, it completely loses the intended effect.’

’But when it comes from a shy, sweet Little Cat Girl, it’s a whole different story.’

’The impact is devastating!’

It looked like during the few days he was away, the two "sisters," Ali and Lena, had finally had an honest talk. The big bad wolf had apparently grown a conscience and, deciding not to keep him all to herself, had started giving her dear friend some advice.

Judging by Lena’s naive and shy demeanor, though, she probably still didn’t grasp the full picture. She was just thinking about how to get a little closer, completely unaware that a certain someone’s "progress" was already in the negatives.

’Yup. Negative distance.’

Ruffling Lena’s hair, Lin Mo looked up at Shefilya. "Let’s have dinner first, then."

’As for why he looked at Shefilya?’

’Because she was the one who’d cooked, of course.’

Someone came to clean the manor and restock the ingredients every day. You just had to open the refrigerator to find the freshest vegetables and meat for the day, available at any time.

Of course, nothing was wasted. The older ingredients were used to prepare meals for the other maids and staff at the City Lord’s Mansion.

Shefilya was just as Lady Beixila had described: she might seem cold and quiet, but she was a good girl at heart and never half-hearted in her duties.

Especially after you got to know her... or more accurately, after you earned her acknowledgment. Having a maid as dedicated, diligent, and uncomplaining as Shefilya around was, frankly, amazing.

A sumptuous dinner was soon ready. As always, Lin Mo invited Shefilya to sit and eat with them, and as always, Shefilya refused.

’This wasn’t the City Lord’s Mansion; this was her own home... There was no reason for so much formality.’

But she was insistent, which was perfectly in line with the impression Lin Mo had always had of her.

To Shefilya, being a Maid wasn’t a job—it was her identity.

So all he could do was gratefully enjoy the service of this maid in the truest sense of the word.

After dinner, Shefilya took care of the cleanup. Lena offered to help, but was, as expected, refused.

And so, they all retired to their respective rooms for the night.

Lena returned to her room. After washing up, she sat at her desk, took out a pen, and meticulously recorded her experiences and findings from the day’s planting experiments.

She was writing with great concentration, but as she wrote, her thoughts began to stray. Soon, she found herself jotting down the strange things Ali had told her, along with all sorts of advice that was mortifying just to think about...

’Will doing this really make Mr. Lin Mo like me?’

The Little Cat Girl had no idea that while she was agonizing over this, a new round of battle had already begun in a nearby room...
